IMPORTS4ME - posting pics - New Member/New Car
Hello All,
Finally i have surpassed my minimum requirements to be able to post pics.
First a little about me...
My Name is Mike and i just moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin from Toronto Canada. I have loved cars and been in the car scene since the day i got my drivers permit. Every car i owned by the time i was done with it, it turned out to be a huge money pit to the point that i dont even want to drive it. My wife says i have a sickness and that i should have it checked out...lol
Here is a list of my cars up todate...nothing special!
95 Honda Civic Coupe SI (SOLD)
94 Acura Integra GSR (Fully modded to the max - SOLD)
06 Acura RSX (SOLD)
Then i came to the point that i no longer want a 2 door anymore and that i wanted a nice clean sedan as a everyday car. While searching and thinking what was the best car, at the time my options were the TSX or TL or IS250. I wanted to buy brand new, so thinking that this was going to be my last car i took home a 2010 Lexus IS250 AWD Starfire Pearl White. I bought this car roughly 3 years ago and just when i bought it brand new from Lexus @ 50 miles, it was about to be winter in Milwaukee....I didn't want to drive it because how nice that paint was and the condition so i parked it for the winter....in that time i accumulated all my mods and finished what i wanted to do with it in 1 week.....After it was done, it was so nice to me that i just babied it and only drove it like once a week and never in rain. I kept complaining to my wife that i picked the wrong car and that it was so slow and blah blah blah, so finally i worked up the power to let go of something i enjoyed and loved so much....I sold the lexus about 3 months ago with under 4000k miles and started looking for a 2010 ISF but then i decided to wait until spring to buy it because no point buying a car and storing it right away.....so being with no car i decided to go look for a winter car/daily car becuase i would still need something like this for later even when i buy the ISF....I wanted something 4 door and a auto so my wife can drive as well. I was looking at some TSX and TL's and didn't care too much on color or condition but seems like most cars in my area in these models were around 11-14k. Then one day looking on craigslist i came accross this which i think it is a great deal for the condition.....
2007 NBP Acura TL-Type S @ 108k miles......I bought it for $13,000 Cash.

The previous owner, did a few things that im not too crazy about my plans is to take off a few things and do all the maintance work to in during the winter and start tearing and building in spring....
He added these ugly looking LED fog lights, they light up really bright. its more of a 5000k color...plus he wired it to the battery so they come on when the car is on, which i dont like, i'll be taking these off soon if the weather is warm enough....

This car also came with these 18"x8 Tenzo R DC6 rims that im not crazy about either, appearently his neighbourhood in chicago is really bad and damn theives stole his OEM TYPE S rims and left it on milk crates, so he needed to find something quick and bought these off his friend....i much would rather having oem TLS rims, but i guess i can use these as winters and buy new rims in summer.

i asked the previous owner to send me these pics

The previous owner also had the hood/roof and trunk wrapped in carbon fibre. He said that the hood had alot of scracthes and instaead of having it repainted or actually buying a carbon hood he wrapped it. i must say i never seen carbon wrap in person and it actually looks good. i think he did a good job, but im not a fan of it, buying another oem hood and paint it black or i might just get a real carbon hood but im not sure, i'll use this for now until spring and decide then.

Overall this car is pretty clean, i think its a good grab for me as a DD/winter car, i didn't plan on making any mods to it but after seeing what i can do to it from here the mod bug is hitting me. i have alot of ideas and plans for it and will update with a build thread come spring.
Here are some pics of my last car and my cousins cars....Enjoy!

Those are strange red accents on the dash and center console of your TL. Is that paint or some kind of vinyl? I'd take that off and that horrid CF vinyl on the hood, roof and trunk. The wheels aren't too bad, but you'd be amazed how much better they'd look if your car was about 2" lower.

I would say thats a pretty damn good deal. Sure the car has a few things that you want to change, but I think once your done its going to be a real clean car. I will say though, that shift knob....damn lol Not sure why someone would remove the original that looks nice, to put an 8 ball on it hahaha. Anyway, gives you something to do and then when your done with the car it will be real nice.
I will say im kind of surprised the milk crates held the car up. Then again the plastic is pretty thick on those.

Congrats on the TLS. Some of those mods the previous owner did were pretty ugly. I like the carbor fiber wrap
but maybe not on that color. Not enough contrast IMO. Love the Lexus, Supra, NSX, and GT-R.
BTW I would have never guessed that milk crates could hold up the entire car.

Great find. Judging from your modded IS, I wondering what you have in store for the TL.

I have alot planned, i been seeing whats out there for the TL's and looks pretty much the same kind of mods with alittle more engine mods available. I'll be doing a complete mod without going crazy on the wheels/fenders,
hardest part for me is i never been a fan of black color cars, so picking the right color of rims is going to be a tough one.
We'll see.......
