Man, it's your car... if you like it then you should go for it.
Did people like my orange mirrors and orange wheels? no.
Did I care? no.

But I will tell you one thing, I would rather have proper stance with fake wheels than no stance/half-ass stance with genuine volk wheels.

I'm actually thinking of picking up a set of varrstoens after my TE37s sell.
The weight difference is only 1-2 lbs. Just don't go over potholes because varrstoens aren't forged, lol.

1-2 pounds difference?? On the first page it shows the 18x10.5s weighing in at 25.4 pounds, I weighed my 18x9.5 TEs when I first got them and they weighed 16.8 pounds.

The 9.5" Varrstoens probably weigh 23-24 pounds.

When I inquired, Navith (sales rep) told me that the 18x9 wheel weights in at 21 lbs. When I weighed my orange 18x9.5 te37, I got 19.3 (depends on paint). Negligible? almost.... but worth it.

craig is right; the 18x9 +15 is only 1mm more aggressive than my 18x9.5 +22. The thing is, since the net effect is the same, the width is narrower.... so stretching comes to be an issue. a 225 on a 9.5 gives more clearance than it does on a 9.

But they now have 18x9.5 +22 but I believe it's a different price.

They're 18s, I hate the 35 series tire normally on 19s.

Yeah like Brian said, his 9.5s made the tires stretch more since it has .5" more width. But not sure how good the Goodyear F1 stretches. I'm sure if you went with something thats great with stretching you would have no problem running 18x9.5 +22.

Here are some pics of 18x9 +15 for reference. Note that the car is lifted so this is 0 camber. Once lowered I'm sure the top of the lip would be completely flushed with the fender, thus using a 225/40/18 tires that runs true to it's size will work.

Even though these are "knockoff" wheels, I say their quality is top notch! it's a lot lighter than my 5zigens ZR520 which are the same size, that's for sure. the paint is strong too, no chipping etc.

If you are insane enough, I say do the 18x10.5 =] they look AMAZING, saw it in person today and it def has the most concave of all the set.

also that is with Rays Extended Lugs, so you can get an idea how deep the +15's hubs are...+41 would def NOT fit over the 6mt/type S BBKS.

subscribed.... i too have a tough choice to make since offset is a pain to research on with the right rim spec.

i think im leaning towards 18x9.5 with an offset of +20 all around with 225/40 or 235/40 tires. hope this works!

Nav,

Do you guys have any front setups close to 18x9.5 28-30?

Also, can we have a comparison picture of the 18x9.5 +12 and 18x9.5 +22 concavity?

The highest offset we have in the 18x9.5 is +22 at the moment. No plans of anything higher as of now.

The concavity of the 9.5 is the same for +12 and +22. The only thing that changes with the offset is the size of the back pad. The concavity of the face changes when the rim gets wider. The 10.5" wheels has a more concave face than the 9.5" width.
