Brianinthe610, this will not stop
Hello to all the members of this forum and those visiting.
I am starting this thread as the new birth of my 2004 TL. The 2 pictures shown below are pictures of my car upon purchase on 20 Feb 2013. The TL was originally just going to be a normal DD for me with no mods or anything, mostly because of the M3 I just sold and the 330i ZHP that I planned on doing most of my funzies with. But plans changed as they always do and I decided that I wanted to stand out and do a car that nobody has really done in my area as well as doing it right.
Please don't judge the pictures for the were taken with an iphone4 in my garage
I will say that since this pictures that the TL has been tinted and air as well as wheels our on its way. With that being said, I'm going to keep ya guessing on details of whats to come.
Plans within the next 2 months:
Air suspension ( on its way )
Leon Hardiritt ( on their way)
Headlight mods as well as other exterior lighting/accents ( no, not neons )
Front lip / bumper modification
Heavy fender work if needed to make the car fit the wheels
Further plans by September this year:
Exhaust with more aggressive look and sound
Vinyl wrap the roof
Prepare car for the winter! After all, it is a DD

From a Beamer to a TL ? Nice !
So all future mods will be done by September ?
That sometimes takes members on azine a couple years to get that far.

it was a little different than that haha i was leasing a hyundai sonata and then found the m3 for a reasonable price so mess around with, did some work on it and then sold it and got a newer 330i in replace. ended up giving the bmw to my girl for christmas and when the lease was up on the sonata this past february I got the tl!! I had no intentions to do anything to the tl and was gunna mess around with the bmw here n there but plans change

lets go
Okay I know it has been a bit but with last week being the last week of school n all I haven't been very active anywhere except at school. Yes it's true the bags came about 2 weeks ago and YES they are on the car.
The kit is the Ksport Airtech Pro Kit including (as shown in the picture below) 1 five gallon air tank, 2 compressors, Ksport mgmt sysem, as well as a full LED remote and secondary keychain strd 3 button remote. The system offers 4 different ride presets; H height, m1 , m2 , L low
Took the plastics and strut bar off in the engine bay, removed the rear seats and carpeting from the trunk. In the picture you will see that the compressors and tank look as if they are mounted to the back seat. The system came with a carpeted wooded board that we then mounted to the x brace behind the back seat (with a 2x4 in between to fill space and add support). All lines and wiring are ran through the car to prevent tears rather than underneath. The whole installation was done in my buddy's driveway broken up into 2 days probably about 15 hours total.
There is LOTS of fine tuning. Not only are you dealing with the tuning of coils but now the tuning of an airbag on top of the coil. Plus all of this was new to both of us so obviously it took longer and more of a pain in the ass than would have for a "professional"
I need to say I do not have many pictures, actually only 3 and they are both crappy. I am still waiting for the wheels to be done and shipped and a day to give it some detailing love before I go out taking pictures n all. So hopefully soon, even if it is before the wheels come I can post up some better quality pics cause I know these ones wont do any justice.
Currently the setup is lowered 2.25" in the Front on the coil when completely air out and then another about 4" in the rear. The reason for huge difference is again the fine tuning. The system has a 36way dampening adj and it is currently at 18. To run at preferred bag pressure (70f/50r) the the front struts had to be raised up another 3/4" but now that it is raised the stiffening on the dampening needs to be lower, thinking down to about 6 because now I am seriously bouncing all over the road. So yes all the fine tuning that is required is quite the annoyance but I can't complain. It seems as with every adj done, the car rides better and better so there is progress. So when the new wheels come the adj are going to have to be made allllllll over again and it will be more fun headaches. I'm probably leaving a bunch out so I will be back on to edit and answer questions. thanks!
