Update4

This is the 4th - "8 days" weekend we worked on the car at this point the car is ready for paint which i was trying to have done last Sunday but unluckily the painter couldn't make it. So we have to wait for this Saturday to see the baby freshly painted!!!

Here are the pics of the progress we got done! Enjoy.

First we cut in all the interior and deck lid.

The car is estimated to be finish this Sunday. Except for the muffler because we are waiting on the Jpipe which I ordered Monday but was back ordered so if that gets here before the end of this week we'll have it all done this Sunday!!!

Yep !!! I'm even giving it an awesome name... Since the car is Jap ! I'm naming the car Rebirth which in Japanese is SAI SEI

Just to get the appointment for state inspection take about 3 to 4 weeks but we already called to make an appointment so probably going to have to wait only 2 more weeks!!! And then all they do at the inspection is to make sure you didn't altered the vin number of your car and that you didn't steal any parts and put them in your car!

And about the bodyshop smell and doing a full interior detail on it.. hopefully that's gonna help a lil bit to get the smell out..

I'm going everything OEM right now... Because I need to pass inspection, but after that I'll be looking at some aftermarket Muffler System and also some suspension.

Great thread!

I can say from personal experience that doing this type of work is a complete bitch until you see your finished product. Then you feel like you're on top of the world.

This also enables you to do lots of stuff that normally are projects all on their own. Sound deadening, audio, undercoating, rattles fixes, etc.

I can't wait for updates on the paint.

Yes it is at one point I was thinking about leaving it like that ! but then I thought about it and the feeling that you get from accomplished something like that!

feels so good.

Thanks. And yes I did . I ordered both the one from ebay @oembmwshop and also the one from my local dealer.. I'll compare them both when i get them. if they're both the same I would keep the one from oembmwshop since it is a lot cheaper than the one from my local dealer.
