So I've been trying to track down a squeal and was pretty sure I didn't lube everything properly when I changed out the pads and rotors. Simple fix but I also had one of my thread holes strip out on my Brembos so I had to get that fixed too. Pulled everything off and got Timeserts installed and was going to have the calipers taken to a powder coater. But they bailed. However I was still determined so I did it myself. Also did the RDX rear caliper covers. I wish I would have taken more time to do it. Little inperfections and such but looks ok.

Ill get some night time oictures soon as im curious what they look like at night.

I've had my RDX covers sitting in my garage for like a year...did you just use the RTV to hold them on? I remember test fitting them and I had a hard time believing they would hold firm with only the RTV. Could be I'm just being paranoid

can tell if you applied a clear coat over them! if you didnt, you might want too!! it would protect that gorgeous orange/burnt copper paint!!

yeah I just used some grey rtv I had laying around. Been for a couple drives and they haven't loosened up at all so all good so far

So I also freshened up the headlights. I think the calipers and amber corner lights go really well together after the headlights got cleaned up

I've had my rear covers on with just RTV for a good six months now. They've survived up close pressure washing, a half winter of snow, salt and ice, and still are holding on strong.

I also painted my rear covers (and entire caliper) to match the front brembo calipers, and just put an Acura decal on them. I didn't want to go the route of fake brembos.

I did have brembo stickers on the rear but had a mishap. So I decided to leave them blank afterwards. I think having the fronts say brembo and the rears say acura would look silly

great jobs, what did you use to remove the old black paint? send it out to sand blasted? my clear coat starting to peeling off I want to get it refinish.

I actually spray canned mine. I used sandpaper to sand down all the black paint down to the bare metal. Used brake cleaner to remove all the dust. Then 3 coats engine enamel. 3 coats primer, 3 coats paint, apply decal and then 3 coats clear over top. Prep is the most important step. Mine took two days to complete.

very nice color and yes without prep you will be back at it in a year for chips and other bald spots. Pics like that make me miss my 07

The first picture I used aircraft stripper to get up the clear coat and loosen the paint. Probably could've done another round of stripper but I just did the 1. Then I used a drill with a wire brush attachment. I wasn't down to sit there and sand all that by hand lol I did the rear covers by hand the night before while watching tv and took me forever.
