Hey cvajs, I did find out that they used the ceramic 40 on my TL. At first I thought it was to light but now I'm really glad I went with it (not that I had much choice in the matter since they only had one shade w/ the HO). I was going to post pics, but I'm in the process of getting my computer fixed, but i'll have them up for you by the end of the weekend. One thing I was really impressed with was the amount of heat it resisted, in fact I went back to the tint shop the next day and had them add the same HO Ceramic 40 to the sunroof. Even that made a difference in itself. No more worring about closing the sunshade when I leave the car in the sun... If I had a choice in the matter, I would have liked the back window to be a shade darker (Ceramic 30) but I'm not complaining.

HO Ceramic 40, including the roof

My local tint shop had a special for $350

No I'm not adding the wing, my brother left the wing off his Evo in my garage so I emailed this pic to him as a reminder to him where he left it. ...You can use the garage but what you leave in it is mine!

I should get a windshield sticker made that says 'Spec Rice'

I would have liked to have the HO Ceramic 30 in the back window but I am more than ok with the 40 all around.

rescueswimmer, it seems like my 40 is about as dark as yours from the side, not the back. Maybe it's because I have the ebony.

One thing I did find was that it takes a long time to dry. Not a big deal at all. And the cost difference, I'd do it again and it's only been a week. The appearance is great, I was worried about finding tint to complement the Antracite color. In fact I had decided on NOT tinting the TL at all, then I came across the HO.

Just as impressive as the looks is the display in the show room of the HO tint and the amount of heat it deflects. This was the reason I went back the next day to have them tint the sunroof. Believe me, it really helps, I was tempted to have them do the whole windshield; wonder how much heat would stay out of the car then.

Only thing was that my tinters kept telling me that I didn't need to have the felt installed and they even gave me a no fault lifetime warr free on top of the regular warr which was cool since it means they now warr even if it is my fault like I scratch it or something. Seems kinda dumb on their part, but I'm not complaining.

cvajs, I'm still waiting on the felt you sent out. I suspect it should be here shortly. Hope it's not too hard to install. I still haven't moved my windows at all since they've been tinted last week for fear of scratches. Actually I think that the tint is still drying.

ah,yes you can film the windshield. i believe HO has a film that has no tint to it but has some nice filtering properties.

as for moleskin, you should get it today.

is there any way to find out if there are any local HO installers in your area? I know they distribute in IL, I just don't know if any local tints shops sell and install Huper Optik tint.

Yea the back window does look darker but its 30 all around. but if you look at the ratings. the 30 is like a 34.5% actually and the 40 is like a40% so I think that is what the main diffrence is. Hope this helps
