What?

How else have you seen rig shots set up?

Do you know what that boom is for, or are you just posting negative comments to be a dick (in which case, mission accomplished)?

im hoping you've never actually seen a rig and dont know anything about photography bc thats how almost all car rig shots are done.

you sir.... need to educate yourself.

Matt...take it easy, rig shots have very limited use. Doesn't mean it's not a great and innovative, as well as unique way of capturing photo and or video footage.

Honestly if you think rolling shots are better than go ahead and try it. Rig shots get you more blur and streaks in your pictures. Just takes a bit of cloning out on photoshop to get the rig out.

I'll yield to your photo knowledge over my own Leo. I admit I don't know a lot about photohraphy. I just don't like to see someone come into a meet thread full of pictures and positivity and drop a useless negative comment and walk out.

Such is the Internet, I suppose.

that is true... to some photographers. but for someone who shoots a lot of cars? it's one of their most important imo. that sets you apart from other amateur point and shoot, show up at some meet, and take pictures. ya know?? its all about progressing and moving forward. jeff takes photography seriously and i wont stay quiet when theres ignorant comments especially towards him. he could be charging people for the rig shots, but he did it for free at the meet.

Honestly I was very approachable and answered everyone's questions that asked. I wasn't able to take as much other shots but some people wanted to meet up another day to do the shots since they like what they saw.

This kind of art takes time, and I did a few quick shots to for people who wanted one. If people wanted more angles I need more time to do it individually. But I did my best to get as many people who came to me first about it. I did talk around and get some aerial shots of the meet. I normally go around and take single shots of everyone's cars for them to just have. I just didn't have the time to do it.

+1 More sophisticated ones, but still, rigs have their uses. Just not in every situation.

yea, Jeff was the man, very approachable and knows his shit. Don't mind that guy, he obviously is talking out of his ass.

I might be getting that camera sooner than I thought, I just got my paycheck for this week today. haaha

Some people thought the rigs are done at very fast speeds, and their not, They are done at the slowest possible 1-3 seconds. So thats why if anyone saw we were rolling the evo with our hands since the engine vibration is so rough its hard to get the camera to stabilize.

I think Leo almost got a video of us pushing the evo haha when that pimp car drove by haha.

Pictures are up still working on all the rig shots as we speak. I wish people didn't leave so quick, since I wanted to roam around more.

Im so mad i forgot about the meet, as i planned i would have made an ill video. But this summer, i should have my lisense, so i would come to the summer meets without my dad as he will be very busy. I Cant wait.

raced4ed their called rig shots most people don't see it cuz they never know how they are done. Rig shots look much getter in dimmer light and are easier than chasing your friend car on the highway trying to get a rolling shot with minimum blur.

The Evoshot i'm still working on its a bit harder since the sun made it hardere to photoshop shadows out and it over exposed certain parts of the car.

Actually I do shoot photography, but mostly Videography... I dont use rigs like this in video unless I want to do 3 days of post processing to remove it... at 24 fps a 2 minute video would be 2880 frames that I would have to remove it from... I use a low mount that stays out of frame... Or i use a crane jib off of a second vehicle... Sorry to insult anyone... just have never seen it done that way.... Heres a flickr account for you non believers http://www.flickr.com/photos/46711364@N07/.... but yeah its just not what I am used to seeing from the looks of it it seemed he was just using it as stabilization for shooting...
