My A-Spec Suspension Install Journey

Alright so here it is... my FIRST performance mod.
It's not even engine related lmao

Bought these Type-S A-Spec A/T suspension from a local member on here TmaX.

As you can see, the rears are already good to go.

The fronts, are a different story. I had to order 2 of the top washers, and one rubber spring mount spacer thing.

Had those ordered, and went to work.

Fronts assembled:

At this same moment I realized I had the Type-S bushings on my rears lol

Installed the front driver side one Saturday morning.
Then went to install the passenger side one right after, and everything was going good. I got the LCA through bolt out (the hardest damn bolt of them all) and went to work on the pinch bolt. It was too damn hard to remove by just my ratchet so I attached my breaker bar. SNAP. the bolt head snaps off.

I blame it on MYSELF. I didn't WD-40 or anything on it!!!

So then I said "I can't leave my car lifted like this until I get the bolt out and order the new one". So I put the LCA through bolt back in and put the wheel back on.

Then I went out to buy PB Blaster (I'm an idiot for not buying it before).

Then Saturday night I worked on the rears...
The seat removal was actually really easy using the tips on here.

I started on the driver side. It took 3 hours, and it was late out so I said I'll do the passenger side tommorow.

This morning, went out to do the rear passenger side. Did it in like 1.5 hours LOL

I didn't do it by the scan method, I did it using DeathMetal's DIY which tells you to remove the whole bracket.

So now I have 3 A-Specs, and one stock LOL.

I have to order the pinch bolt on Monday, and I'll get it on Tuesday.

I said to myself, hell why not try out the car with what I have so far? LOL

So I went for a little drive and DAMN.

They ride so much better than my stock shocks (which I assume were blown). The handling is AWESOME. Cornering feels so much better.

Here are some pictures from my drive.
EXCUSE the camera's noise!

Btw you can see my new 120 SMT Amber LED Turn Signals!

My rear seats are still off lmao

Will do!

There's definitely a noticeable drop.

Subtle, but noticeable!

Thanks!

Tommorow, while I order the pinch bolt, I'm gonna ask if there are any A-Spec badges out there still (in Canada).

Well, the new bolt is coming in tommorow.

I was wondering if I should:

1. Try to remove the broken pinch bolt out myself using an "extractor" kit (I'm kinda skeptical since the bolt is probably rusted in there good)

2. Go to Canadian Tire and have them remove it

3. Go to my dealer and get them to remove it.

congrats on the diy job; as for the broken pinch bolt; good luck man.
you're going to need a lot of patience; if i were you; i'd take it to a shop and see if they can drill it out. But that's just me..i have 0 patience for that; especially if you've never done it before..it might not be perfect-creating more problems.

Car is looking great, makes me wish I want a-spec rather than eibach pro-kits.

Good luck on the bolt, just be patient.

Thanks dude.

I'll probably end up going to Canadian Tire and getting them to remove the broken bolt.

Thanks man!

I realized you guys can't see my "stance" lol since my pics are dark.

After I get my last A-Spec on I'll take day time pictures.

Nice! I wouldn't have the balls to install a suspension myself, props. Post more pics though. I want to see the subtle drop.

Alright so I went to my Honda dealer (to pick up my new pinch bolts) and I asked them about removing the broken pinch bolt.

The guy said if I could take off the fork mount, and bring it in to him, he can remove the broken bolt.

I was like "I don't think I can remove that fork mount with the shock attached to it still" so he said "get a chisel and jam the middle section of the fork mount to release the pinch bolt therefore allowing me to remove the fork mount from the absorber so I can bring it in to him.

Do you guys think it would work?

Also, I'll take pictures of my driver side (the side with both A-Specs on) to show the drop. For some reason my rear passenger still sits slightly higher than my driver side.
