I'm so confused on what I'm going to do. I know I'm getting new bulbs and switchbacks. I'm still contemplating on getting the Navi system. I'm talking to someone in trading me there Type-S rear and ATLP quad exhaust atm. I've always, in the back of my head, wanted to keep the wheels cause they look pretty nice, but the mother decided to curb all 4 wheels driving my car one day (I'd get them powdercoated, but everyone needs the wheels taken off the tires). Choices, choices, and more choices.

Would everyone go exterior mods first, or would you guys go performance mods first if you had to do it again?

The problem is that "weak" is relative...+30 is NOT weak and allows you to roll fender and run near 0 camber. I personally like the look of a flush but straight wheel rather than a 12" wheel and pulled fenders and negative 9 camber. But that's MY opinion.
Great progress thread, man...great looking car. Personally, I'd keep on rockin those G37 wheels...although I'd remove the plastidip...they have such a gorgeous finish, are light, are 19's and are a quality rim.
PS...I half expected to see a documentation of you getting a boner. You know... "the champs semi: progress thread" LOL.

Thanks

Yes sirrr
Looks great, especially your headlights. That's exactly what I want to do with mine. I have the Nav and it's nice but I don't think I would pay 2k if I didn't have it. There are much better things to spend that money on.

^the non-nav looks really bad imo. It feels incomplete. It is almost like what everyone said on the wheels. Nice shirt, nice pants, nice boxers, nice hat, nice 8-pack, but dollar store shoes! I just seems the car was right in every aspect, but look cheap on that point. I'm still undecided because spending $2k on something I'd use only like once a week or on long trips, even though I have my iPhone/iPad to keep me company and with GPS, seems useless. You'll also love to realize I love to contradict myself a lot because I can never decide on anything. :x
I kinda want these:

Wish the widths weren't that much and THAT OFFSET.

what wheels are 40 lbs?!
I dig the specs on n30's wheels and tires and I think you can pull it off with ur black TL
btw, do you have a diy or process you followed for detailing?

was being sarcastic...saying that 40 pounds is a lot.
FK YES...those wheels are gorgeous.
About the Navi...honestly, a lot of these ideas are just in our head. I don't think the interior looks any less great with no navi. IF I was hellbent on putting it in...I'd rather spend 1/3 of the money and learn how to do bodywork to fill in the 2 1/2 circles on the side garnishes to custom mount in a pioneer avic or kenwood touchscreen. One that I could wire up to reverse cam/navi/bluetooth/dvd player and everything else. Plus, that would be a good start to a great system.

The wheels on sale look really good, question is do you have a lot of potholes on your commute.. I am not sure but I thought the 5zigen are soft and can get bent... again I could be confusing it with another set.. I did a bunch of research before I bought my aspec wheels.. but that was awhile ago and my memory only retains about 2 days worth of info

^I've decided against. I thought 5zigen was one of those 'quality' wheels that people were saying (Volk/Enkei). I'm going to still look around and see what I like. The XXR 530 is still an option because of its pricing.

Buffer (PC 7424XP newb-proof)
2 Buckets with Grit Guards
Car Soap (any will do)
Pads, pads, and more pads (for buffer- I use 3 white 3 yellow 2 orange 1 black)
Any decent polish like Menzerna/Meguiars(M105/M205)/Prima Poilish and a decent Wax (not your cheap stuff from the auto parts store-- Turtle Wax and Armor All = bad)
Tons of quality Microfiber towels
Wheel cleaner
APC (All purpose cleaner)
Sheepskin Mit
Apply wheel cleaner/APC for tires and engine bay wipe, rinse, dry
Rinse Car
Soap in one bucket - Water in the other (rub mit on grit guard in the water only than rub it in the soap bucket)
Wash Car from top to bottom (wipe from a left to right motion-- not in circles)
Rinse Car (do no dry)
Get Clay and Lube (Detailing Spray) and Clay Car
Wash Car Again
Dry car
Bring car inside Garage or away from Sunlight
Use compound to rid of small scratches
Polish for larger scratches
Use 50-50 Alchohol (rubbing) and water mix to wipe down the Polish/Compound
Once done-- wash car again
Dry Car
Apply Tire Dressing and Wax wheels, condition anything else (plastics) and Wax Car.

They kinda look like the RJ Legends.
They kinda look cheap (?). Never heard of the brand. :x
I'm not digging the bronze/gold on a black car yet, maybe in the future. I'm still a Chrome Black/Silver/Gunmetal type of person.

I would hold off on getting wheels for now since you have those nice g37s. Why don't you think about an upgrade on suspension maybe some coils perhabs, or beef up your whp just a bit with: CAI, p2r,and a nice exhaust system me personally I heard XLR8 on mrlal8 car and I fell in love
Also if you still wanna paint your car black look at Bently "Black"
OEM CODE is 9561002
PPG CODE is RRB9561002

Well, you DID say they were were all curbed which was why you wanted to hide that, no?
WELL, there is an amazing DIY that will give you the confidence to refinish them yourself.

If you have medium-to-high scratches, you can use M205 on a orange pad.
Each pad has its cut. Orange pads is usually for medium polishing (basically for medium scratches).
White pad is for minor imperfection (M105/light scratches).
Black is for Wax (if I remember right).
Yellow Pad is for high amount of scratching.
Try a quick pass using M105 on a white pad and see if it takes away the scratches. You don't want to put a high cutting pad if you don't need it because it will end up scratching it. Make sure to spray detailing spray on pad before use)

I don't know what I did wrong, but it just doesn't come out right. I bought 3 cans of duplicolor silver and clear and it turned into the most ugliest color ever. It looked like I had hubcaps on

Hmmm...that is ODD!
Ok, fine, then get them professionally repaired and powdercoated a color you love. Color match to the car...or go with a nice dark gunmetal that'll hide brake dust! AND CALL IT A DAY! There...now you'll have some awesome 19" enkeis in a custom color with Acura center caps and you'll forget they came off a G.

^fine I'll listen to the great rockstar and keep them as they are for now.
Imagine your TL had no Navi, could you deal not having the Navi everyday (whether for looks or for use).
And what black do you guys like. Bentley Black looks nice like the other guy said. Always been a fan of Jet Black.

My girlfriend made a good point today. If I were to paint the TL the near 'same' shade of black as the NBP, than there is no point. I'm thinking about doing Carbon Black just because of the rarity and that it doesn't just 'look like every TL on the road'.
Your GF is right however, any shade of black is going to look the same at 20 feet or beyond. The point is that you know your TL looks different than all the other TL's on the road and you're happy with it because in all honesty...99% of people on the road won't know your shade of black is any different than any other NBP TL.

^exactly.
To be honest, I always wanted a KBP/Blue car (as my first car). So I guess I get the best of both worlds with Carbon Black. Blue in the daytime, and black at night. So I'm decided on that aspect, at least for now.
Now I'm debating if I want to spend the rest of money on Navi + other aesthetic mods or get a S/C with J&R ECU + exhaust mods. Maybe I can go with the Navi J&R ECU and exhaust mods and ditch the S/C and save up for the Turbo. Choices and choices

I just saw a 2nd Gen that repainted his nbp to Glacier Frost Mica (Lexus color)...I LOVE IT.
I agree, keep it oem color if you go black OR go with another color altogether and do jambs, just not the engine bay!
PS, thanks for the compliment above, just saw that.

Oh...well if it's gotta be BLACK...then pick that blue that came on the E46 M3's in the early 2000's. OR, KBP, OR, that new blue that comes on the new civics. THAT color blue is absolutely orgasmic.
