JTS97Z28's MRP/Ebony 6mt Type S **UPDATE- UNICORN SOLD**
Due to no longer using the same picture hosting service and losing all previous pictures I have posted, and due to some popular demand and picture requests I have decided to start a progress thread for my 07 MRP/Ebony 6mt Type S.
For those that have been here for several years you would probably know I have had my share of cars, and the Type S is one that I love and just keep coming back to. In May of 2013 after reading a thread on this site about a crazy low mileage MRP Type S 6mt for sale in Atlanta I knew I had to have it. The 6mt in that color combo was my "holy grail" Type S that I immediately started investigating the car and working on purchasing it. Most replies in the thread assumed it was a scam or what not mainly because it was on craigslist and the fact that it had less than 5000 miles on it. Turns out it wasn't a scam and the mileage was accurate and the story was legit. I purchased the car and flew down to Atlanta and drove it back to IL and had it home in my garage the same day.
Here are the first pictures I have of the vehicle after I got it cleaned up from its 700+ mile drive home. Its as new as you can get for an 8 year old car.
Got her home with less than 6,000 miles.

All the manuals and window sticker (says "NOT FOR SALE") where the MSRP price typically is.

Some engine bay and undercarriage shots.

The out going 08 CBP 5at Type S and the new MRP Type S together. This vehicle ended up selling to a forum member (although not an active user).

June 2013 update.
Besides detailing and doing any service a vehicle needs, my first mods are almost always tint. Here I had 35% tint done all around (except windshield). I also made sure the tinter did the job right and pushed the film all the way back on the rear 1/4 windows. I cant stand the unsightly line thats created when you don't tint behind the rubber seal.
Sittin pretty on its original 8 year old Bridestone Potenzas. Which surprisingly still rode good and looked brand new after all those years.

Nov 2013 update.
After finding some cracking in the treads of the original Bridgestone Potenza RE030's I decided it was time to put some new tires on. I went with the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3's in stock sizes. Overall good tire. Rides smooth and quiet and grips extremely well in normal temps. Even though the car hasn't seen much rain wet traction seemed very good. Would not recommend these tires in any type of snow. Its doable, but I tried it once and it wasn't pretty. Visually the tires look awesome! Great looking sidewall and tread pattern.
Here is the old Bridgestones.

Beautiful car
We all know the only "progress" on this thread will be mileage and maintenance updates.

Lol well I'm gonna be adding updates for the minor things I have done here and there as time permits. I'll post the pictures of the custom steering wheel and console lid as I have gotten a couple PM's requesting pics of those. For the most part once I'm done with that there won't be a whole lot of action in this thread. But atleast if something does change I can update it here in this thread instead of making a new one.

June 2013 update.
We bought my wife a new 2014 Toyota Highlander Limited Platinum and had a clear bra guy over to cover the front of that car and decided to do the Type S as well. I went with Xpel Ultimate film and he covered 24" up on the hood, front fenders, complete front bumper and mirrors. I purchased extra film from him and covered the lower door sections that aim down and are susceptible to rocks from the front tires. I also did the susceptible area on the rear quarter panels just behind the rear doors that is also prone to chips front the front tires. Turned out awesome and its nice to know this thing is going to remain rock chip and rash free.

July 2014 update.
In these pics I actually did some mods!! RDX rear caliper covers and custom steering wheel and center console lid by Dallas Custom Wheels. Amazing results that give the interior an entire new look, and its like driving a different car.

Better than new, as usual. Hey, I didn't realize Dallas did your console cover. What did that run you? Did you have to send it to them like you did the wheel? That is something I could really use.

Yeah they did my console lid as well. Mine wasn't worn, but the stock padding is pretty weak so I got that done as well. It feels awesome! It was $200 and yes I did have to send them the lid as they don't have those stocked. The wheel I did not have to send in as they had those in stock to cover right away. I ended up selling my original wheel on my own instead of returning to them for the core refund as I was able to get a lot more on my own. When you got yours done you had to send your wheel in first?

Yeah, I sent my wheel in. Well, the wheel I picked up used from the black market here. They didn't mention aby thing about having them in stock, maybe it wasn't available at the time.
That armrest looks good, but $200 is pretty stiff. I might look into a local upholstery shop down the road if it really starts bugging me.

Are those RDX caliper covers a dealer item? if so what do they cost and do you have a part #? Thanks in advance!

Thats where I got all the info I needed to buy them. I purchased them through a Acura parts dealer online. They are pretty cheap if I remember correctly. I am real happy with them, however the only thing I may do sometime soon is to remove the Acura logo. That may sound weird to some people, but im anal and the logo on the RDX cover is actually silver where as the OEM logo on the front Brembos is white (and smaller). Even though no one would ever notice, to me its weird to have the logo in a different color on the back calipers compared to the fronts, not to mention its larger font on the back calipers which are waaayyy smaller than the fronts.

Well an inch of snow in MO is a little different than the 15"-20" of snow we have here near Chicago and it aint gonna be anywhere near 70 degrees. I am driving and having a blast in the Grand Cherokee! I can assure you I would be having no fun whatsoever in a 6mt Type S and especially with my Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3's which can barely handle a dusting of snow.

Yea, smart man-driving the Cherokee. It was sunny and 25 today....LOTS of slush now.
I'm hoping I can go over to Swoosh's house this weekend to wake up the Stingray.
