Looks great! How satisfied were you with the Dr.Colorchip kit? Thinking about what paint touchup kit to buy to get a few chips fixed on my NBP.

As you know prep is key before applying coating. Make sure all swirls and other imperfections are removed or theyll be sealed under coating unless or until you physically remove coating with polisher or it degrades over time.

Good luck and post pics when completed. I have yet to see a well prepped RRP. That was my second choice in colors if I didnt find KBP.

^^^^ lol its not my first rodeo, the actual color is MRP (Moroccan Red Pearl) as you experience with KBP the shade change according to sun light. I did it back in 2012 and somewhat restore my beater (will post pics later since my work comp is pos) . I will post pics when the final product is done, anyway you got any more pics on that beauty?

I found while I had decent products and DA what I had wasn't enough to remove all the defects or even close between buffer trails, swirls, holograms and spider webs. So since I knew I was beat I let a professional get me to a baseline.

I'm curious since it's not your first rodeo as it isn't mine either as I've been showing and judging cars for concours for 15+ years what products and equipment you use to correct the paint. I know I needed more aggressive pads, equipment and product I chickened out being afraid I'd burn through clear and paint or reduce its depth.

i picked it up today but no more pics yet as it was cloudy let me see if the shop got any others

Dude, it's Honda paint...
I think you did the right thing.

You're a concourse judge?!? NICE! What airport?

Yeah, I have DA, and Makita...and a few different brand products and I've decided if it requires more than white pad with M205...I'll leave it to a pro, also...
or just live with the imperfections.

Thanks, I value you opinion. That was my decision too as I couldnt stand looking at the extent of the imperfections. The clear as you know on these things is really soft and didnt want to risk it.

my opinion counts?

Thanks man!
No, you did good, brother...
on my V, the guy that did a repair on my roof had his detail guy "detail" the car as a courtesy.
By using a dirty pad on a rotary to compound and then not polish my ENTIRE CAR.

It's the thought that counts but fuck me right in the goat ass.
Took me 10 hours and a day off with a few white pads and a ton of M205 to polish that out and now it looks very very nice.

But again, if you don't know what you're doing, it's smart to pay someone else or just walk away.
And I'd like to think that after doing hand zaino 7 years ago, then progressing to random orbit and then rotary (and then SCARY burn plastic headlights) back to random orbit)...I know a thing or two
and my approach now is that if it isn't a show car, and it's gonna be a daily, and you value your time and don't want to lose sleep being OCD...polish it up decent, then keep it protected by polymer coatings every 3 months
and just enjoy the car looking good from 10 feet, under a tree, when the sun is setting.

Otherwise, pay someone $1400 and get it totally fixed and sealed with a semi permacoat!

Again, kudos and great job, it looks beautiful.

Yeah thats similar story to how I ended up here. Shop put small scuff/scratch on door getting into it, raised it to them and damage they caused to seat, douche bag mechanic had keys dangling from his belt. They then decided to do me a solid and proceeded to do "detail" whole car even though I told them to leave it alone and just repair seat. I saw more swirls and buffer trails I was getting dizzy and to say I was pissed was an understatement. The "professional" even burned part of the clearbra on rear bumper.

Cheers to it being done and back in the stable.
