Tips for better night pictures:
1) Get a tripod!
The camera has to stay more still at night than it does during the day due to longer shutter speed.
2) Find good lighting!
A parking lot with clean white lighting would be ideal for night shots. It will expose your car much better. It's easy to lose detail when shooting a black car, so good lighting is a must.
3) Your headlights are too bright!
When the camera is attempting to make light to properly expose the picture, it will detect the light coming from the headlights, and adjust exposure settings accordingly. The shutter speed will be shorter, allowing less light with which to expose the rest of the car.
I don't know if you're actually into photography, what kind of camera you're using, etc. ANYWAY, if you are interested in photography, I hope my advice helps a bit.

Using a DSLR at night is very tricky. I've been trying for two years and only have a few shots that I really like. Keep practicing!

Oh Man, I will be Dealing with this Problem as well. I'm going to buy a Nikon soon and I don't know shit about photography except that you point and shoot to take a picture... I do know how to edit pictures a little tho. But I like your shoots, I would prefer to see more whiter lights against your Black car but I can imagine it would be difficult to find a Parking garage with this type if lighting

I was using a tripod, however I was pressing the exposure button as opposed to using the timer. I didn't use a timer whenever I took these photos which would explain the "soft" blur in some of the photos. I'm going to give the timer a try the next time out and see what better results I can get. I am getting into photography as a hobby, but have never taken any classes. I am currently using a Sony A230, nothing too fancy. Thanks for the tips and constructive criticism.
