HDR shots.....my first try

So, I posted this in Photography as well, but figured here would get more exposure. Took some HDR pics for the first time. Let me know what you think and where I can improve. I'm gonna try to get some more practice this weekend hopefully, and I need some better locations with more contrast, but anyways, enjoy!

Second to last is my favorite by far!!!

that looks great.....except for the HUGE wheels....a bit over kill and dont look quite right. But the HDR is amazing.....

I just got lazy with the tires, but whatever. I'm gonna hopefully shoot a slew of cars this weekend, so hopefully I can brush up on my skills.....

lol...yeah, i made them a bit bigger on purpose...kinda like you see in those dub magazines and stuff...

Ksuchdeve, yeah, those are photoshopped rims on there...in fact, that whole image is basically photoshopped...can you spot the chopped areas?

theres a few areas... i THINK i can spot... but to a "normal" person who dosent do PS or web design or graphics, etc... it would look decent. The biggest giveaway is the tires... the angle/lighting... but still... nice job.

no, the trees are actually there in front of the building...that's the Monte Carlo in the background in Vegas...

but you're getting warmer...

...most people overlook the door handleless rear door the first time...

we should start a thread called 'spot the chop'...

and yes, let's make this an official HDR thread...

My buddy will be working at the Hotel across from culvers on HWY, so I will most likely be there most of the afternoon. If it's nice, we might BBQ if you care to come up and hang out for a bit!

you can do HDR no matter what camera you have...High Dynamic Range (HDR) isn't a camera setting...it's an effect used in a graphics program...Photomatix is probably one of the best for HDR...photoshop coming in second...

well, to an extent. You can do it with any digital camera that will allow you to adjust exposure settings. Most HDR images use 3 separate exposures, usually -1, 0, and +1. I used 5 from -2 to +2

did you know you can use only 1 photo in Photomatix to create an HDR image? i do it all the time instead of using 3 or 5 different exposure shots...that's why i said the camera doesn't matter...though some consider this not creating a real HDR image, but it's very useful for previous pictures when i don't have numerous exposure settings for each one...

but yes, like johnny said, get yourself a camera that will allow you adjust the exposure settings yourself...most cameras nowadays should let you do that...

yes you can use just one photo (RAW file) but for better image quality using 2 or more photos is best.
