My ABP, I think I'm gonna like this Zaino stuff

Just another stock 05 ABP.

Clay bar and then 2 coats of Z2 with Z6 after each coat of Z2. Just as others have said, I can't believe what a difference clay makes. It took a long time but all the Zaino stuff is much easier to use than I thought it would be given all the steps and different products.

I love how you got the ACURA on the calipers to show through the gap in the stock rims... I tried that awhile ago and couldnt get the angle right...

How are those EL42s holding up anyway?

Zaino is great I have used it for 3 years now .. My passat had 11 layers on it and after about 6 the returns diminish but it still gets better. Zaino like any other high end sealant require a pristine surface as it hides nothing . You will just have the shiniest swirls on the block if they aren't polished out.

Where did you get the caliper decals?

My car is Anthracite, and after 4-5 coats of Zaino, with Z-8 between coats, the color actually looks darker than when new. People have asked me how I got a darker shade of Anthracite, and when I tell them it's just the shine from Zaino, they don't believe me. The stuff is simply amazing, and after the 3rd coat, you'll start to see the magic happen. It's not all that great with one coat....don't give up...just keep adding layers and you'll understand.

Thanks all. I think it is gonna rain tomorrow. Hopefully I'll get a few miles in before all the mess. It is pollen time so any rain makes a big mess on dark colors.

Oddly enough, that's how the car stopped on the driveway. When I saw it. I had to take the shot. The EL42 are doing OK. They flat-spot for a few miles every morning but there is still plenty of meat on them. Today is the car's 1st birthday. It has about 8400Mi on it and 4 months were spent wearing Blizzak's. So, bad rep as the EL42s have, I think I'll be with them for a while.

Those are the stock Brembo front brakes as Acura delivers them on the 6MT. But, the keen eye will notice the rear calipers are black. I expect my matching Acura decals this week in the mail (finally!) and then front and back will match.

I noticed a big difference after I put the Z6 on after the first coat. The second coat was even better.

Question: I used ZFX with the Z2 because I never used Zaino before. Do I always have to add ZFX for each additional coat ? It would be ice to be able to casually add a coat of Z2 from time to time without having to use up the ZFX. It just makes it all more of a "production". I guess I can mix up just an ounce at a time and do a single coat. Just wondering what you do.

The car looks great. The reflection shots really came out nice.

I clayed my car a couple days ago but there wasn't much stuck-on dirt I had to remove. Are you guys getting different results from the clay bar? Mine was in a kit from Meguiars. It also had a small bottle of carnuba wax and quick detailer in the box. I've never been a fan of Meguiars products but it was the only clay bar they had at the auto parts store.

I've had bad luck using that wax that comes in the clay bar kit from Meguiar's. It always ATTRACTS dust and it's hard to wipe off with a dry microfiber. I'll use that NXT 2.0 for the best shine and luster. Synthetic ftw.
