Well.. here you go then!

Sooo... I attempted to install my BC Racing coil overs today. The passenger went completely fine. The driver side however... well... fuck. Totally underestimated the power of a seized bolt. 'Cause now I have a lower-fork-bolt that's seized (the one that goes through the fork and the lower control arm). I tried smashing it with my hammer on both ends. Sprayed countless amounts of PB Blaster (rather.. P100 or something? Shit's expensive). It just won't budge. I managed to get the nut of it off... And I tried smashing it on that end so it can break free. It did nothing.

I'll have to buy a mini torch, a bigger hammer and a ball-pean hammer tomorrow. Oh... and some lube/anti seize so this shit won't happen again.

Side note: I'm actually glad I went with the gun-metal. I was thinking silver cause silver is dope. But I already have silver NT03s. I was scared the gun metal colour would be too dark but so far it looks just right.

On another note. What the shit?
These BC coils are nearly maxed and it's sitting at the same height as my Tein S-Techs/Tokico Blues. Is this normal? I thought I could go to stock height...

Maybe it's cause I got the extreme low version? Man I'm worried now lol.
Guess low life chose me... snowmobile here I come!

Yes I'm guilty... I did do it this one time. I even left that spacer on the rim. (good thing these got beat up during the two winters it went through? They actually might become my winter wheels).
Normally I don't though, I got all excited (and worried) when that coil went in and when I was test fitting that wheel that I didn't care where I put the tools :p

Too be honest I didn't think it would poke THAT much. I though 1-1.2.5" but it's 1.5" exact.

BougHt a 4lbs sledge hammer and a 2.5lbs ballpean. Hammering didn't get the bolt to move.
Bought a propane torch. It only lasted about 4 minutes. What the shit? Wasn't even enough to get the bolt hot either. Granted it was raining today (I was working when it was only drizzling out).

Now im shit outta luck for the day on what to do. Hopefully I can get an air-gun or an impact-air-gun to it tomorrow at work. If its not raining tomorrow I'll attempt to do the rears. Going to see if I can get an exchange on the torch or something.

are you using a jack to relieve the weight so you can pull the bolt through?

Actually, as long as he jacks(Hoff) from the front of the car and takes the load of the other side off, he'll be good.

It only took me like my th vehicle lowering to figure that one out.

Initially I only jacked one side up. Second time around I jacked the entire front end. The bolt AND the bushing doesn't even turn. I'll try putting a jack under the LCA and try hitting the bolt out that way. Hopefully it breaks loose... Cause everything I've done so far isn't working.

Also I guess it turns out that the propane torches don't come fully topped off. Replaced my first torch thinking it's faulty. Got a second sealed unit. It went out even faster!

I put the air gun and air-impact-hammer to the bolt. It didn't budge (not even the bushing).

I might try to undo the front sway bar and try forcing the LCA down without removing the fork. Hopefully it moves.

Anyone seeing this podt who's on BC coils max raise their coils?
Everything is tight yet it clunks like a mother tucker. I'm wondering if it's cause I set everything to max height. I'm about .75-1" from the top body and 1" from the bottom.

Edit: Oh... I might have forgotten to tighten the top nut where the adjustment knob is

I tried again tonight...
Took my sway bar off to try to pry it down. Realized it wouldn't move unless I undead the upper control arm.

But whoever installed it put the cotter pin toward the car and bent it oddly... which means it'll 100% if I removed it.
So... I left it at that.

Tried heating it and the instantly cooling it several times. I thought I moved it... nope. Only rounded 1/4 of the bolt instead.

SOOO going to try again tomorrow with the upper control arm's balljoint removed. If that doesn't work I'm sending it Acura (literally next door to where I work) to remove it and replace it with new hardware.

Got it out!! Was such a good feeling... Nearly ripped my ABS cable though. Luckily it didn't.

I removed my upper control arm's ball joint and sway bar link. Upper control arm shot up and the lower sshot down (naturally -- but didn't think the UCA would have shot all the way up). It was no problem getting it out at that point. But there was a lot more effort putting it back together due to the insane amount of load on the LCA. Wouldn't have been too bad if I had a second jack... Instead I had to use a hammer and a huge 40" pry bar to move the LCA over the coil.

Now just need to do the rears and mount my new tires on the new rims.

