I honestly can't lie and say that I'm happy to see this happen, Marco. Because I'm not. Not my car, not my choice...but I truly hope you don't regret this down the line.
If it works out and you're positive it's what you want...then I'm happy for you.

LOL...why would you do that? hahaha
my ass would have had a change of heart, I would have run behind the car, and said, "fuck you, sales off, I want my shit back!"

congrats on the sale
whats next
i want to get rid of the TL... much better cars out there now, even the new accord coupe has more features.
only thing thats stopping me is the transmission has been slipping for over a year now, so i'd probably get 4k for it, and i put too much money into it

have you looked into a rebuild? it shouldnt be as expensive as buying a new car
am pretty sure am not gonna sell mine until the wheels fall off...recently I was thinking of doing some head work+bottom end work (~2-3K) when I thought why not just put mine to stock and sell for a Type S 6MT...you can see a lot of them coming out for sale and that will warrant the work I was going to do AND almost all my mods are transferable....just food for thought

don't get me wrong the TL (especially how mine looked and drove) can stand on its own next to any car coming out today. It had great lines. Great durability. Great mpg. Can somewhat easily be modded very well. Just a great all around car.
For me personally I think once I got the truck the comfort of driving it (space and automatic) started a change in me. Of course my back problems also brought me further down that path. If I buy another car it will be a larger sedan and auto. Just couldn't bare seeing it continue going to waste in the garage. That car was meant to be enjoyed like I did for the past 8 years. I really do think it is going to be in good hands. The guy is about the age I was when I got it. He's a DIY guy as well. I think it was time for it to affect someone else's life.
Before this car i was never do deep into cars. I actually don't think I'll ever get this deep again. It was quite the experience. I learned so much and had so much fun. It's all due to such a great car and a great website.

Congrats on the sale, I think.
I took your "My Car Is For Sale" off for you.

much appreciated. Actually I'm happy, I've continued talking to the buyer and I think it is going in good hands. Gonna be fun deciding what the next ride is going to be. Larger sedan and auto are the only things decided so far.

Then you made the right decision, man. We're adults...being impulsive and keeping things for the sake of keeping them is immature. Your back hurts, you have a more comfortable car you can go to Home Depot in. Fuck it...Ridgeline it is. I'd urge you to consider a less practical more fun 2nd car if you DO end up getting one. Think convertible...

So my first weekend without the car is over. Actually it has been nice. The buyer is a nice guy and we have continued to be in touch. He is a 30 year old who recently finished his time with the Marines. His family has been very happy with the car. He swears he doesn't want to do any mods that would rice it out. I really think it is in good hands.
So its been cool to start researching what other car i might buy. I have (and love) my truck so i don't need to buy anything but life is short so why not. Since it is not a necessity purchase i can truly buy what i want. Question is what do i want?....haha.
I'm not a motorcycle guy. I'm not a convertible guy. I am a open top Jeep guy but Central Florida does not provide enough fun terrain to enjoy it. So i'm thinking of another sedan. I feel i'm done with excessive modding. Next car i would like to avoid lowered, stiff rides (my back will thank me). I think i wont get into heavy DIY-ing anymore (too many other things currently occupying my time). I was never a full on speed freak so it does not need to be a sports car.
So let's recap, i would like to buy:
- larger sedan (want more room)
- Auto
- luxury (leather,sunroof)
- Tech (keyless entry/start, blind spot sensor, backup cam, etc.)
- Under 60k miles
- Under $30k
Car's I've considered:
1) 4G TL
- Pro (has the Tech)
- Pro (has the luxury)
- Con (not necessarily roomier, although it looks larger from the outside)
- Con (more of the same, would like to experience something different)
- Con (afraid i'll start modding too much again)
2) RL
- Con (old body style)
3) RLX
- Pro (has the Tech and Luxury)
- Con (doesn't have a sporty look...no OEM body kit either....i've been spoiled by the 3G)
4) Infinity.............haven't liked any of these
5) Lexus....are nice but 2-3 year old cars are over $30k (could consider older but won't have the Technology)
6) Honda.....Accord not big enough
7) Toyota.......no large sedan to consider
8) Domestics..........ugh
9) European......only one i believe is reliable is Mercedes (based on my wife's and other friends experiences).....i like the E350 (fits many of the criteria).....love the s-class (i'm not ballin like that).
So anyway, i'm having fun researching and figuring out what i like. So far the Mercedes E350 is the front runner but i am definitely not convinced yet. Any other thoughts or recommendations?

Mercedes screams generic to me. Even in AMG trim, I rarely look twice. I'd rather see you in an M edition anything.
I was thinking about it last night and based on the fun I had driving the S5...I'd highly consider the Audi S4 for a next car. A little tuning and those things can be oodles of fun with AWD handling and all the bells and whistles you could need. Plenty of domestic options too...I want to own a big displacement motor for a short period, just to hear the grumble.
I don't know, man...if you get something cozy and comfortable and automatic, I have a feeling you'll end up ditching the Ridgeline.

Oh and mandatory
I'm not a convertible guy.
But I'd get a jeep with no top.
I wasn't a convertible guy either...until I got one. At sunset with the top down, cruising the highway...yes please. Shoot, I didn't even really get to enjoy the cooler weather with it this year.

I actually like the looks (inside and out) of Audi's.....they look really good. BUT, i have heard many, many bad comments about longevity & reliability from friends who have had Audi's. I keep cars for a long time so this is very important.
Regarding M's......i'll mention that my #1 absolute dream car for the last 10 years has been the BMW X5 in its fully decked out form (although i probably couldn't afford the M version). I absolutely have been in love with that car since it first came out. But i just dont trust the longevity of BMWs.
Regarding big displacement.....i've been REALLY interested in the CTS-V for a while but $40k used with no warranty left is a little tough to swallow.
Convertible vs Jeep is pretty different. Growing up in PR driving a jeep up the hills is fun.....offroading to a secluded beach is nice.....a Jeep could bring a couple fun things to the table but not really applicable to flat, boring Central Florida.
Maybe i should consider my dream car a bit more.....that thing is beastly!!

LOL...my point was, enjoying the sun hitting you and no top is the same no matter what the vehicle.
I don't know, man...I mean, for every 1 person that tells you they have had SO many issues with German cars, you can probably NOT hear about 100 people who have had no issues. Wifey, that facebook friend of yours...Mercedes ain't bad, but the BMW is very very nice. I love the X6, myself. Maybe I should get a Honda Crosstour since it's similarly shaped
Not saying they are or aren't reliable, just saying take it all with a grain of salt. You might also be hearing about a certain 5 to 10 year period where they were known for having issues that might not be present anymore.

Bird is the Word
A tuned S4 with the dual clutch transmission will be a beast! The biggest con about these cars is that they're not cheap to work on. I just recently had a $2500 repair on my R that I wasn't too happy about.

I know you mentioned you don't like domestic, but have you considered a Ford Taurus SHO? They're AWD, have all the tech package that you want, and under $30k for a used one. The ecoboost motors respond very well with a tune.

Wassap meng. Long time no see. Hope everything is going good for you and the rest of the west coast guys.
Actually i dont care too much about speed and power anymore (of course I don't want a big brick.....already got one in the truck anyway, haha). Of course things are always up for change but that's how i'm feeling right now. I currently just want decent luxury, comfort and sporty looks.
Regarding domestics, actually Ford is the only one i feel has decent reliability. I saw a Taurus the other day and it looked umm okay (not bad but not sexy either). I'm gonna research it a bit. Thx

I know you said you're not big into Infiniti but the Q50 is starting to creep into your price range and its checks off your whole list
