Cool My 3G NBP "Dark Angel" 56K BEWARE!

Here are the first pics of my '05 NBP TL which I have spent the last few months transforming from all stock.

Fugita Cai
Smoked tails
Front grill /Side accent trim
6000k Philips HID's
Rear License plate Cold Cathode bulb mod
Switchback LED running lights/turn signals
MSW Type 12's
Aspec lower lip kit

I just completed my A-Spec lip kit and the "blacking/clearing/angel eyeing/switchbacking with resistor install" of my headlights today. Just as I got done it started to rain as I snapped these pics. Sucks! I'm very happy with how everything came out. But have a look for yourself. I will be posting pictures later a kind of a "DIY" (mostly pics) or how i installed my angel eyes.

Im getting tint done next weekend 20% rear and rear sides/ 35% front sides.

BTW, i really dont care if you dont like the rims or my fugita sticker! Search the forums, I've already been "scolded" (or so one might say)

I like it man, it's very clean. Now what size are those rims and what tire size. I have been looking a at a similar design actually. You should drop it an inch though at the very least. I think it would really set you up for looking a lot more sleeker.

Hey thanks man. They are 245/35/ZR17's (same as stock). I only got the rims because I hit a pothole on the highway and bent the crap out of my stock's. Definately wouldnt risk 18's with the potholes around here, nor will I be lowering it. Any lowered car you see in ohio doesnt stay pretty for long haha

Haha yea gotta love Ohio roads! Ive had nothing less than 19's on any of my TL's and have never had a problem, you just have to be careful and pay as much attention as possible. Looking good though, im diggin' what youve done so far.

Oh yea, ditch the front plate!!!

Dont worry, I'll have one coming soon.

By the way all,

My Umnitza inverter flaked out within the first hour of driving . So I ripped everthing apart again and disconnected them after spending 5 hours verifying it wasnt a wiring problem on my end. The inverter had degraded to a point where it could'nt support more than one angel eye at a time had dwindled even more in intensity over a period of minutes. It appears that umnitza inverters have been known to be crappy quality, with some people going through 5-6 sets within a year. I ordered new ones from "VibeLights" as seen in this thread:

https://acurazine.com/forums/ramblings-12/wasup-guys-175353/

I would definately recommend going with these high quality watertight units from the get-go!

Well guys, it appears after some testing with new inverters that the left CCFL is infact dead. It was not the inverter that was bad, but rather this tube had been slowly leaking gas. I have concluded this because eventually today it refused to light even with new inverters after letting it sit for a few days unused. The other angel eye still works fine. I have an email sent to the UmNitza seller "Lightwurkz" on ebay and hopefully they will be courteous and replace a defective product. I that will say waves about them as sellers. I'll keep everyone posted.

Lightwurkz just emailed me back and they said they will ship me out a new kit. Well, thats great...but now i have to figure out how I am goona open this headlight up when its been sealed with not only the Butyl rubber but also clear Type II Silicone. Will heating it up liquify the silicone and ruine the headlight or just make it easier to take apart? Anyone?

What kind of LEDS do you have in the lic. plate lights? I bought the ones from www.superlumination.com, Supernovas. One already went out, less than a month.

Its actually not a LED at all. Its a white Cold Cathode (CCFL), very similar to a neon light. They are commonly used in tricked out computer cases and require an inverter to operate. This is the same technology that UmNitza uses in theiir angel eyes. There is a guide here on the forums on how to install (2) 12'' tubes in there after removing the stock bulb housing and wiring them in. Its literally a 1 hour job, and really worth it for that Lexus LS430 look. Heres the link for where I bought mine. It comes with 2 CCFL's and the inverter youll need:

Car looks pretty good minus the pillar carbon stickers or whatever but you gotta drop it an inch or so, it would make those wheels flow so much better

I'm a picture whore. Sorry that I dont have pictures any of the painting process though. On the bright side, besides masking part for the corner reflector, its pretty self explanatory. I used Quick Grip glue to attach the angel eye rings to the housing, available from Walmart's fabric section! enjoy. Also, dont forget to seal the headlights up with BLACK silicone. Dont ask, just trust me on that one. If not, the clear silicone can show when the headlights are installed if your not extra efficient in spreading it around the corner lights.
