Talking My WDP... "Eliza"

Her name comes from the old movie, "My Fair Lady"

and just like in the movie, she's not quite there yet, but getting there. I did all this in about a week before I went up to San Francisco for Fashion Week.

It's not any different from what we've seen on the Board, except that it's MINE

(sorry for all the pictures that appear as duplicates, they're not, I just didn't know what to pick...)

I still look at it like it just came off the showroom floor...

I'll list my Mods first:

Comptech Rear Sway Bar
Axis Hiro 19 x 8.5 +35
Toyo Proxies T1-R 245/35/19
28% Tint All Around
Tinted Tailights 35% "Dark Smoked"
H & R Sport Springs
AEM Cold Air Intake
Valentine 1

Coming Soon:
Blacking Out Headlights
A-Spec kit or Ron Jon (or maybe A-Spec kit from 2007 TL-S)
Quad exhaust
Apple Macintosh Install
Comptech SS
EDFC
Custom Install for Valentine 1 Remote Display
Remote Start

Maybe:
Comptech Exhaust
Supercharger

Thanks for everyone here on the site!!!!

I'm going for a drive...

this is my FIRST venture into modding/tunning. I come from a jeep / truck background. and I have to say... this shit is addictive.

I live in the 805, and I'm down in the 818 all the time. Have family all over there. Id love to come to a meet and get some new ideas, and admire some cars. just let me know.

as soon as I grow the balls to take my car apart and open the housing, I will. :-) lol

if someone has done it in the Southern California area, I'd be happy to drive down, buy a 6 pack (or 12) and buy food.

I'd take it to a shop, but I really want to know the car, so I want to watch/observe/participate. Always been an "I can do it or learn how" kinda guy vs. I'll pay someone else to do it...

nice car bro. I wanna meet you in person to check out your ride, if it's okay with you. I live in downtown LA! Oh, by the way, I have the blacked out headlights, which I've done it with my friend about 3 months ago. It literally took ten hours. . . . with about 5 long breaks. . . . lol

do the 35... you won't regret it... on WDP it's absolutly PERFECT. Especially if you have tinted windows. otherwise it looks like dark windows and a dark maroonish tail. (with 20%)

do it...

a little over an inch. I think the website claims 1.3-1.4

when I first got them I was actually a little disappointed it wasn't lower. I almost wished I went with the racing springs. But after it settled, it was PERFECT.

I was originally going for coilovers (Tein SS) and EDFC, but I was leaving for San Francisco in 2 days, and I didn't want to roll up there looking like a 4x4. So I just got these installed until I got back. The Tein SS and the EDFC should be here next week. :-)

so the H&R Sport Springs might be up for sale real soon. only used them for a week. lol

Again thanks for all the complements everyone. It's only because of everyone on this site that I was enable to envision her.

PS- I'm gonna get a kit soon, I'm just waiting to see if there are changes to the A-Spec kit with the 2007 model. I'm actually thinking of changing out the front bumber so I can have the external fog lamps that the 2007's have.

When the springs settled, did you think you needed camber kit? In the last pic your rear wheel looks like it needs a camber.

I was woried about it too, but I haven't seen any issues yet. The last pictures is with the camera angled, but when you look directly at it, it looks fine. But I'll know for sure in 6 months or so...

i thought your going to put the Tein SS on, how are u going to know if the H&R springs are going to need cambers? (sorry if i sound really stupid right not) hehe. Also i might be intrested in your springs, depends on how much my paycheck is lol.

you know you're right. but when I go the Teins I'll probably have to use the camber kit. I want the back en to go down about half an inch and the fron about three-quarters. but the way it sits right now, it's fine. When I do get them I'll sell the springs dirt cheap. I just want the coilovers on.

I'm also going to change my window tint from 35% to 20%.

Nice lookin' ride man! Love the wheels.

One thing I came across by looking at your pictures, it looks like your rear bumper was painted, because the color is off a lot, by the rest of the original OEM paint. Just thought I'd thow that in, and that is probably one reason why I wouldn't get Pearl white, it's a ver very hard color to match.

none the less, looking good!

^-While that is the case with most of the wdp I've seen, I have noticed that color differences are a lot more pronounced in pictures. I was taking pictures of my Mustang that I had repainted about 6 years ago and noticed that the digital shots showed the color different so much more than was visible when looking at it in person.

Digital camera have automatic white balance settings that might not be accurate at the time of the shot.

its like that for a lot of the colors i assume
since the body panels are metal except for the front and rear bumper covers, the paint looks different in the light ....the plastic-like material shows the paint difference Its like that on the anthracite color as well

the +35 is the offset. i was going to go with th +40, but it looked like it was going to rub with the drop that I'm going for. I called axis themself and they also recommended the +35 offset. so.. it's what I went with. I couldn't be happier. have'nt rubbed once yet.

you're absolutley right, the color difference is there. but I have always loved white cars, and fell in love with it the moment I saw the car. it is more pronounced in pictures than in person and even MORE so when it's dirty. with a good coat of zaino and some elbow grease it looks amazing. but the difference is there. But i still wouldn't go with any other color personally. What I've heard is any "pearlized" paint is very difficult to match. but it's more pronounced on white. I'll either have it repainted eventually or if the A-Spec kit is different for 2007, I might go with a whole bumper and fort bumper replacement so I can have the external fogs and A-spec kit and decide to match paint better then.

but it person, it really isn't too pronounced.
