HMm...I'm getting the ddmtuning for my fogilights (04-06 fogs in housing)...still can't decide if i want the matching 6k or the yellow 3k.... I've always liked the 2 tone, and plus ppl will probably think my highbeams are on with the 6k in the fogs...

Does anyone have pics of 3k HID fogs in the headlights?

Fashtek includes a relay harness when you purchase their HID kit.

hids

ok so today i was debating whether to keep the 8000k ddm tuning or get the 6000k for fogs, low beams, and driving lights. i went ahead and got the 6000k for all 3. chuanger inspired me to do the 6000k because they are brighter and whiter than the 8000k i currently have. so when i get the 6000k fogs, low beams, and driving lights installed i will be sureee to post a pic of the intense whiteness from (3) 6000k hid kits!

I'd go with the DDM kits, they're about half the price even if you purchase a separate relay.

DDM kits are the shit. I feel bad for anyone that buys anything else. They can easily compare in quality to the higher up $150+ kits.

The ballasts are digital, about .25x4 inches, and the bulbs are pretty good quality too. For $40 plus shipping, totally worth it IMO.

One thing though, the 8000k bulbs DDM sells are more like 6000k. I got the 8000k kit and the bulbs match my 6000k headlights perfectly, so always go about 2000k higher than what you really want with those kits.

Thanks for the heads up ifirahse. I'm contemplating buying a kit for my fiance's subaru just for shits and giggles since they're so cheap. Did you buy a relay? Wondering how well they work without a relay.

Just throwing this out there. Has anyone had any problems with the chrome peeling due to having the HID kit in a Halogen housing? I've seen in a few cases that chrome started coming off of the reflective housing.

I had it installed with a relay since day one and they have never failed me...always coming on instantly with no delay or buzzing.

I have a friend that just installed the DDM kit on his 04 is300 without a relay and he has 0 problems whatsoever.

I have seen that, along with the following

-- Completed toasted HID bulbs causing white salthaze through the headlight.
-- Foglight chrome yellowed

and lastly, here is why no kit would EVER be in my car, EVER

https://acurazine.com/forums/showpos...33&postcount=3

Just image a toasted TL-S due to faulty kit wiring

just go with Sylvania ultra silverstar bulbs if you want to come close matching the color of stock HIDs and still get 1.5 times more light than stock halogens.

Ummm, that looks like an insurance scam. A beat to hell jaguar (fires don't cause dents) inside a garage that looks like it's attached to house whose owners have 12 cats and claim them on their taxes. Hmmmm......

Very nice, I think I'm gonna spend a few bucks and get these before I install my angel eyes and AEM V2, and do the whole mess in one shot. What bulbs did you oreder for the low beams, and the fog lights? Are both H8's????

for the hid foglights can we use either 35w or 55w? which one is recommended?

it says 55w 8000k will look like 6000k 35w

Is my set up above a good one? i just want a second opinion from some ppl that have changed out their lights. My main concern is the replacement bulbs for the low beams. Its just the bulbs or do i need to change the ballasts too

That is simply not true. I'm running a 55w kit and have been for over 3 months with 0 issues. Gerzand has 2 55w kits and he hasn't had any melting issues either.

"55w Kits are not recommended for smaller fog light housings because they tend to concentrate a large amount of heat in a small area."

Thats what the ddmtuning.com site said as well...

I want them to be as bright as possible but I rather be safe than sorry.

true

very true that it concentrates a lot of heat. Especially dont put 55w on ebay fogs. might be ok on stock oem fogs but i myself also dont want to take the chance of meltation lol.

I think your questions were answered... but not directly to your question. The answers you seek are here and there.

I recall someone saying something about one of the bulbs looking like another color, don't remember what temp...
But you should be fine with the set-up you chose.

DDM tuning HID kits aren't 40-whatever-bucks anymore. They jumped to $70. Hmn....
Too bad I already got an HID kit from Richie a few months back.
