Minor exterior tweaking: Blacked Grille on WDP-S

when i start working on the car, i end up rushing it at the end. so i started out early and worked on the paint slowly, giving plenty of time between the layers. but at the last layer of clear coating, i accidentally oversprayed it and started dripping... time running out and repeeling the paint to start over wasn't the choice... damn... will have to rework on it when i have another day of excess time. but since they are black it doesn't show that much unless looking about a feet away. anyways... heres the end result and process of doing it.

Diy

1. Paints used (white one not used).

2. Using ScotchBrite scrubber and Comet, scrub off chrome coating. After scrubbing, chrome looks more like brushed aluminum.

3. Taping & covering. Bit sloppy but works fine.

4. Prime & Paint

Wait wait wait... why do you still have the lower part of the grille still on the bumper? You can't take that part off??

i thought this painting job would be much easier by just taking out the grill off the bumper. but guess what... lower section and bumper is one piece molded together.

during the painting process, i found a left over can of bumper coating spray paint. it gives semi gloss finish like oem bumpers and more flexible than the regular paint. when i rework on the grill, i'll be using the bumper coating and make it oem look.

Flat black with several clear coats. Looks odd with the black and gray, but I didn't want to take out the bumper to paint that part. Doesn't look bad though.
