Introducing Kaali - my 6mt NBP
Since purchasing my 07 WDP base and realizing there was an option for a 6mt Type-S, I have been on the hunt....I still love my WDP base, but I NEEDED to get back behind a manual gearbox (the base was my first auto...ever).
In December of 2017, I came across a 07 6mt NBP, one owner-non smoker, accident free, one dealer maintained, mint looking type-s. Long story short, I jumped on it and added it to the stable.
These next few pictures are the ones off the owner's advertisement:
I have only done a handful of things since taking ownership:
1. first thing was to change the transmission fluid to GM synchromesh
2. got the vehicle tinted (35 in the rear, 25 upfront)
3. added the skunk 2 shift knob
4. replaced 02 sensor (bank1,sensor1)
5. quick clay bar and detail (owner before me had taken pretty good care of the car, had x-cote applied etc...)
6. and last week I added the aspec kit
I really need to snap some decent pics, but the weather has not been co-operating....
Future plans include:
- paint correction and full interior shampoo/detail (on the books for late april)
- all season weather mats
- possible swap over to Tein suspension.

congrats, how does it feel now that you own a base and a Type Slow?

Some interior pics from the previous owner....I have since cleaned it up somewhat, but as the pics show, it was quite well kept

I honestly could not believe how clean it was when I saw it in person....I thought I lucked out when I purchased my base, but this was a true gem!
Honestly, I don't know if I will be keeping the base for much longer...it still get's driven as the Type-S is now my DD, but we don't really have a use for it. When the time comes, I will either trade it in or sell to someone I know. No dealer out here will even give me close to the amount of money I've invested in it...
She is! I cannot wait to see the transformation after the paint correction

The type-s is ready for its first summer. Last couple days have been pretty busy for the car. First I decided to take the plunge on 255 tires and picked up a set of dws06. What a difference !
Next up was a stage 2 paint correction and complete interior detail. The results were exactly what I was expecting. Was able to get rid of most swirls/scratches and also the NBP is showing its flakes once again. Hit me up if anyone is looking for a legit car detailer in the Vancouver area with a more than reasonable price. Onto crappy cell phone pics
Next on the list will be some maintenance.
Cars clutch is on its way out, but it will last a bit longer before I have to do the clutch job and overhaul. After that job car will be good as new

The aspec kit is a must IMO. I waited forever to get it for my WDP base, and it made a huge difference.
When I picked up the type-s, I purchased the kit within a couple months. What's weird is the aspec kit on a type-s isn't as noticeable when compared to installing it on a base TL.....or maybe its just me.
Maintenance should always come before mods, I got lucky with the type-s since most of the maintenance was already taken care of...
I would pick up the aspec kit, and maybe do a paint correction if your car needs it....that will have you satisfied and leave time and money for maintenance

Thanks man, I'm super pleased with the paint correction results. Car literally looks wet all the time

I already did a paint correction my car, but if I got the a-spec kit I would want to get my front and rear bumpers repainted with the kit because the WDP mismatch would drive me nuts.
Probably going to move onto coils next.

Yeah I've always put maintenance first too. After this round of work, all the major items should be taken care of for a while.

The aspec kit is plastic, and the body of the car is metal (for the most part).
Paint adheres to these surfaces in a completely different fashion, giving it a different look, hence a different color.

What MyGuti said about the bumper paint is correct. When I was painting cars at a body shop, even if we were painting the bumpers with the paint from the same mix we used on the car, it was always slightly off.
It may also have to do with the additive that is put into it to make it flexible, so the paint doesn't crack when twisted etc.

Good luck with matching bumper paint to body paint, unless you got deep pocket or owning a body shop. Hell even Honda can't match the color when the car leaving production line.

Took the car DT for the first time since purchasing it, didn't get a chance to give it a bath, but paint was still looking pretty good so I snapped a couple {shitty} cell phone pics

Got a new phone, so took a few quick pictures.
I really need to find a nice spot to shoot some pics, seems like every time I have an opportunity I either get too lazy or the car isn't washed....
close to immaculate

beautiful.
I think what makes this car even MORE rare is that fact that it's Canadian
looking at cars on here, you don't see that 240 km/h gauge often!

Been taking more pics with the new phone setup. Just point and shoot right now, but I plan on messing around with pro mode soon. Using OnePlus 6...
Also, thanks to member mike on here for posting about the harmon kardon bluetooth adapter.....HUGE difference. My audio sounds much cleaner and bass hits hard and clean as well. Was exactly what I wanted for my system, it's what I think the Jesse Kelly amplifer would do for the cars system, to a lesser extent of course. But can't say enough about this little device, worth every penny.

Not much of an update, but I did de-badge the rear emblems. Still have a bit of reside/outline left, will need to buff it I assume.
I love the look as it makes the rear look more aggressive now.
Also ordered some cabin and air filters, and ill be swapping those in shortly.

I don't really care if people mistake mine for a base model lol. The ones who know what a TL is, will know it isn't a base. And especially since most of the TL's I see around town are neglected, there isn't many enthusiasts in my area, and there is ALOT of TL's.
I wanted to debadge the rear on my base ages ago but never got around to it, so this is me catching up and scratching that itch I guess.
I may relocate the type-s to the front grill as many others have done, but for now it'll stay like this.

Pretty substantial update....
I finally pulled the trigger on a set of coilovers (and spacers), and lowered the car
A huge thank you to sockr1, guitarplayer and Bruce from endlessRPM, I probably wouldn't of done this mod if it wasn't for them.
The urge to lower the car came from a recent acquisition by a family member of mint 07 WDP type-s, with very low km (~70k miles)....more on that later.
On to pics!

Handling is improved but not crazy great, it is a TL after all lol.
I may pair it with a progress sway bar in the future.
Comfort wise its great! I'm very impressed with Tein's coilovers.
