FroggietheTL's Build Thread

Hey Acurazine! I'm Andrea and this is my '06 Acura TL which I bought bone stock about 3 years ago. Here's a little before and after of my car and I'll get into detail of my build in a later post

This is where I started

First mod was a set of XXR 526 18x10.5 +20 all around. I also got Weather Teach window visors

Then I installed Tein Street Basis coils.

I couldn't go that low because my wheels were too wide and I didn't have camber kits.

Then i installed my Aspec front lip.

I really wanted to go lower so I picked up Skunk2 front camber kit and SPC rear camber kit, got my fenders rolled and dropped it about an inch more. I also bought HIC window visors to replace the other ones which I didn't like too much.

Then I installed Depo Type S Tails and Sidemarkers. Here's my car's bf who belongs to numairh on Acurazine.

Then, my dad and I retrofitted the inspire f(r)og lights on my car.

After that, I finished up the Aspec kit and got the sides and Type S rear. I also lowered it about 0.5 inch more.

I also got some exhaust work done. It's pretty much a resonator and a straight pipe afterwards to the same 4 inch quad tips Numair has.

My paint wasn't the best to begin with. It was fading on some places and after someone left a dent in my rear fender, I bit the bullet and started the body work filling in all the dents, sanded down and prepped my entire car and sent it off to paint.

It's subtle but it is a custom gray with a purple a blue pearl in it.

After that, Numair and I plastidipped my wheels while and painted my brakes pink. The paint we used on the brakes was pretty bad so it doesn't look the best but we'll redo it later.

A picture from District 10 this past weekend.

Here is how it sits now! Got a few plans for it in the next few months if everything goes as planned. Stay tuned!

Welcome Frogger!! I love to see the progression of the TL's on here. Warning you can get lost for hours in the photo gallery/build page!! I personally am not a big fan of the visors on the TL as I feel it takes away from the body lines, but switching the old one's with the OEM one's is the way to go. I had the same old one's as you and I didn't like them one single bit. Looks good excited to see what's in store next

I like these better than the old ones I had. These are actually not OEM but by HIC

Nice pic, but damn-that's a hell of a tire stretch.

Its pretty comfortable but get the street advance if you get Tein

Its not too much, never gave me any problems in the past couple years.

Like I said earlier, I'm painting them again with different paint but the same color. And I love my wheels.

I've got a stretch on my Stingray because of wider wheels, but not that extreme.

I don't consider mine extreme either. It's really comfortable and worry free. I've seen a lot more stretch on 10.5.

the new paint looks good! you are 10.5 square - that stretch looks like a 225? not too bad -there is no barrel showing - do you plan run wider on the tires eventually - do like a staggered set up - 245 on the fronts, and 255 on the rears...I currently run 245/40 on my 18x10's...overall great progress Froggie

Thank you! Its actually 235/40 all around. I can't go wider because in the front I have no space. The fronts still rub on bumps.

Hey, as long as you're comfortable with it, that's all that matters!
