crisp is in the HOUSE...(Update 5/9/12)

Hi guys and gals!

Just posting my first pic. This is my "new-old" '07 TL-S.

119k miles
Company owned (President's vehicle x2 "tenures" in rotation)
Modestly driven... pretty decent shape.

RUNS GREAT!

Fresh Michelin's, timing belt/water pump/brakes all around/injectors serviced/etc, etc... with good maintenance since purchase. Carbon fiber (faux, of COURSE!) trim package... taupe leather w/navi & camera... pretty basic.

If I told you what I paid... you would all hate me! I think it's a good "depreciated value" deal at $10k... there, I told!

Hope to learn a thing or two... sure you guys will steer me right!

Thanks for checking on my entry to this crowd... I'm a newb to the Acura scene (forum-wise) but been around other sites for a good spell. Supra(s), Tundra, Toyota's in general, SUZUKI'S (2-wheels, of COURSE!) and too many other interests to keep up! (RC vehicles, photography-amateur, car audio... and such, although I MIGHT be able to leave this alone for awhile...)

Oh, yeah... I tend to be verbose!

Nah... they were giving out keys to the Civics for showing up...

Thanks for all the kind words, guys! I know I got a great deal on this... not your typical purchase! (Receipts from company are around $5K this past year!)

...of course, they just had it picked up, serviced, and billed! DOH!

Good for moi...

...hmmm... time for TINT and...?

I don't have a Type-S but, if I did

Red LED's on doors. White inside, trunk, license plate
Type-S lip on rear and sides + Base A-Spec lip on front
CAI
J-Pipe
ATLP exhaust.. if money problems, Stage II exhaust

Appreciate the "priorities" suggestions! I have WAAAY too many mods on ALL my other vehicles... (can't leave well enough alone... heck, my '89 SUPRA has cost me MANY times the TL price over the years in mods and work! DOH!!!)

We'll see on the "mods-list" for this one. My WIFE may have a hissy fit if I get to doing anything... er... OBVIOUS!

Also when you stay here too much, then you go into details
Custom front grill
HID on fogs
Custom headlights + rear
Susp.
Rear sway bar
Spacer
.................... never ends, ooh except your money

Good luck...
Supra still alive? Sold?

What a deal, man!

I assume with the left-over cash, you have already considered the full A-Spec underbody spoiler kit... If not, it should jump to the top of your priorities, just behind some nice tints. I recommend nothing more than 20% all around so you don't have any issues seeing at night. Others may say otherwise, but it's your car!

Welcome to the money pit!

HEY! I need ALL those "details"!!!

...advice on HIDS for the fogs???

Ahhh... the SUPRA???

...

Supra is an "old-school" beast! Owned and tinkered with for over 17 years... and rolled 427rwhp last time I checked. Not bad for a 130k mile STOCK bottom end with a LOT of "bolt-on" stuff!

Thanks for asking! I skinned a LOT of knuckles on that thing!

Hoping the Acura affords me a... er... less PAINFUL ride for the next few years!

Thanks! I AM considering TINT as a high/next priority. The car runs SO nice and "QUIET" compared to all my "other" stuff... so I'm tempted to keep it fairly, shall we say... domesticated?

20% all around (not set on a brow yet...) is where I'm leaning. I wish I had NOT gone two-tone on the Tundra, which looks "good", but could be BETTER with same front/rear...

Welcome Crisp, awesome deal for an awesome car.

Tints on the CBP with stock rims look awesome, I would definitely do that first.

If quiet is your game and you still want some fun, get a j-pipe from one of the vendors here - you won't notice any difference in sound with daily driving, and only minimally when you really get on the gas pedal.

Thank you! The J-PIPE has come up repeatedly here, and I'm DEFINITELY a "performance slut" so I DO appreciate the recommendation and noted indication that it's not "too loud" for daily driving! I actually like a "mature and throaty" exhaust, but always try NOT to select LOOOUD systems for the sake of being HEARD! (Usually, LOUD does NOT often equate to better/best performing!)

I will do some research and likely select such a system... er... soon? (Definitely RSB and TINT are on the list!)

Thanks again,

Millenium Falcon accoutrements + "Flux Capacitor-esque" power-providers + HKS "Tower-of-Power" Alphabet Soup = warp speed amidst a crispmastree of flashy-glowy-chicklet-key thingies...

People end up ogling the colorful light-show and forget to look up when driving at night! It's a regular cacophony of deetle-deetle-deets, bleeps, dings, hiss-whooosh-POP and SHAZZAAAM! You're THERE!

The "crisp-jet-fighter-switch" start-up routine is entertaining enough! (It's practically a SECURITY device, what with the sequence required to FIRE the car!)

WUZSS-UUUPPP!!!

Good to finally BE here, Eddie! Just rollin' in with some early intro's and initial thread shenanigans already!

...so... I DID get a killer deal, but the car was SOOO gently driven, it had a LOT of carbon build-up on the tail-pipes, and after a few crisp-runs up into triple-digits for a spirited "break-in-drive"... it felt a bit "sluggish" on the gentle on/off throttle at lower rpm's... likely a "sticky" throttle butterfly and NEED to BREATHE!!!

I stopped over at my OLD house (vacant for now) and dug through the shed to come up with an early edition "mini-crispmongo-air-filter" unit, then rigged up some 10 minute concoction with silicone coupling (used HKS/orange "hump-piece" with a section of throttle-body diameter sized piping and extension hose for the breather tube junction to just "droop" over top of the coupling and vent to atmosphere for now.

TOTAL COST: $0.00

PERFORMANCE GAIN: SHAZAAAM!

Seriously, a flush/fill with synthetic 5/20 and some good, harsh fuel injector/system cleaner + mini-cripmongo + throttle-body cleaning and a romp-m-stomp-em drive to really "flush-out-the-old-carbon-build-up" and it shifts MUCH more willingly and runs substantially more responsively now!

Here's a pic of the hap-hazzard-shade-tree "FIX" I did to hold me over until I get this thing done "right".

...er... where there's a will there's a way???

PS: THANKS to all the looks and comments, guys! Welcome to my crispventures!

Great pick up man! CBP Type S are sick! And for $10k, being that it was gently used & well cared for...doesn't get much better than that. Your Supra is badass too!

Oh, and you may say that you want to keep things pretty much stock...but trust us, stay around here long enough, and that will change drastically lol! I was once in your same position sir. Car looks sweet as-is, but... If you listen closely...you can already hear your wallet whimpering in fear Welcome aboard!

Also if you going to keep that filter short. Remove the battery cover + the little triangle piece that makes air go in to the pipe that is there...
