How goofy am I? Traded for same car.

Couldn't help it. Went to dealer, and they had a 6MT exactly like my 5AT. I mean twins. Got the same lease payment, and 5000 less miles and 2 new tires.

I couldn't be happier.

Although they both have tinted windows now, the 6MT is the one without in the picture.

Almost feels like a different car with the 6MT. No regrets at all.

Of course they tried. You know dealers. As much as I'd like to change, it was not worth alot of money to me since I'd only had the auto for 5 months. When all was said and done, I only wrote a check for the first payment. I did extend my lease back to a 48 month (although I had 43 left on the 5AT).

My payment went up $.37 per month. It was tough, but I can handle that financial burden.

Yup. I bought the 5AT in October '04 on a lease. Bought the 6MT in April on a new lease. I already had 12,800 miles on the 5AT (drive too much), and the 6MT had 7,000 miles on it.

Damn, I'm happy. Keep in mind, it took 3 days of negotiating "Let me check with my manager" to get it there. I guess they thought the 5AT would be easier to sell, and the 6MT had been there over 45 days.

Right place, right time I guess.

The 6MT is just a different car. I really loved the 5AT for the looks and handling. I am just more of a hands on guy with the transmission. My only complaint about the car was the auto trans. Just couldn't pass this one up.

Have not regretted it for a sec.

Besides, the wife can't drive a stick. So, she quit taking my car so much, and leaving me with the Explorer. lol.

6MT > 5AT

Hands down. The car feels complete different pickup wise. You made the right choice.

I have an '05 6MT on order to trade my '05 5AT in for. Just can't get over the auto transmission. It's a great car, I just want the added control and feel of a manual tranny. So you feel a definate difference in the 6MT?

Good call. I would have done the same thing. I almost got the auto first, because everybody I know told me getting a 6-speed was stupid. But I just said f*ck it, I'm going to get what I want, screw what they think, and went with the 6-speed instead. Completely different ride! I don't regret my decision at all.

The dealer probally got you somewhere, but as long as you got what you really wanted, then to an extent it doenst really matter!
