Tires are Toyo Proxie 4, 245/35/19
I have the A-spec suspension kit installed.
I have had five people in the car with no rubbing. Hope this helps.

Ya I used to drive from Vista to Mira Mesa everyday and it was a Beotch. But now I work in Carlsbad and my drive is only 10 minutes. But I fill your pain though.
The only other thing that I have done to my car is the A-spec.

I have a Nighthawk black TL w/A-Spec kit, I'm going to have to bite you man w/those rims if you still have them. I wanted to go with 19x8.5, but those Axis don't come in that size, so I started searching again for some 19x8. black rims, I didn't think that lip would be that deep w/19x8 but after seeing yours I realize I was wrong, I love it.

No because the rear rim has the maxis lip and the front doesn't. If you go with the maxis lip it will have a bigger lip. The maxis lip wont fit up front though.

Love the rims. But, how about chiping of the black paint? Iwas thinking of a pearl or white with a polished or chrome lip...but then thought what if the paint chiped? I don't have the nice sunny whether all year either. I live in Wash. St. where it rains and snows. It was a hard decision, because I like the look of the painted wheel w\ the polished lip

Well we just had a pretty bad storm here in San Diego. Put a lot of dirt on the road (mud slides) and the paint hasn’t chipped one time yet, seems to be holding up real good.
Also there is a lot of construction going on by work and there are always rocks on the road. Rims still look good.
If you get your rims painted just make sure they use is good stuff. The guy that did my rims said the paint he used was real good. The rims don’t even have a clear coat on them and they came out looking glossy. That’s how good the paint is.

car_lost with this rim you won’t be able to find any place to do it. I take that back I did find one place but they wanted $275 per rim to do it, more than the cost of the rim itself.
The problem they said is taping of the lip and not getting any power coating on it. I guess it to difficult to get it perfect.
clay8898 Just go with the paint. I had the same worries as you when I first got it done. But now I have none because the paint is withstanding the abuse of the elements.
Lokius there is a thread going on about a San Diego meet. I Will look for it and put link to it in here.

I ended up going with an all chrome rim. But,after seeing yours i wonder if I made the right choice. I don't think my wife would be to happy if I went and bought another pair of rims. I was also wondering if their was a TL gathering in the tacoma/ seattle area. If so hit me up.

Ya they would just sand it to ruffin it up then paint it. That's what he did with mine.

I wish I could see what they would look like. I haven't seen anybody around here w/ a WDP painted rim w/a chrome lip. I personally think it would look good...but my wife ...not so sure. I'll call some places and see what it will cost.

But once done he said he couldn’t believe how much better it looked. He was even thinking about doing the same for his rims.
So your plan is to paint the rim white with a chrome lip correct? If so I inserted a rim that has this color combo so you can get an idea of what the rim would look like.

That looks real good. Thats a Bentley rim right? Do you think a WDP color would cost more than a straight white? I don't think white will look right anyways. Thanks for posting the pic.

I dont think WDP painted wheels will look very good clay. Contrast looks the best on a white car, I dont know what your style is necessarily. But I am getting some forged wheels with a deep lip, and instead of silver or black, I am getting a brushed anodized look, that almost appears gunmetal. Whatever is your fancy pursue it, just make sure you dont get ripped off..

Lokius, those rims are tight.......
clay8898, those rims are made by Axis (www.axiswheels.com) the same company that make mine. I am sure you could order the same paint that's on your car for your rims if you do decide to paint them. I have also seen black rims on WDP and they look really good.
But in the end I would worry to much about it because your rims are pimp anyways...To bad you didn't live closer. We could trade rims every month to keep our ride lookiing fresh to us... Peps be like "DAMN yall homie be rollin deep with two sets of rims

I've only been to Cali once San fran. I've always wanted to go to San Diego. I even joked to my wife about retiring down there. I bet their are some bad ass rides down there. Keep me posted Lokius. Thanks for all your help Donte. Peace.

Hehe, Well I am in the very green and rainy state of Oregon going to college, and the car is down south in San Diego. We live in Encinitas and Rancho Santa Fe, so Vista is not very far at all. I have a coupel buddies that live up that way, and I am up there quite often. For sure we will get all the guys together. There really needs to be a meet for us San Diego boys, about time we get all the nice Acuras together. Just to put an idea out there, my family owns a couple bars/Sports grill/billiard clubs/dance clubs/live music spots called Jolt N' Joes, theres one in Escondido, La Mesa, and we are opening one in the Gaslamp. By the time I come down for spring break, The Gas Lamp will be completed, we could do a meet at that location, then drive and take photos by the harbor. Get some great shots.
