Did you end up completing it before getting bored? I'm actually getting a CSL replica from K1Bspec pretty soon. Looking forward to it in a major way.

Do you by chance have a recent ebay link to that same roof spoiler? I'm kinda in a time crunch for paint and might pick one up too. Is it a simple paint and install? Or requires custom fitment?

Its to bad the roof spoiler was never painted to match the car, it would have looked so good! This is giving me some drive to make my own trunk spoiler on my next TL.

I wouldn't say that I got bored... more like frustrated.
I had a lot of different versions of it and each one had minor flaws about it that really annoyed me---so being the person I am I started over, because I could.
I'd say just get KB1's. It looks great and it's all ready to go

I could get you the eBay link if you'd like! But as you noticed there's some modifications that need to be done. It's not that hard at all, actually.
In my opinion the Mercedes roof spoiler is great with a CSL spoiler due to it's slight curvature that goes upwards.
If you like, you can order the roof spoiler and send it to my address where I'll do the modifications for you.
If it's something you're interested in shoot me a pm or email at nguyenxviet@hotmail.com or nguyenxdanny@gmail.com

That is a good idea! But my roof is black. I was actually contemplating paint matching it with the car---or paint matching it with the roof. But I figured I'd just overlay it in real CF instead.
Glad this thread helps! But fair warning it's a lot of work and patience to make it from scratch.

I did the roof spoiler it's not that hard to do......op made it more complicated than what it is.....if you are good with your hands it's not hard just takes time.

Looks like you basically did the same thing I did?
Except I added some fiberglass to help reinforce it
Looks good, did you paint yours?
Also, where did you get yours? The color on the spoiler looks kinda weird.
PICS!

It even follows the lines where the roof meets the glass! And depending on how you shorten it, you can either have the roof spoiler meet from the edge of the glass to the other edge---or the edge of the c-pillar to the other edge.

I've had the install for a while now. I think I posted a 4 minute video of it once actually lol.

After repainting my car, I removed it. Going to take care of a few things [non automotive related] and overlay it in carbon fiber though. I'm sure you'd like that

I agree...ESR and Komodo are working with the vendor to try and have them produce one that fits our car that'll come sized and painted already correctly. I'd love to give it a whirl.

THIS!
Totally agree, CSL + this W212 roof spoiler = TITS. And not the normal kind. The kind from Total Rekall kind.

Hah thanks! I wouldn't say I'm talented... just too much imagination and time on my hands.

Thought I addressed that somewhere, I guess not.
The cupholder was supposed to be a mold [hence the clay] to get an idea and project going for a custom phone holder with a swivelling back plate. It would sit in the front cup holder, angled at 45-60 degrees. I had a Nokia N8 at the time... When I was close to making the actual thing--I realized that 4th gear would hit the tip of the N8. I could have fixed it by moving the back-plate back--but it wouldn't give me the viewing angle of the phone I wanted.
Now I have a Nokia Lumia 920... and this phone is even bigger!
So, that whole project was scrapped. I might revisit that mod in the future since Nokia is making a wireless Qi car charger... and I must have it.

I did have the roof spoiler plastidipped... It was finished long ago. It was dipped cause I didn't have paint and didn't want to put it in my car while transporting ALL my things from Windsor to Montreal... so I installed it. There's a 4 minute long youtube video of it.

BUT I'm thinking about carbon wrapping the roof spoiler. My roof is a metallic black, wasn't sure if my new-custom-paint on the spoiler would look good with a black roof.

I'm not saying it because I'm biased and have/made it.
But it's my favorite and in my opinion the best roof spoiler out there!

I was really lovin' the ATLP v1. Then I somehow came across this W212 roof spoiler. Noticed that it looked similar to the ATLP V1 but with a flare at the end. I knew I HAD to have it.

So, it's basically an ATLP v1 with a bit of flare. Tastefully subtle!

^^^That would explain why the ATLP V1 is the ONLY other one I have liked.
PLEASE do keep us posted on whether or not the ebay vendor will be able to accommodate us.

I was joking about Guitarplayer making me one too. Just messing around.

I agree totally btw...Total Recall all day long...what's better than 2? 3!!!!!
