DM asked why everyone was congratulating you on being born into some sort of financial success. Which, is true...but we're just hating. It's still a nice car no matter how you acquired it.

And FYI about this forum. The people that come on here and actually give to the community and share and help...will be here long after the Acura they first owned to login here is gone. The ones that don't bother with profile pics, send out incessant help me with this or that PMs/Threads...will not. Simple as that.

I don't see where the bragging comes in though. He's sharing his new car with the forum, much like many people do.

Parents buying kid a nice car != bragging. Plenty of smart and humble people on here with cars they didn't pay for.

Might as well lock this thread, obviously the OP is gone...he's probably out driving his new BMW or at least he should be. Nice car, but not my cup of tea. If I see a Z4 and a nicely modded TL drive by, guess which one is going to turn my head....the TL. I'm sure he expected some level of hating in this thread since this isn't a BMW forum....and LMAO to the guy who thought the swimmer comment was something racist. Someone needs to freshen up on their zygotic euphemisms.

LOL. I think my husband is a little butthurt that I'm on AZ in the first place, considering we have matching TLs and he's not on here. I'm sure posting pix would only throw salt on the wound hahaha.

That, along with the fact that I'm constantly chasing 3 kids around so I only get on a second here & there from the iPad which I have no clue how to upload pics on LMaO

Why is acurazine (let me rephrase, ACURAZINE 3G TL SECTION) so harsh on young guys getting nice cars? I am active member on many other forums and no one is ever harsh on young members unless they do something stupid.....it seems in the 3G section many see a young guy (kid) with a nice car and instantly start bashing the car/person/etc.....who really cares....? Stop being jealous guys LOL. And the guy who said why he is posting pics of his new car.....why do people post pics of their old cars when they join?

Lol I guess the bashers are just jealous that someone half their age has a much nicer car.

BTW cartalk forum on acurazine has much more mature people active that can actually appreciate another car....newsflash guys....better cars than the 3G TL exist out there.

This part of the forum also seems to be antigerman car for some reason....whenever a german car is brought up everyone starts yelling "maintenance" costs and "big bills" and "big repairs".....pretty sure 95% of the people that say stuff like that haven't ever owned a german car...they are going by what their girlfriends cousins brothers dogs sitters boyfriends ex girlfriends father told them. Every car has maintenance, some are just more expensive than others, I have owned 3 german cars now and haven't had a single problem with any of them...in fact my 3G TL has had more $$$ repairs done. Really get sick and tired of hearing that.

Oil Change on Acura-$40 at dealer which lasts 5k miles
Oil Change on BMW/Audi-$90 at dealer which lasts 15k miles (i go every 8k)

Same with the brakes/etc.....just have to shop around to find the best deal, of course if you go to dealer you are going to get raped....gotta look for alternative vendors/suppliers.

I wouldn't say the 3g section is too bad in terms of bashing people for that kind of stuff. I don't know what forums you are usually on, but I see bashing of younger people owning nice cars all over. Definitely not limited to the 3g section. That being said, if you read through this topic you will see that the majority of the people are not bashing him. Most are just bashing his choice in cars. He wasn't gloating either. All he did was show his new car which most people do when they sell their current car... It's just a few jealous people who have no idea about the OP's situation and are assuming stuff. And besides, so what if his parents are well off enough to buy their kid a car like that?
1) I doubt those people would be complaining if their parents did that for them.
2) I don't know about you guys, but if I am in a position to do that once I have kids, I will.

And on the topic of German cars.... it's pretty much a fact that they are more expensive to maintain, but saying that in this topic is kind of dumb considering most people who buy German buy a warranty for 50k miles more or less. Now if he was to buy a german car with say 150k miles on it.... It would make sense if people were talking about the repairs....

Must be a full moon out...

A retarded, you make good points, honestly. I guess it is a little envy or slight disdain for someone just getting handed something nice when the majority had to work hard to get it. Plus, let's be honest, aside from a small few that DO get it handed to them (nice cars at a very young age)...the only reason some of the other young people have it with either not jobs or menial jobs is because the 3G and a bunch of other desirable luxury cars are going on 10 years old and are affordable now.

About German cars...they are more to maintain, but it's manageable, of course. To be honest....I plan to have one one day myself...RWD and lots of power. Yes please. I'd be happy to learn how to work on a different type of car. Plus, a lot of the senior mods on here own some pretty fantastic NON Japanese cars.

I don't see anything in this thread providing thanks, homage, or any level of gratitude to the hard work of the mods and contributing members of this community. This is nothing more than an ostentatious display of his forbearer’s success; any harshness, perceived or otherwise was wrought of this doing.

You further substantiate such material. “You” upgraded to an Audi?

Sure.

Why all the complaining? I was mommy and daddy funded when I was his age and when people said to me... Oh man you must be lucky in their snarky tone. My response was always the same. Yes I am, and in a snarky tone right back. The only difference is my parents refused to buy me a new car even though they could have. When I was 18 way back in 1995 my highschol grad present was a 4 year old Civic with a lot of miles that had tranny problems a year later. My father also made me save money so I could appreciate the value. When I got my first job I had to go wih him to the bank and cash it (every paycheck) . 60% went into a college fund and the other 40% was my money to do as I pleased.

Everyone's situation is different and who cares if we bash. We have all been bashed on this forum, regardless of our socioeconomic status!

I don't think it's so much if ur parents have it, I think it's more of a moral issue. My parents had "money" but they still made me go out on my 13th birthday and find my ass a job. From the day that I started working until I moved into a house of my own they didn't buy me a damn thing, (including my college tuition) to show me what it is to work hard and truly appreciate what I've worked for. Granted I'll be paying back my student loans for the rest of my life, but at least i value and take care of shit. My husb on the other hand is a mamas boy, mdidn't work until he was like 20 and is spoiled as shit, throwing money away constantly. It urks me to death lol. So keep on bein spoiled little boys, I'm sure u will piss off ur wives for the rest of ur lives, but hey at least ull keep ur mama happy so she can always keep u dependent on her & make her feel needed lol

Agree with everything you said. When I have kids I will also "spoil" them and pay for their education/first cars/etc......in my culture this is the normal. The forums I was talking about E90post/Audizine/etc.

Rockstar nicely said, 100% agreed. With the amount of work you have put into that gorgeous TL, I am sure maintaing a german car would be a walk in the park for you.

You further substantiate such material. “You” upgraded to an Audi?

Sure.
I see what you are saying but this is a public forum, he was simply letting everyone know he upgraded from the TL to the BMW.....if you don't like his post you don't have to comment. Am I not allowed to say what I drive in fear of making other people jealous????

Would've tried to pick up an E46. Honestly that car looks horrible imo. It's clean and all but it doesn't look nice.

Since we're back to talking about the car...you guys are crazy, the new BMW lineup is SICK, IMHO. I LOVE the new 5-series, how can you NOT like the lines on the coupe?
