and the spoiler should be the same. Its probably the angle of the product image that makes it look bad.

Another PM i sent Rockstar
Ive never bought from either of the links so cant say that i have a favorite. They all appear to be made of ABS which is good. In this case i would get one from the most reputable seller of the 3, since the end cost is almost the same.
what i did was...
1. Measured the spoiler vs roof
2. Marked the center as exact as possible.
3. Made the mark around the entire spoiler.
4. Used a dremel to cut it in half.
5. Rather than cutting x" on one half of the spoiler i cut 1/2x" on each half. I felt it would make sure that both halves were as symmetrical as possible.
6. Taped them together and did a trial fit.
7. Cut both halves by a bit, equally, on both halves.
8. Taped it back and did more test fitting till i got it at the length i wanted (for mine rather than doing edge of the window i did edge of the c pillar to the other edge)
9. JB weld the two halves together while making sure both halves wont move during curing.
also, instead of just jb welding the insides i used a bit of the jb weld that oozed out from putting it together on the surface.
10. After ensuring that the jb weld cured probably i did another test fit to make sure there were no gaps.
11. I then fiberglassed the center with a strip of fb cloth that was aprox. 4" wide.
12. Sanded it down to make it smooth and even.
13. Layed resin then 1 layer of fb
14. Waited till it came to a tack and added another layer.
15. Waited till it was completely dry.
16. Sanded everything again
17. Inspected for any pits/holes in the resin/fb
18. Used combination of bondo and spot/glazing putty(similar to bondo) to ensure smoothness
19. Inspect spoiler for complete evenness and smoothness
and done!!
i personally ran out of space in my car to put it when i was moving so i plastidipped it and mounted it with 3m double sided tape. It stayed there very good. I only took it off when i went to repaint the car... And i was having a bit of trouble (was using only force).
hope that helps!

Just checked it when I got home.
That's the one I mentioned in the PM to Rockstar where the spoiler looks like mine but the 'on car' pic is different.
To be on the safe side, get one of these guys:

04Kom is about one of the top ten most helpful members I've had the privilege of asking something of on this site. Again, a million thanks for being so open, helpful and willing to share.
I texted my bud the fiberglass one to see what he thinks.

So earlier my phone ran out of batteries.
Anyway,
I plan on purchasing another W212 in two weeks time. I'd make a purchase tomorrow but I still have payment left on the clutch job I just did.
And I was thinking, if anyone would like a W212 roof spoiler then I'll be "taking orders" and doing a whole buncha them all at once.
PM me for info!

alright so with McCollins in, that makes 3 (4including myself).
anyone else interested? I'll be keeping the offer open for a while.
and Anil, I'm anxious to do yours!

and let me say I'm not looking to profit. Just offering a service!
so the asking price will be very reasonable.

Found this guy... $68 is the cheapest I've seen. Just figured I'd share the find

Indeed you are right, I just noticed.. I saw the w212 and didn't pay much else attention. But upon looking at it it seems the $68 resembles the Sarona more then ATLP like the other in this thread. Just my opinion..

Gotta have that flare...
count me in, depending on my local paint guy. We had a debacle with someone else doing the prep before he painted and he may feel more comfortable doing the nip tuck himself.

also I'm probably doing this as a one time thing as my roof/window is bare right now. Once I put my own spoiler back on I don't think I'll be making any more--unless I had another TL to work with
In addition to the bondo work, I'd be painting the spoiler myself =)
There's a DIY on CRSX I'd be using.
Google

I'll let you guys know how things look!

awesome! Did you order yours yet? And I'm on the fence of one wrapped in carbon and one paint matched to my car... (hence why I'm getting a second spoils. Yes, I'm nuts)

Update from other thread...I'm in touch with BMWOEMSpoiler shop to see if they're interested in taking over making the W212 looking spoiler for the 3G. We shall see what they say...if things go the way they're supposed to though, they would make them to fit, and painted already.

^^^ Jeremy, do proceed with caution as you might end up getting under the ban hammer....I remember I was under the ban hammer when I did a group by with BMWOEMshop....
but they are awesome to work with....the quality and paint is on point....the only issues I have been having with their spoilers is that, it shrinking

Thanks for the warning Anil. I DEFINITELY don't want to get banned for it, I'm just trying facilitate getting a product made for the members here. I don't even think I will swap out.
shrinkage? no worries, I'm used to it, unfortunately.

...and that was exactly what I told the MODS...I understand their point of view with ATLP being a vendor and making the same product....but was worth the risk IMO, I think we go 80 people the spoiler for like $55 shipped...