Oops.... Came back from vacation and haven't gotten off that vacation mindset... car's been sitting around doing nothing all summer long now. Well... at least I got all 4 BC coils in now though.

Ride feels a little... floaty. I set both front and rear to max height. My front strut bar is off still though so that probably plays a roll in it.
Something is clunking in the rear. Sometimes when I move from a stop, sometimes when I turn and sometimes when I go over a bump. Most of the time it's not there. Could be my sway bar/end link. But whatever it is it's pretty annoying.

Also... damn. I'm glad I bought Enkeis and not a cheaper wheel.
Recently went for a drive to run errands... then mother and older sister started complaining I was taking to long so I took a road I never take (roads are pretty terrible). Turns out it's the same day they decided to tear up the road... so debris everywhere. I took a exiting-turn going 40km/h ish (turn is pretty wide and usually is a 30km/h turn). Everything was going smoothly.. then I turned a little sharp as I was nearing the exit. Well, guess I didn't see the block of cement sticking out from the road and my rear right wheel smashed into it. The lip of my NT03 chipped and bent. So when I got home I tapped it lightly with a rubber mallet and well... now there's a chunk missing from my rim.

Alright. From here on out you'll be my personal advisor, J.

Here are your photos :P

Let's start off with a few photos from vacation that I do like.
Had the pleasure of a free business-class upgrade from my flight from Montreal to Dallas/Fort Worth. Everything was amazing... I'll probably try to fly business more often now even if it's not free.
Here's my view:

Oh yeah... I'm thinking about chopping this extension-cable for the dampening adjustment. It pokes out quite a bit... thinking about cutting it so that it's just the knob and maybe 2-3mm of cable shown.

Oh yeah... I also bought a new DSLR. A Canon 6D with a new lens as well. Now I just need to replace my missing tripod. Thinking about getting a monopod though. Gotta clean up the car to do some test shoots.

Damn, I forgot I even have the monopod...
thanks for sharing, man!
Loving the vacation shots...
and as per usual...you are a mad scientist with your car, which is why we love you.
I feel like if Justin had more drive and focus he'd do what you do with your car too.

I'm looking at a monopod that has a 3section fold-out-leg for support. It MIGHT be able to hold up a DSLR on it's own. Might. I like the thought of using it over a tripod for convenience and size.

Justin? As in JustnStands? Actually... I always have these burst of ideas and "drive/focus" but then I slowly... slowly get lazy and then my mods just start piling up. Gotta fix that

Thinking about getting these:

just to see if the dust-caps can fit into my Muteki lug nuts... I want to cover up that open-ended-lug.

Talking to Andy right now... debating on selling my new rims/tires and forking a bit of extra cash for his Rotrex kit. Hmn...

I don't think you'll necessarily regret that...
plus, Andy is the fucking man.

Yeah I met him back in like '12 or so at the "CanAm" cruise in Niagara Falls... this was back when he had the huge 3rd brake light covering his roof line and the RDX A-Spec wheels.
Cool guy.

Also finally got around to cutting my strut-bar. At first I tried drilling pilot holes in it so I can follow through with a unibit. I thought my drill was weak as it was doing squat... so I bought a new one that was on sale and that only did so much. So I said screw it to hell... grabbed my dremels and decided to cut a block out of it. It's even better than drilling a huge hole as I can comfortably fit my fingers into reach the dampening knobs on my BCs.

I went for a drive and found that the car stiffened up again... it was less floaty. But... it still seemed float around a bit. I adjusted the rear from 6 away-from hard to 4 (as well as the front) and that made a world of a difference. Car feels more planted now---doesn't seem to give me that floaty feeling anymore. So parked the car and decided to adjust front and rear to 2 away-from hard. Will drive it again next time to see how I like it over 4.

Found a set of aftermarket lugs with a decent colour of neb-chrome caps (most of the ones i see are just blue at the top).

but then I realized after I made the purchase that the first 5-8mm or so of the Mutekis don't have thread. So hopefully this cap is just long enough so I can thread it in. This one doesn't seem to feature an o-ring like the gold one I posted either :/

Bro, not to be a dick but
do you really wanna add an extra step to getting your wheels on and off?
I bought an entire electric gun to eliminate a step!
