Connor Progress Thread

I just purchase alot of things for my 07 5at with navi so I figured I would make a thread to show my progress.

In March 2012 I bought it as a CPO from Ramsey Acura with 48k on it for $19,000.

Today I went and got my windows tinted

I don't want to post alot of pic's because I just sprayed it with the hose to get the adhesive from the tint off.

After I got that done I heard about someone who spray painted the grill (stupid I know) so I decided to try and Plasti Dip my grill:

I'll write a DIY if people request it.

As you can see I have all the needed items -- Plasti Dip, painters tape, water, cheap $10 autozone sockets, screw driver, cookies, and a cigar.

So first I took off the portion of the grill that can be removed and I sprayed it with plasti dip:

The only part left was the part of the bumper so for that:

I taped off part of the bumper to prevent over spray and since I didn't remove the bumper I used a combination of plastic bags and painters tape to cover off the radiator so now plasti dip would get in there, and yes it did work.

And in the end it came out pretty decent for my first time doing it I need to touch it up a bit in some spots but all my friends say it looks like it came from the factory. This picture does no justice because it was getting dark.

Tomorrow I'll be washing the car and posting pics of the tint/grill combo.

Calipers are also coming tomorrow!!

Looking good. Vinyl the roof black, that would look sick on your car.

How did you remove the grill without removing the bumper? I would apperciate it if you could let me know.

Thanks alot man best part is that the tint shop is putting on the vinyl for me since we all know they're good at that tedious shit

Oh and sorry I should have clarified I removed about half of the bumper and learned how flexible our bumpers are.

All I did was remove the one screw in each wheel well and pull it forward enough and I used a very short phillips screw driver and removed the 4 screws and pulled off the part with the A emblem and sprayed it

As for the top silver part there are 4 nuts to remove on the underside of the hood they are coverd by black plugs remove those and use a socket to get it off.

this isn't the best write up I know if you want I'll post some pics up tomorrow and do a full walk through.

Let me know

Your local I believe right?

It's called Eclipse Tinting -- 7418 Military Highwy, Norfolk.

They use Sun-Gard which I read some reviews and apparently it's right up there in terms of quality, they also offered me a lifetime warranty on bubbles, peeling, discoloration and anything else that could go wrong.

$160.

The car and grill look great, but the thing I'm most impressed by is the fact that you're using matches to light your cigar and not a lighter. Good job man

Another crappy, rainy day here in VA, I didn't want to paint with the high humidity and chance of rain so calipers are going to be done tomorrow morning if the weather holds out! I am going to sand down the grill and do another coat to touch up a few spots and then hit the calipers with a coat of high gloss clear coat and the grill with a no gloss clear coat. These were right before I washed and clayed my car. Tomorrow I plan on waxing it again if the rain holds out.

And tomorrow I'll be with a friend who has a real camera, not my iPhone 4

Nice job so far man! I'm interested to see how the vinyl roof comes out for you. I've kicked around the idea of doing it to my car, but failed to pull the trigger.
