Motorized Hideaway Front License Plate :)

I bought a motorized hideaway plate so I can get rid of that UGLY Yellow NJ plate from my beautiful front bumper on my NBP paint, a guy I know installs them for $300. Since our bumpers are shaped like an eyebrow, the center is the only place to mount it, (Well for my 07 TL S atleast)

It is powered by a remote within the car or you can walk outside with it. I faced the antenna towards the driver seat so if officer New Jersey says wheres your plate, Ill be like, its there sir, maybe you should take a 2nd look

Guy in Mahwah NJ sells them. I saw it on a A4 at his shop and jumped all over it!

Ill get a better vid from a normal angle, if your not looking at it you dont even notice it. I am getting 19's plus a 1.5 in drop. I better double check that plate after that

It costs $150 for the part. So you paid $150 for labor for that?

No front plates is like PLEASE pull me over in North Jersey. So when Im in the mood to be frisky ill keep it down, when I am buzzed at 2am driving home and dont want any problems, plate goes back up ...

He charges $300 for the plate and the install through his company. What I paid and how much it is is two different stories, he is my cousins best friend, always good to know somebody. It was a BITCH to put on the front, I would have paid him $150 to do it anyway.

Anyway, for those in NJ NY where you really need that front plate on, heres a great idea if you want to have the best of both worlds.

Cost me 175$ total installed.

Its not what you know, its WHO you know. Happy now ? lol

This post was to give fellow NJ NY people have an alternative instead of getting bagged by the POlice for no front plate. $300 might seem alot but when you roll up that plate you save $54 which is the charge for no front plate. When you pass a cop the first thing they look for is a license plate. $54 x 5 tickets, next thing you know that $175- 300$ is not that much.

IF you are a handy man and can DIY, this will cost you $150, ain't know way I am drilling holes in my bumper measuring to make sure its exactly centered under there, not my expertise if you would say.

I was just thinking about doing this lol just got ticketed for no front plate, sadly Mr. Officer didn't think that the plate attatched to the passenger visor was good enough. Would have been great to say what are you talking about sir are u sure you are seeing right lol.

For real, North Jersey cops (Pallisades, urgh COMPLETE dicks) and Nassau/Suffolk county cops are the worst. They are just waiting to pull people over for plates/tint. City cops are usually much too busy to bother. Unless you get pulled over for doing something stupid like drinking buzzed. That's what they look for and I don't mind. I don't feel sorry for you if you get pulled off the road for that.

I saw this hideaway plate on MGLAX's car. Sweet.

Man, I need to get this, cops here in Baltimore can be terrible at times. Just dodge a bullet not to long ago a cop pulled me over, and asked why I didn't have a front plate, I just told him I had gotten my bumper replaced, and was waiting for the tag holder to come in. Since my paint still looks fresh from getting the whole car painted, He let me go with a warning.

if they wanted to be real aholes, couldn't they give you a ticket for not "properly securing the front plate"? But if it works..thats wassup..i love being in ATL, no front plates needed here in the south. It's amazing how much better even inexpensive cars look without a plate lol

i dont know how i didnt see this thread months ago

lmao the shop you go to charges average people other than you $300 bux? im guessing thats a $150 labor charge. Is he some celebrity or someshit? That is OUTRAGEOUS lol if anyone needs any good hooksups for performance mod installs or aspec kit installs or any installs that you just dont want to attempt feel free to shoot me a pm and ill send you to one of the shops I go to. And if you want to get this plate installed please go to acktl lol he will do it for SIGNIFICANTLY less than $150

for coilovers, exhausts, pcds, brake jobs, supercharger installs, rear sway bar installs, mounting and balancing tires basically ANYTHING, GO TO MP BUILT its in port reading nj. Just say you're from acurazine and Maz told you about the shop and he will hook u up
