LORD. I'm jealous of your detailing kit!! If I could, I'd pull the trigger on that too!

Your car is looking better and better each day. Its weird how your tires look so beautiful and beefy, where as my aspecs look less...robust even with the same size. I like it!

Coming along nicely KJ I saw that GG on Amazon this morning and I almost pulled the trigger. But I am refraining on getting stuff for myself this time of year. I need to get my own since I have one on loan from the one they call Swoosh
Yea, I try not to buy myself things around now too, but I impulse bought on this one, and I'm happy to say that I don't have any buyer's remorse on it! Its nice that you guys have a solid group of people that can work on the cars together with tho. Woulda saved me some suspension install $$$ for sure.

Quote: wow thats look awesome, i love the silver and black theme. thats what im doing with my lexus is250 right now. all you need is to lower the car a bit more..haha
Thanks man, I like the look too. And moar low will come in due time. Flamesuit on, but I do like the great driveability I have right now - handles fantastic, no rubbing anywhere, no scraping anywhere....

I couldn't resist on the kit! Can't wait to put it to good use!

And its funny you say that, I had just noticed yesterday when I was walking up to it that the tires looked nice and beefy too. I'm definitely more into that look that the stretched look. Suppose it probably has something to do with my V8 RWD background.

Griot's...

...

Just kidding, buddy. You'll be very happy, I'm sure. Not a bad kit, especially for the price you probably paid. Plus, you'll be correcting paint on a SILVER car, so it's going to look perfect when you're done.

Yea, for the $99.99 I paid that includes all that stuff, I know I'll be happy. I've been wanting to try out polishing for a long time, just never saw a deal that got my to pull the trigger yet.

And yea, silver = so much easier to maintain

^^^ KJ you need to ask Steve for some tips....

his Silver Type S is so smooooth to touch...he maintains the paint really well and since its silver, its not tooo hard to maintain as some of the darker colors...

I've been following his thread, he has some nice stuff for sure. I'll be keeping an eye out for what you guys keep doing. That tire shine is intriguing too.

Yeah, half off! Way too good a deal to pass up. It was an Amazon lightning deal, probably only lasted for about an hour or something. Total impulse buy, and totally worth it.

I like the look of tinted headlights but to bad its illegal here in CA. Your car would look so sick with them tho!

Saw it Steven, stuff looks pretty great! If it lasts the way it claims to, I think it will have a lot more supporters soon!

Your paint looks fantastic too! I might have to try that Wolfgang stuff. Although I suppose I should give the griots a shot first since I already have it.

Griot's is good too, and tough. On NBP I didn't like how hard it was to remove, but on my wife's car (ASM) it was easy. You'll be happy with results.

Thanks buddy-Jeremy was the motivation for this.

I'm happy with the Wolfgang's AND the Tuf Shine.

Trust me, you won't be disappointed with the Griot's Garage products either!

Sweet, good to know. I'll stick with the Griot's to start with. That tire shine might just be a spring purchase tho!

In other news....my Valentine 1 will be getting a new home soon! Thanks Q!

Looking good.

I would be careful of that cover, I am active on a radar forum and placing the V1 in that cover in the back decreases sensitivity of V1 by a SIGNIFICANT amount. The front sensor is not as powerful as the rear sensor is. My V1 is sensitive to where it is on the front windshield, I can't ever imagine having mine in the back and if you have tint in the back it can also disrupt the signal strength.

I would do some tests at a store late at night. Park in the back where the signal strength is one or two dots. Try the V1 in the front, try it in the back, different angles and see how the response is.

I think they assume the V1 would be mounted on the windshield, probably why they make the rear one more sensitive. It's cool LOOKING though! I'd rather have it up front though...

Interesting...I'll have to see how it pans out. If it doesn't end up working for me, maybe I'll just trade with a VA member who needs it to be more discreet.

I wish the V1 worked in VA, no matter how hard you conceal it those troopers use "sniffers" to detect radars. Unfortunately they also take away the detector and give you a big fine. I hate driving through VA anytime I am down there which is often.

So I bought the Beltronics STi Driver that I use when I am in VA, it has the totalshield protection and they can't detect that.

Wow, I guess I take for granted that I can just wear mine loud and proud, huh?!??
Lots of perks in Florida, no radar laws and no emissions testing!

Man, VA doesn't sound fun. But Florida store sure would be nice with no emissions testing! Woulda loved that back in my younger years.

Either way, it arrived today and I should be getting it on this weekend and giving it a test

Had a chance to install the V1 mount and run the wires, its overall a pretty clean looking piece, I like it a lot. What do you guys think?

Also, happened to walk out to my car the other night and a NBP with A-Specs was parked right by me, thought I would grab a quick pic.

Your stance is nicer!

The V1 looks good back there, so what do you do? You have a concealed display? Or you have to look at it in your mirror? Also, volume and setting adjustments?

Was it as easy for you to run the wires as it was for me to remove them? Took me less than 15 minutes haha.

Concealed display up front near the VSA button, and no way to adjust volume or settings without the remote audio accessory from valentine that would give full control. I didn't see a need for it tho. Mute button is all you really need

For the most part, yes. One area right off the back window was too tight to fit the wire in, but besides that it was easy as could be. Super clean install overall.

To be honest, it really looks pretty damn close. Whoever made it did some really nice work.

All that said, I really regret to say that I talked to Q and I'm sending it back to him today. I just couldn't get my V1 to work properly with it. I think its possible since JPTL had his in back and said it worked fine, but in mine, it just wasn't working. So back to the windshield for my V1, and someone else will have a chance at a really nice custom piece.

So I scored a great deal on a Sony DSLR that I just couldn't pass up, so Christmas is done for me, but I'm happy! I had no idea how much I had to learn about photography though, this is complicated stuff. And then there is the editing afterwards that seems like an equally big dragon to slay, but I'm looking forward to it.

Anyway, I've taken a whole bunch of shots so far, nothing too fancy yet tho. Here is one I liked. I figured once I learn something about editing I could make it better as well.

And of course, my main test subject so far:
