MRP TL Type S - From stock to umm...not stock!
I would just like to thank Acurazine for insight and great looking cars!
I am a Acura technician in the Southern Oregon area. A couple weeks ago, a 2007 TL Type S showed up for a used car inspection. I thought about it...thought about it, and then:
I traded in my 2008 Fiji Blue SI for a 2007 Moroccan Red Pearl TL Type S 5A/T. Why?
Lets just say it was too good of a deal to pass up. 35k miles, 4 year, 48 month warranty, and I walked out the door with a Type S for 20k. Not bad! Plus, the more I look around, the red TL's seem pretty rare.
But besides that, I was getting frustrated with my SI. After being denied from Honda the genuine Mugen SI rear diffuser and side skirts, I started looking at everything else. 2nd and 3rd gear grinds, 4th gear grind, seat fabric, arm rest, door arm fabric wearing out, brakes getting low, etc etc. It was a "fix all these things and continue to build your SI, or pick up this nice TL instead".
I chose the latter of course. I've always been big into modifications, whether it be small or large. SO, I've not wasted any time with the mods on the TL-S.
Thus far:
Front/Side/Rear A-Spec underspoilers
Body Side Moldings
20% Tint
Full White LED interior lights
White LED license plate lights
Here is my 08 SI - I had even gone as far to do an '09 conversion to it. It will be missed, but it was time to move on.
More pics to come later. I need to clean it up. Tomorrow should be sunny! On the list are wheels, coilovers, painted door visors (maybe) and of course Jpipe and some exhaust. Fun times!

I gotta say Fiji Blue is one of my all-time favorite Honda colors, behind Champ White and EBP. but then there's MRP!! as far as TL's go, it's gotta be tied in first place with KBP and AM of course.
pretty lame Honda denied the rear diffuser and skirts, but fuhgedaboutit you got a nice, seems to be well taken care of, MRP TL-S! definitely an upgrade, and looking forward to how you progress with it.

Welcome and congrats!
That Si was gorgeous, especially the color, but the TL-S is even better

Beautiful color. I would loose the front plate as it will scratch up the bumper after a while. If you have to have a front tag in your state, I'm sorry...lol

Thanks all! I can see the general consensus does not enjoy the body side moldings. I don't have a problem with them. I feel they are a fairly subtle addition, and add some protection. Seems I am always getting more door dings than anyone else. Maybe its because I'm always such a picky guy when it comes to cleanliness.
As far as the plate...I know what you mean. I live in Oregon, so front mounted plate is mandatory. On my SI, I had relocated it to another location and eliminated the bracket. Due to the design of the front A-Spec spoiler, I think relocation would look wrong.
I'm have always been into modifying and customizing. Obviously I don't have the knowledge to change body shape, but I do have the tools and knowledge to install, remove, and modify many other components.
I definitely plan on slamming the car and running 19" black wheels. I've been looking into TSW Nurburgring and TSW Interlagos. Both have a very clean design IMO and would work well. I'll post more pictures as I go. Thanks again!

Its a 5 A/T. Coming from a 6 speed close ratio, having an auto trans was a bit of a problem for me at first. But I have accepted it and am enjoying it. The paddle shifters add some fun, though don't really make shifting any faster. Its just nice to feel like I have some control.
The interior is black all around! I could not live with a tan interior.
