H23Accord's 2006 CDM Acura TL TSX HID Quad Projector Retrofit

Well I had lost motivation for a little bit to do anything with the car until this came in...

My buddy Richard from HIDILLUSIONZ.COM owed me a favor so he threw these together for me. This is my 3rd retrofit from him and each one he does ends up better than the last. Should have more pics of them installed by end of week. Guess this was a teaser for now...

It's a TL, not a Ferrari. Plus the hood is about to be repainted due to love bug acid eating through the paint. So its really not that serious. You can probably see some of the spots where the acid ate through in some of the pics.

Anyway, lights are installed. Pics will be up soon.

Good eye...we actually decided to have the fog light aimed outward more for a wider beam pattern. Its not real noticeable upon first glance but after you look at it for a while, you see it.
The lights need to be aimed and I havent had a chance to do all that yet, so no beam pattern pics or anything like that yet.
I will end up selling the stock headlights since I no longer need them.

Can you contact your buddy and see if he's willing to make more of those clear reflectors? If so, PM me and I'll direct you to vendor information, there's a big market for TL owners wanting the clear reflectors.

What's funny is I shot over 2 PM's to Astro seeking vendor status and also I know "LIGHTS" tried to make these as well. I can make these, but no one has gotten back to me.

When Rich did my foglights, I remember him talking to me about your headlights. Nice to finally see them, now we need to get some output shots and wall shots.. The only thing that seems out of place is the shroud on the TSX projector.

Yea all the pics are taken with my phone so when I find my camera I will take better pics of the headlights as well as try to take some videos of the scrolling sequential turn signals.

Yea he is. His customer service is fantastic. He and I talked for hours and hours going over what to do with this set. He always exceeds my expectations with his ingenuity.

I thought the exact thing when I first saw the pics he sent me and was actually kind of upset about it. But he assured me they look better in person and he was not lying. Pics do not show how good these really look. The TSX projector is not as noticeably "off a bit" as you would think. I have had several people look at them on the car to see if they noticed and not one said anything about the projectors looking out of place or off a bit or anything. For some reason it seems to be amplified in the pics, but in real life not that noticeable.

Yea I will show a comparison pic of the blinkers off and turned on later tonight.

Yea I noticed that. His contact info is on his website at www.hidillusionz.com. Maybe if enough of us ask, he'd be willing to make them for everyone! I will definately bring it up to him as well though.

Yup he told me about your setup as well. I had considered the foglights like yours but I really wanted to keep the fogs I had integrated into the headlights and keep the bottom area stock so went with the quad setup. I thought the same thing about the shroud on the projector too...its the pictures though. In real life they look 100 times better and flows well with it.

lol yea I remember bforbrian's thread talking about it but he didn't follow through with it and I don't remember why off hand. He still has one of the nicest set of lights on the forum though...
Ill try to post some better pics if I can find my camera. On a side note, I should have installed that intake tube I bought from you when I had the lights off!

Running lights off

Running lights on

I tried to capture the blinker scrolling and it is just starting to scroll at the top. This was the best I could get after 10 shots on my uber slow phone cam. I really need to find my camera.

lol I wouldn't doubt it. Rich's standard rate for labor is very cheap and reasonable. I am sure all the customization of these parts definately would put it over his standard rate. Whatever these would typically cost, I am sure they are worth it. I get constant stares at night when the turn signals are on and scrolling. One of my friends even said that when I was behind him he didn't know what kind of car it was and looked like an exotic with the dual projectors on. It totally changed the look of the car especially at night.

You are fortunate he is local to you. I have known Rich since before he started customlightz.com and matured into his newest site www.hidillusionz.com.
Your buddy's GS400 sequential tail lights are what made me do the turn signals on my headlights. What work is he doing for your other friend? He has a long list of lights he has done on his blog spot including those GS400 tails at
http://www.hidillusionz.blogspot.com/.

Yea Rich definately has a talant for this niche market that I could never do. The ideas he comes up with are amazing!
JNC definately does great work as well and if I didn't know Rich I would have gone to him. Rich had performed previous retrofits for me so I couldn't help but be loyal.

Rich is an awesome guy. He's done two projects for me already. A TL retrofit for my Stratus, and the foglight retro for my TL. I'm sending him my taillights in the next couple days to do the ghost tail mod aswell, can't wait to see how those turn out. I may have to email him asking him about the sequential turn signals also.

Have you had any issues with condensation with only having tape over the rear instead of a factory gasket? Just wondering because I did something similar using duct tape and silicone. Now I have condensation issues.

I actually bought brand new covers and gaskets from acura. The pics you saw are the ones straight out of the box before I put the gasket and cover on. Sorry about your issue though bro. Keep us informed as to what you do to solve it.

I've had to replace the passenger headlight due to condensation. Every now and then it's has condensation. To fight it I threw in some Absorb-It packets inside the headlights. There are the packets of silica gel you get with new shoes.

Actually I have a grainy video I took with my phone a long time ago when i first installed version 2 but not sure how to get it on here. I also have a couple of updated pics of the retrofit on the car as well but when I uploaded it on here it told me the image was too large and I have no idea how to shrink it down to the acceptable size. If anyone knows how to do this I would be happy to email them to you to assist.
