My '05 WDP 6 spd Progress Thread

sup acurazine. just picked up a new car and i needed a new forum to join and this one seems the best.

got an 05 WDP TL 6 spd on 2/21/11 with 76,466 miles on it. I'll get better pics once its washed cuz its really dirty right now.

i picked the car up with a few mods
- comptech supercharger kit
- tein ss coilovers with edfc (currently not working)
- lip kit and type s tails
- defi gauges and control link module
- navtv bypass with dvd player
- exhaust

for the bad
- one of the OEM window visors is missing so ima need a new full set
- a few check engine lights i need to take a look at and fix up
- front bumper was backed into while parked so it has its few cosmetic issues
- factory sub is cracking
- the installs need to be cleaned up

on 2/22/11 i played around with the previous installs and tried to clean them up a bit. remounted the EDFC module with some switches and the dvd player was relocated to the glove box. also mounted a isimple unit for the ipod.

on 2/23/11 i added a rockford p3 with a 500.2 amp. def an upgrade. sounds better but i gotta get to the speakers (trunk is dirty with parts)

on 2/26/11 i did the rear speakers

next on the list is front speakers replaced, a 4 channel amp. and washin the car inside and out

thanx for lookin. i'll update the thread as progess continues...

I'm impressed that it came with a SC and such. That's awesome. I'm looking forward to seeing what else you have planned

Hey. Feel free to PM me if you need anything because I have a feeling they are using the comptech AEM computer which is causing the cel. It needs to be rewired and its probably surging too right?

thanx for the welcome guys. yes, the car came with a nice mod list from the getgo, thats why i didnt wanna let it pass by me and i picked it up. im more of a "build it yourself" type of person, but if i was gonna end up buyin the same similar mods, then i might as well save money doing so.

audio is first to do because that is my background, installations. then workin on some nice fittin wheels, fixing the body imperfections, and then engine work. but the cells will be taken care of soon.

cell phone pics today. first car wash

You PM box is full but I left you a visitor message. Also I would defiantly get an AEM wide band asap so you know if your running right. DO NOT push the car as it sits or problems will arise since you have those codes and the ACM hooked up wrong. Your car is not deterring knock with the way its hooked up!!

If your bored, read this:
https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...760273&page=21

Here is the problem:
https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-performance-parts-modifications-112/my-2005-tl-supercharged-800105/

It says do not hook up the blue/red wire so put that back to stock. Double check but there is only two wires hooked up.

Hope you dont have any probs down the road, as ACKtl05 is saying that some things are not wired up correctly.
Hope the previous owner did not push the car like that.......

I'd get new gauges as well. those are tacky just drilled onto the top of the dash.

awesome. im from the woodbridge area.

i went on the hunt for this comptech ACM and the wiring. everything is tapped into with a harness. the only wire that i see cut is a green/red strip wire that has been cut in half and is being split with the orange wire from acm going to ecu and the white/orange stripe wire away from ecu.

is this the wire i need to connect back to stock?

got my front component setup installed yesterday and def an upgrade overall. so far all that is stock besides the navi is the center channel.

i attempted to wire up my 4 channel amp today and after having it all done, i tested everything and had ALOT of engine wine/ground loop noise. traced it down to a faulty power distribution block.

after fixing all that, and having everything 100% functional, my 4 channel started smokin. disconnected it and bench tested it and low and behold, a bad amp. musta got messed up sittin in my other car for so long.

so off to get another 4 channel. rockin the stock mini amp yet again

Holy Crap!!!!!
I need to do my steering wheel bulbs. At least there won't be quite that much carnage. Dashes always look worse than the actual job.....

Got used to it on the old Diesel Mercedes. Always have a vacuum pod diaphragm to replace....

kept busy between yesterday and today. fogs are done. did all the cutting and fittin yesterday. did the wiring today.

used OEM Honda accord foglight kit. bought on ebay for CHEAP!

used the oem fog plugs. ran the wires in and right by the engine bay fuse box. cut off all the black tape from the relay plugs and exposed the wires. used the brown relay plug with 6 wires/4 connections
-2 black wires
-2 blue/yellow stripe wires
-1 blue/red wire
-1 green wire

when you strip off all the loom, cut the 2 black wires off the blue relay plug and connect them to the 2 black wires off the brown plug. you can discard the blue relay plug along with the blue wire, white/green wire, and red/green wire, and the brown plug with the green and blue wires.

now to wire the brown relay plug
-black wires are already grounded, so no connection needed
-blue/yellow wires are already connected to the fogs, so no other connection needed
-green wire goes to switch inside car
-blue/red wire goes to the battery lead (i plugged it into the fuse box)

the OEM switch inside the car, i cut all excess wire and just left the 5 wires coming off the switch
-blue wire goes to acc/turn on lead from lights depending when you want the fogs to turn on, with car, or with light switch
-red/black i jumped into the illumination so the switch bulb turns on with the other switches
-black and red wires i grounded
-green wire goes to the green coming from engine bay relay

1 side done

end product

might have to take the bezels off again and grind yet more down to get them to aim forward. but they work.

til next time

Accord fogs don't aim forward, as they are meant to face forward, but where they are mounted on the TL face outward. I do by best to get them as straight as possible and I have a way that works, but its never perfectly forward.

thanx for the help bro.

the cutoff is pretty damn clean and they both aim forward pretty even, they just aim out so much. but i'll deal with it for now. its like the cornering lights on my 5th gen accord, lol

Who / what car won first for this category? Any pictures of it?

Acura Sedan is a pretty small category lol the only other Acura sedan I can think of looking cleaner than a 3G TL is maybe a tastefully modded 2G TSX and same for the 4G TL
