So i've been looking at countless pics of 19 and 20 inch rims on mid to full sized cars. I think i may indeed stay in 19 inch size. Seems like 20s will look a bit too big and i'm not really a fan when the wheels fill up half of the car's side profile. Furthermore the wheel styles i'm usually interested in are 5-7 spoke designs which can usually look even bigger with all of the open space they have. My only worry is that since i'm trying to avoid lowering the gap left might be too big. The car is actually already pretty low so it may not be a problem......i wouldn't be going smaller side wall like i usually do because that would make the gap bigger.

So for the moment i'm going to focus on 19s. Next step is narrowing down the style. Some of you know i like OEM-ish look. There are several nice AMG wheels to select from but this is also an opportunity to make it stand out a bit more. I'm really digging those wheels the 4G TL above has. They have a nice concave. The shiny metal finish would contrast nice against the car's silver color.

Any other wheels you guys could suggest?

Cool website...didn't even know it existed. The second one looks good although that style of 5-spoke (like the Vossen CV3s) is so overused....would like to have something a little less popular.

Well, it was mostly a place to look. I love that site...sometimes ads stay up forever, so look for ones with $0 as they usually indicate that they are sold already.

Good luck, man.

Wassap dudes. I think I have narrowed it down to a brand of wheels. Niche wheels look nice and are in the price range. Still undecided on 19 or 20. Here's a link in case anyone is interested in helping me decide.

None of those wheels from that link are jumping out at me. I think they will make the car look "cheap" and you come off as a high school kid that put wheels on a Benz his parents bought him. I would go with something simple in a brushed silver finish. You want the car to look classy and sporty.

Thx for the comments gents.

I agree those Vossen CV7 look the nicest. They look sporty while still keeping a subtle look that won't rice out the car. Problem is they are over the price range i'm willing to pay.

The Niche Verona's are very similar to those wheels but the brushed finish version of those wheels they messed up by painting the inside of the wheels white......WTF. Whats left is the darked matte version (pictured here on a new Audi) which would look almost monotone on my car but might give it a very nice sportier look.

I think the Lucerne wheels look nice and not cheap or riced out. Here is a pic on a new Lexus. Doesn't negatively affect it at all in my opinion.

The thing i'm still heavily debating is 19 or 20. Problems is i really want to avoid lowered the car. I'm concerned that the 19s might leave too much of an unsightly gap and the 20s might look to big. Decisions, decisions.

Go with the Lucerne's. I have those on my wife's FX35 and they look really nice and aren't your typical Vossen wheel look.

Those are not bad but lately im thinking if i were simple and classic with 5 spoke i would probably stick with AMG ones like the one you like. Im currrently leaning towards doing something a little different thought.

interesting, i think the size of that car and the meaty tires make it look like 20 are not huge. I think it also helps that it has many split spokes. 5 spoke always seem to look bigger with all that empty space. Thx

I don't think you should take into account ride height to decide on 19 or 20. Because you may very well decide to lower it, or not and either way, you'll be stuck with what you bought.

A german car with a high end suspension isn't gonna ride like a slammed civic. Both the S5 and 911 were on JUST H&R springs, had a great stance and rode superbly.

and Adam...so that's who YOU picture rocking a particular wheel on a particular car...

Good points you make.

On the drive home I stopped at a local wheel place to see various wheel selections in person. They guy put this 20 wheel in front on it so I could get somewhat of a feel for how 20s would look. I don't think they look huge. Maybe its because it has many spokes. Monotone color combo looks cool too although I don't know that I would buy that specific wheel. This weekend a gym buddy will let me test fit some 20 inch AMG of his s550 he is trying to sell me. We'll see how they look.

On a side note on my drive home I saw this beast parked at my local muffler shop. Shop owners V8 bi-turbo E63 with Renntech chip making 650hp at the wheels. Of course it sounds amazing as well.

Did some test fitting with 20 inch AMGs today.

End result. ...they're not sporty enough. Look cool. Fit good. Keep the luxury look going but just not sporty enough. I think if they would have had some concave to it I would be more impressed.

On to aftermarket I go.

I really like those for an OEM set of wheels. Why not get those and then some aggressive aftermarket wheels when you're ready?

The 5 spoke AMGs get my vote. If you don't want to lower it and want to make it a little more under the radar, they're probably the best looking AND most applicable wheel in this case

That was my plan but Jeremy and my wife have convinced me to go full bore right out of the gate. Haha. I'm going do it the other way around....aftermarket first. If he gives me a great deal maybe I'll stretch and buy them too.

hi fives wifey...

PS...I don't like them more than your stock wheels. I think your stock wheels are actually MORE interesting to look at, in some regards.

PPS...wifey getting your stocks thrown on hers when you get your new wheels?

I don't think so, she's not interested really. Actually I may already have someone who wants to buy the stock 18s......although until I have another good oem set I won't sell those.

wheels are on order. Only thing I'll say right now is that they are going to be 20s. Gonna be rollin on DUBs.

This is the first time I buy wheels without knowing exactly how they will look on the car before buying. Wish me luck!

it does have a big ass. The spoiler really helps balance it out. I actually have to redo the spoiler install, it's a little crooked. If anyone know the best way to remove 3m tape let me know.

What's wrong with this picture? Yes the nasty sunken wheel look. Luckily that won't be a problem soon.

LOL...you're spoiled. That's not that sunken!
Just pull the double sided tape off...it won't leave residue since it's new.

Come'on man...that is sooooo sunken in. You wouldn't keep it that way even for a week. Haha.

I'm not worried about residue....its just tough as fuck to take off. I read somewhere that i should leave it out in the sun for a couple hours so it will get soft and then run floss or a thin fishing line under it to detach it.

It's fresh, man...put it in the sun, and pull up the corners carefully...make sure it's flexing and not cracking spoiler paint, obviously.
but no, don't run the fishing line, if you split it in half that's double the area to peel it off of.
