LOL, one step at a time, I suppose...maybe I'll be a liiiitle closer once the front end conversion is in effect. If it weren't for the WDP greats such as you and bz, I'd probably not be working as diligently, you guys paved the way for AZiners such as much!

The TL is on a strict diet of monochromatic goodness!
Thanks! I notched out the sides of the holder to get the panel to slide in to the container and give a more 'complete' look...more then just for appearances, it does a killer job of retaining the panel in for a secure mechanical fit. The steel was only $10!
Yeah, they are a bit dark. You want night time or day shots? Keep in mind, my camera is pretty off on color saturation...I WISH my lawn was as green as depicted!!!! Yes, they are dark, highly illegal, but do not fully block light output. I did a layer, tested with an LED, did another layer, so on, and so forth. The recommendation on the label is bunk info. Push the limit.

Brother, you have been busy this weekend! You're glowing blue inside that cockpit! Everything looks fantastic. May I respectfully suggest you consider a dead pedal-I think it would really complete the look. Haa....a dead pedal for Death Metal-now you've GOT to get one.
Check out www.UltimatePedals.com
Seriously, congrats man-now what's next????

So far so good man. Tail Lights look dope.
I like the refab of the switchs & location of the DVD player.
Have you thought about painting the switch panel
black? Just throwing out an idea....
Either way looks awesome.

Thanks, Dave! FYI: I am going to be redoing the etches hopefully tonight, I’ll keep you in the know.
Thanks, dude! When I saw Rockyfeller’s thread about this, I knew I HAD to get it…seriously, you need to hop on this mod. If you need help with the install, let me know…it’s really not as bad as you might think!
Steve, I fawn and drool over those pedals probably once a week…MAN, a nice frosted set to match the rest of the interior…someday, lol. Unfortunately, the ‘Bank of TL’ hath officially been tapped dry, so after the next round of mods I think I am done for awhile. I might start offering mod services to fund the addiction. In all reality, though, with the project nearly finished, this will give me time to get back to working on the house…there’s two windows I still need to add some detail trim to, and I have been DYING to run chair rail up my foyer…so it’ll be a different kind of DIYs come July, haha
Thanks, dude. I had considered painting it, but I like the how the steel kinda ‘POPs’ and matches the Maven knob and OE trim…the last one was black and I didn’t like the way it looked…I would make it in black, IF I had SS switches…but damn are they expensive.

...and an SLR
...aaaaand a PC
...aaaaaand a firm 'I hate you'. I spent 3 hours tonight hand polishing and buffing the rear painted section and the two rear sidemarkers after hearing of your success with the PC. After purchasing some QUALITY 3M products, DAMN DO IT SHINE.
...so thanks for the inspiration to take it up a notch. Pics tomorrow.

Good work man...can't wait to see pics.
Well, thanks to your diy I actually repainted my silver plastics in NBP (actually found it in rattle can at pep boys) and cleared and polished them. Came out pretty well, I must say, after the lesson you gave me in wetsand polishing!

your doing an amazing job... i love the MSProject management worksheet integration to the project...lol... I don't know how you have the patience to keep putting things back together & taking back apart for the next part of the project... I have several things I need to fix on my car right now but the thought of taking the interior back out makes me sick..

As promised, time for some pics of the polished panels! I am MUCH happier with how this turned out, save the orange peel, but hey, it matches the factory orange peel, so I suppose it's not all that big a deal! Looks great nonetheless!!!
How anal am I? So anal that I would dedicate 7 hours on a Friday removing the goddamn OE wood panels to paint over them so the CF looks like it PROPERLY covers the part...many, MANY frustrating and sweaty hours later, DONE. While I was at it, I was in the process of etching another board for a member, might as well kill 2 birds with one stone!
Well, that's about it from DM basecamp for about 2 weeks...then a BIG project is coming. In the meantime, how about I work on my nasty ass lawn, huh? I think it's time.

DM, the carbon fiber looks great. I know it took you a LONG time to do it, but your time and patience definitely paid off.

Keep the car, I want your house!
Gorgeous...and our car looks amazing...the orange peel, meh, it's hard to see it, I think it looks perfect.
2 weeks off...ok, I'll find something to do to keep me busy until next update. I'm working on my fitment, hubcentric rings, painting the now visible hub, repainting lugs to match WORK valvestem, ordering tires.
It'll be a few weeks for me too. lol

You can't do all this amazing stuff to your car and not have the camera to properly show it! That's just unfair.

As promised, another big project coming this weekend, with the second-to-final occurring in WK27, and the final for quite some time occurring thereafter.
Anyone care to guess what's next?
