Getting shit done this month, a progress thread was necessary.

Decided instead of throwing a huge party for my birthday this month in which I end up spending a ton of money and picking up other people mess/puke/etc I would just start knocking out projects I have been wanting to do on the TL.

WARNING SHITTY IPHONE PICTURES, MINI PHOTO SHOOT COMING SOON WITH MY ACTUAL CAMERA

Done so far:
-Re-Plastidipped my grill and emblems
-Plastidipped my stock wheels
-Finally got my mid muffler delete done
-Ordered new floormats since my shits are disgusting
-Took a shot at painting my G35 Wheels
-Got the wheels mounted balanced etc
Parts on the way/Being done this week:

-New Rotors coming in this friday, got the Brakemotives
-Sun Shade ordered for this damn Florida sun
-Removing Resonator and installing short ram intake(coming next week)
-Brakes purchased and pending rotors to install
-Dynomax Resonator being installed to compliment mid muffler delete
-Painting Engine Covers / Emblems to Match

Got some more things in the work, I shall update this thread as they start coming in off the UPS/Fedex truck.

Oh and btw input is encouraged whether good or bad, and you guys have any idea where I can get some center caps for this g35 wheels? I want something generic without an infinity logo.....

Oh and yes I know you all hate my smoked lights, my next step is to order the Type-S tails with the fancy new sidemarkers from our vendor that swoosh got us the discount for.

Some Before's:

And the blood, sweat, tears and mostly $$$ lol:

New Mats!

Stocks before Plastidip

Oh, Window Visors/Moonroof Visors also being seriously considered......

Any Suggestion on some good looking wheel locks that will also protect these wheels?
Do I paint the calipers?

If those wheels have deep uhh...holes? Then I'd get some tuner lugs, I have Muteki SR48, they come in black you can get locks and regular lugs, they match very nicely.

Also, great progress man I like the plasti-dip work. Not a fan of gold wheels but that's just me.

Keep up the good work

the pinstripe matches the wheels though.... : /
I have been debating on removing that pinstripe for two years now, more afraid that whoever takes it off will be an idiot and leave the paint looking crappy.

Please do not get a moonroof visor! I asked nicely so you have to oblige.

Black and blue really don't complement each other very well... Glad you got rid of the black stockies but I actually like the gold wheels

+1 on pin stripe being removed and I think the tint on the lights should be ripped off and burned with fire. But if you like the look, you're the one driving it

It looks like you don't really have a "final look" you want for your car. You're just throwing parts on left and right, expecting them all to look good once installed.

Here's what I would do if you're on a budget:
-Remove ALL Plasti-Dip already on the car
-Clear headlights
-Paint wheels silver
-Remove pinstripe

Then when you have some extra cash:
-07-08 Base or Type-S tails
-A-Spec kit
-Lip Spoiler

Since your paint is a dark color, you need more lighter colored pieces on the car to balance it out. Right now your car looks like a rolling bruise.

I def see what your saying. I'm ordering the type s lights, dropping it, and debating what to do with the grill and rims, the blue is hard to compliment so far for me, trying things out and seeing what may work.

With a dark colored car, lighter elements are the way to go, and vice-versa. My WDP has a lot of black and gunmetal elements to balance out the overall look.

I'm just trying to help you out man, no disrespect or anything intended

Hmm, blue and gold can look good but something about yours is off. The color of the gold doesn't seem right. I remember KB1spec's old TL was blue/gold and it looked great. Here is a pic of blue/gold done right

After looking at yours the gold color is definately off. Not really feeling that Nissan OEM rim style either. There are affordable wheels that still look great. For example, some RPF1s in 18s in gold finish and it would probably look a lot better.

I agree with Tyler though you need to get a theme in your head and go with it. Hope that helps, have fun modding!

Also I agree about removing the pinstripe, it makes it look like an old person car lol

If you like it though keep it!

^^

Blue & White and Blue & Silver look best for our cars. Gold looks good but it's hard to make a theme out of especially on our cars.

i6barzz

firstly thanks for the mention on the post....

car is coming along great....am actually liking the progress....

Car looks nice
Rims look good
Pin stripe, gotta go

Before visors or anything, consider lowering your car (tein Springs if on a budget, ISC N1's if going for coilovers)
Order the tails and side markers
Clear your headlights
Aspec kit?

This will add to the look....

now after this, get the window Visor and other add ons....

hope this helps

Here we go guys, some more changes, I am thinking of removing all the plasti-dip and idk what to do about wheels....these G35 Wheels feel heavy on the car and im considering just polishing the stocks and getting some coilovers. I like the gold but it just doesn't feel right...... "Under Construction" lol

Intake installed (yes i know intake's are hated on here. It's ok)
Mid Muffler was removed and the Dynomax Resonator was installed, sounds awesome.
Base 07-08 Lights installed, smoked lights gonna get put for sale locally to get rid of em.
Ordering New Sidemarkers this week.
More work to come, keep the comments coming I don't mind the criticism or positive/negative comments. It helps point me in the right direction. Thanks again!

Just a couple things, if you like the G35 wheels, I think they would look good in silver, you need the remove the pinstripe too

Do you plan on doing anything with the new headlights?

And can you made a video or sound clip of the exhaust?

Yeah I will see if I can do a sound clip today, and yeah I think i am going to remove the pinstripe and change the color of the wheels or sell and go with a different set of 17's instead of 18's, these wheels get dirty so fast too..... Oh and as far as the headlights I think eventually I will get the clear diffusers but at the moment my next big project needs to be timing belt job then coilovers : D

I think blue and black looks good if you do it rite...This is what mine looked like when i had my black wheels on....

It didn't look bad but when the black wheels got dirty, it did look like shit...lol

OP, you are doing a great job. Just like everyone else is saying, pick a theme and flow with it...

Got two sound clips of the exhaust, here are the links to the iphone videos, first one is hard to hear, second one is good on second one, just ignore my hairy leg in the video lol.

Also removed Plasti-Dip from front grill, i do like the new look alot better.

(fail, lol)
