John the GOPRO looks bad asss !!! I was looking into GOPRO Hero2 but found couple other video cams with GPS and other features which can prolly save you in couple situations....but am so in love with the GOPRO its getting hard to decide !!!

the roof spoiler looks awesome as well.....

couple suggestions:
1> place the GOPRO lower so you can see out of the windshield....i know JS+MS3 posted a link for a great product....check this out:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...st_Camera.html

2> does your reverse gear make a loud noise when you engage it ??? i recommend using the hand brake

Thanks for the tips! I did a lot of research before I bought the GoPro. I assume the gps camera you're referring to is the Contour+, right? I watched a long video comparison between it and the GoPro on youtube and the tester said the image quality of the GoPro was a lot better. However, the Contour+ has a lot more bells and whistles...the smartphone app for the Contour+ for live viewing is sweet! However, GoPro is coming out with a new accessory that will do something very similar: http://gopro.com/hd-hero-accessories...-remote-combo/

^^^ John...the wifi bagpack and remote are awesome but i dont think you can mount the camera between your seats with that....the reason i think thats a good spot is as it covers the road in front of you, your speedo and the gauge cluster....

about the car "black box"....Morgan (civicdrivr) mentioned some nice ones....cant seem the find the thread, but i did find this in my browser history.....i think this was lower in the spectrum.....

Amazon Amazon

the reason i love GOPRO is coz of the quality it has to offer....its just awesome !!!

what are you using to edit/trim the videos?

use windows live movie maker. and then after it uploads, go to file...save movie...and then hit 'recommend for this project' and it'll save it as a wav. file that you can upload to youtube immediately.

Yeah, the quality is pretty amazing...check out the vimeo link I just posted above.

Never seen the "black box" you mentioned. Looks pretty neat and looks like it got good reviews on Amazon.

I got my roof spoiler from ebay vendor "aaa.motor". I chose them because they were the only ones at the time that would offer WDP as one of their available color options. Other vendors said WDP was too hard to match so they wouldn't do it.

Well I tried just uploading the unedited .mov version and I also tried uploading a converted .mp4 version. I used the GoPro Cineform Studio software to edit, trim and convert it to .mp4. I use a Mac, so I have some other options like iMovie that I need to try. Vimeo worked well for the unedited .mov format. Just takes a while...that 2 min video I posted was almost 2gb. I'm a photo guy, not a video guy, so I'm on the steep end of the learning curve right now.

dude trust me...i know. why do you think i had such a hard time uploading a vid? it would process for like an hour and then crash and say it couldn't do it. or it would process for an hour and then get frozen.

movie maker is free and easy to use. give it a whirl.

there was some guy who had the GPS blackbox and got out of couple tickets since the cops tagged the wrong car with laser and pulled him over since he was modded.....

he showed the video to the judge which ofcourse showed the SUV zooming past him....the GPS location and speed helped him get out of an expensive ticket

am in for that shit !!!

if you just cruise yes its fine.

but you can EASILY give evidence to 'crimes' with that. put a time a date and location on it too. if you're gonna do some runs with a buddy DO NOT tag it, all you do is put info so a PD can claim its their jurisdiction.

haha I agree, but I think you'd have a better chance of being struck by lightning than to be in that exact predicament. Think of all the circumstances that had to fall into place just right for that guy to get out of that ticket the way he did. You'd basically have to be recording video 100% of the time you drive.

^^^the fact that the guy got out of the ticket, cool...likelihood of that happening to all 3 of us...SLIM!
I still want the gopro also...for mountain biking and car stuff...would ACTUALLY like to mount it on my fiancee's car and have her drive next to me on the highway...that way I'd have an idea of what angle I can drop in and and out and switch lanes etc...then chop it up when I get home.

Did you figure out the V1? Did you check the little tiny fuse?!? I thought I had a bad fuse and it was the baby fuse that was blown. Also, the cord is finicky...I had to order another cord from them directly...5 years in direct sunlight cooked mine at the jack.

oh i heard that if you have 2x the gopro's, you can mount them together to create 3d videos!! THAT would be a sick thing to watch, in say a video like this. also, this is a great example of mounting

Great post Sean....love that video....

my main reason of getting a GOPRO is to capture my encounter with assholes....coz i have had and encounter with a fuck-turd and he swiped my car (but no damage ) and pinned it on me....wish i had a camera which was recording the capturing the outside of the car, like the ahead of the car and prolly the sides (somehow) so i can stick up the video up those retards....

sorry for the

great video Sean....

Haven't had time to mess with it yet. I don't think it's the fuse because the main unit runs just fine. I was just going to grab another phone cord and pray that it works. It's just strange that this generic cord will power the V1, but NOT the concealed display.

me = confused

That's a good idea, but unless you're running around looking for fucktards, how are you going to know when you start recording? Like I mentioned, you'd have to be recording 100% of the time you're in the car, which isn't very ideal.

^^^ i would be recording 100% of the time....honestly my drives are 15-20 minutes long (home to work or just for a cruise)....

thats why am looking at a 32GB card for the GOPRO and will be recoding at a lower quality (480p vs 720p or 1080p)....lets see how that goes....

got couple things in the works....

if you are only driving 20 min that will fit on a 16 gb in HD. when i use my 16 in the d90 for video it reads well over an hour left of available recording space. just an fyi.

Summer wheels = mounted. Thanks to Jeremy for the 20mm spacers that are on the front...they sit pretty damn flush. Major rubbing going on...need to roll or shave asap.

and thank YOU for the 25's on my fiancee's accord...I think I'm going to try and keep the 15's I bought for her to run the +35 on the rear and so I can rotate tires.

Looking great, Johnny boy...
