Joining the A-Spec club! in RRP
Hello all,
Just got my A-Spec kit (front and rear lip only, from Kaleb's group buy) installed over the weekend. Thanks to all who have contributed to this site. The install was pretty straight forward using the info found on this site. Although if I ever meet the guy who created those dang clips that you have to pop out, I would like to punch him in the face...lol . I ended up cutting the two that are right above the exhaust off cause it was in an awkward spot and I couldn't get it out.
You can't really tell, but the darker portion of the A-Spec lip is a dark gray. I think I'm going to have to wrap it so it matches my grille and back strip, which is matte black.
I didn't get the side skirts to save $200+. I'll probably get them later on. I don't think it looks all that bad without the side skirts.
I'm sure someone is going to say get rid of the plate up front, but it is covering two big chips and the frame holder has dug into the bumper a little as well.
Lowering and new wheels are next on the list, but one step at a time. I would like some darker wheels to match my theme.
On to the pics, I need to take a photography class to get some nicer pics like others have posted. But these will have to do for now.
Please let me know what you all are thinking.
Thanks,

Congrats! Even though you may think the side skirts don't add much, they do. Whenever you decide to spend the money, go ahead and grab them to finish the look. I promise that you won't regret it! Also, a set of Type-S tails would look great on your car. No matter what you decide to do, you have a hot car

As soon as some more money comes in. I'm still paying off the car, so it's hard to decide whether or not to spend extra money on mods or pay off the car quicker. But the A-Spec was a must have for me, so I went half way and got the front and rear for now.

I wish I could, but the previous owner put a couple of chips into the bumper and covered it with the plate. And now the plate holder has dug into the bumper a bit...lol. I'll have to replace the whole bumper, which I may do one day. Now the matte black vinyl doesn't match the gray on the A-Spec, so I'll probably have to wrap the gray area as well.

Here's the link to his thread.

Thanks everybody for the replies.
I agree it doesn't look as good without the side skirts, but it does look better than not having anything...imo. Now I can feel like I can go to a local meet if there is one near me. I would love to meet some locals that love the TL as much as me. Although I still won't feel all that great since I don't have any engine or suspension mods. But those will come in time.

Dang it! Nice! Now I'm definitely sold on an A-spec kit also. Need one also. Freakin' stealer here wants to charge me $2800 for an A-spec and most of you got the full A-spec kit for $750 shipped. WTF!!! Can someone point me the right direction where to get it for the price mentioned ($750). I'm not trying to spend $2800 for the A-spec which is why I was originaly thinking of going with the Ron John Kit till I realized it is $2300 and still has to be shipped to me lol. A-spec is the way to go!!!! I've read lots of people are saying "get it from Tim" Who the hell is Tim and how to get in touch with him? heheh.

There are two different group buys that I know of. Kaleb has one that ended yesterday, but he his allowing for a little bit of an extension so if you hurry, he can do it, $745 shipped for whole kit. $525 for front and rear. The link is here.

The other one I know of is this one. I don't know if he still has it or not, so you have to contact him. His price is $775 shipped.

I was looking at your pics, what are you lowered on? Looks like the perfect drop. I was thinking the a-spec suspension, cause I don't want to go to low and don't want to sacrifice ride quality.

I actually like it without the side skirts... Looks great and that color is so rare in Canada i've seen like 2 lol and I think they were American cars. No sideskirts look great with aggressive wheels setups and big drops ie. Ballinfizzle
