Dude you crack me up, here you are at 1500 + posts, and your parents finally got their Tl, congrats! Nice color too, but honestly, do you think they will let you drive it once you get your licience? Maybe you should convince them to let you take your driving test in it! good luck bro.

Haha, my dad says no, my mom says yes. My dad also said we werent getting the car or the TV, and my mom said we were.

I have over 1500 posts? Nice.

I was testing the parking break, and my mom said if the car moved an inch when she got back shed kill me, so I put in reverse and backed up 6 inches. I am still 14, but its not like it was a busy street, I live on a dead end, my friend was there too, spotting me, from inside. My dad let me take the ford in a parking lot, my friend filmed me flooring it, that was the last of the parking lot test drives, well, for 2003. Now for my TL (if it wasn't for me we wouldnt have the car, so lemme have em share the love)

I like to take stuff apart, Is there anything I could break by lifting off that metal Vtec plate on the top? If it needs to be torqued down Im not taking it off.

If you are gonna get your parents to buy the ASPEC rims, tell them to buy them from Curry Acura on Ebay, they will get an excellent deal there, thats where I got mine. Make sure you email them before you bid, and ask them for free S&H, they will hook you up, thats where I got mine, and they are sweet!

I need to double check with our dealer to make sure they are covered by our 5 year wheel and tire warrenty, but thanks for the Info. Ideally I would like Winters on the stock rims and summers on the Aspecs, I have a compressor and impact wrench so I could do the rest my self(yes I know to torque in a star pattern).

Dont go to the dealer, they will tell you whatever they can to get you to buy the rims from them, if you want to know something like that, contact Acrua direct. As for the rims, they would be covered, the tires would only be covered if you put on the same tires as they have at the dealer. I already went through that, and they wouldnt cover my tires, but they covered my rims.

I chose the color. I chose the leather. I chose the car. My dealer said the road hazard warrenty we payed 380 bucks for will cover any tires we put on the TL from anything other than wear for the next 5 years, I asked about 5 times to make sure of that, no matter the brand. I will contact acura directly about the rims, thanks for that tip.

I was just as eagar as you are testing out every friggen thing on this thing, for the first 2 weeks I spent at least 4 hours in the car testing every single thing from bluetooth to the clutch-shifting(even though I wasn't allowed to) and I suggest you do the same.

I have 2 questions.
A brand new car and your taking it apart already?
Are we the youngest TL drivers in this forum?

If you are 15, and you're typing like that, I have to give you a LOT of credit. You clearly are very mature for your age, and you have pretty good knowledge about cars!

Thanks everyone, mechanics is pretty much the only thing that has ever come easy to me, I put together the new grill when I was 5 without instructions because my father couldn't figure it out, then again he's a lawyer so...

Yep, what good is having something if you don't know how it works, I probably won't do much more than taking the plastic of the engine to take pics and change stuff.

TL CHROMTIDE, I don't get my permit for 5 months, but I assume we will be the youngest drivers, not owners. If my parents end up really liking the car and the quality I will probably get this for a colledge/military gift and they will upgrade to the newer one assuming it has AWD. I believe there was a 13 year old here briefly.

The secret for car knowledge is Spike TV Power Block and Howstuffworks.com.

Hey Crazy,

Congrads on your new ride. We all know how much you went through to convince you folks to get her. Hope your dad will let you take her for a spin when you get your license. But take it easy on Boston roads. You know how well locals drive around our neck of the woods.
