CLEAN IVA-W200 Install
I thought I would regret it, but love it more every day. I have 5000 songs on my ipod and reaching into the glove compartment was driving me crazy. I can also expand when im ready.
Installers did a great job of using Vinyl as part of the dash kit. Matches great. I finally got used to the "cut outs" also.

Wow Vinny, that looks amazing!!!! A great alternative for us non-navi ppl. The vinyl matches very well as well. Specs and total price? And how come you didn't do what the car pc owners are doing, moving the LCD display down to the compartments and putting that Alpine system where the LCD used to be?
One problem I think is that the interior of the car looks a little weird with the sort-of half circle shapes on the side b/c I feel that those blue knobs really put a nice touch on the interior witht he blue lights.
Anyway congrats on the install man!!!

As of right now they don't make an adapter kit for my car. I'd have to custom make it. I'm also trying to see if someone is going to hack the background feature. I'm about 70/30, yes/no on getting it.

I saw one installed totally flush in a STI. It looked much better. Mine stick out about 1/8 of an inch, not bad at all. The think I like the most is that the vinyl he used to create the front of the kit matched the pattern and color on the rest of the dash.
At night there is a distinctive blue glow in the car.
I say "go for it" The head unit is 999.00 (US) which is excellent for what you get.

Yeah, I got it (locked in price) at Tweeter for cheaper. I have about 25 days left to decide if I want it. Did they do any custom fabrication on your deck? I JUST realized you were in NoVa.

contact streeteffectz. they make very clean dash kits for the 2gen cars. i have one in my 2gen TL, and it is the cleanest install ive seen to date. mine was the first kit they made, i think they are a little different now.

I planned to. Right now though, I'm looking at $50 cheaper and local. If they have some pictures of how it'll look, I may go there. Keeping me options open.
I'll PM Streeteffectz, but I remember a couple others were asking if he could do the kit for the W200 and he never posted up a yes or no.

More Details
The custom dash kit cost a total of about 200.00. Its made of "whatever" and vinyl. The vinyl is very sturdy and matches the dashboard and trim inside the TL perfectly. I did not do the install myself so I cant get into all the "techy" stuff. I just told the guy "make it look good".
The 200 plays DVD/MP3/WMA/DVD-A/CD/. There is a separate NAV unit that I would have to purchase if I go that route. I plan on adding head rest video screens.
It also has IPOD hookup (songs show on the head unit), XM radio, and auxillary inputs. I could also add a rear camera....for whatever reason.
I was really tired of navigating between the cleansweep and OEM deck with the IPOD. This gives me everything at the tip of my fingers. I also got tired of navigating the different volume settings between the stock head unit and clean sweep.

Gotta lock down someone to do this custom surround. One of these days the Other aftermarket is going to catch up on this thing, but I can't wait for that. I still haven't heard from StreetEffectz and one of the retail stores wants 400 bucks to do something custom with NO pictures of his work. Riiiiight.
(On Topic)-Updates on how you like it? Still hoping for a hack on the background screens.

Beautiful man. I pmed you about the whole install. Wondering if we could meet up. I'm about to purchase a SSM this weekend non navi.. and want to do this install right away.. How long did it take them? did you buy the screen there?

Very nice Installation!
I like the install you did! Looks great. Did you ever consider putting the screen down were the two little compartments are and leaving the control knobs for the radio were they are? By the way, does your control for the XM radio and cd unit operate from the new nav screen? If so then that is out of site awesome!

Very nice!!
Now you don't need the cleansweep anymore correct? So I am guessing you don't use the oem screen anymore besides controlling the heating system?

I was considering putting the screen where the two compartments are, but that would have required much more "cutting, fabrication" etc. This allows me to easily place the the stock radio back in if I ever want to.
You are correct, the screen is used for DVD/NAV (not installed yet)/IPOD/XM/RADIO, everything audio related.
I was able to get rid of the clean sweep after installing the HU.

Now that you are running the Alpine and eliminating the Clean Sweep, do you notice any difference in sound quality such as clearity from the mids and tweets and base from the subs?

The entire install was about 1300.00. The custom vinyl dash kit was about 200.00. It was pretty slick that they matches the same pattern on the dashboard.
