Bored of the TL after 2years

Well I finally got bored of my TL after 2 years. I was really thinking about trading the car in for something else. The only other car i would rather have is a new corvette but I'm not ready to pay 400 a month on insurance. So I decided it make some changes to the TL. So within a week I got new rims, blacked out all the lights, got a CAI, and the front mesh grill. I think this will keep me good for another two years.

Doing all of that is certainly cheaper than trading in on a Corvette, which you will tire of after a few years also......

Next year drop it and put on an A-Spec kit and you'll be happy for another year or two

Yeah i really want a C6 but I figured i'll wait 2 more years and look for a used Z06, there's not much you can move up from a Z06 unless you spend alot more money.

I mean look at this

Well for $42,000 you can get the new 2008 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. 500HP.

Its a nice car for the price. The Vette is also a very nice vehicle but more money.

yeah i wanted to go with something bigger but i just didnt feel like putting more money into the car. I figure 1100 was a good price for new rims and tires. I actually went to the discount tires just to buy tires for my stock rims but ended up with new rims.

I agree with k shawn and acuraghost....iam too bored with the TL....im getting a 335 coupe. But im trading in my car, and my parts will be in the black market in a bout a week or 2. I believe we all did the mods to quick and theres So little to do with this car its easy to get bored if modding is what your into.

Honestly...I too find myself bored with the TL. I have been considering the supecharger upgrade...but dayum..the cost of it compared to trading it off for an EVO that can make way more power, is way more moddable, with way less money is attractive I must say. But I do understand...that is another class car and not a luxery vehicle.

I've had mines for about 11 months and grew bored after just owning it for about 6 months.
Its a fun car to drive, but thats it.
Im not sure what i'll get next so we shall see.

Good luck getting one for that price. Great car/value, yes...going for sticker, no.

Wait for the Challenger SRT-8...it looks 100X's better than the Charger or 300C.

Exactly! and a lot more issues that can come up with turbo upgrades...how many road trips you wanna go on with a 4-500HP 2.Liter engine..and so on and so on. It depends what you want in the long run. Performance or Comfort. You can get both but IMO its limited with the TL. I got it because i've wanted one for a while. Figure it would make a nice family lux car when paid off and the kids start popping out but still have some modding capabilities.( we'll see how long that last) Im happy with mine. My income limits my modding so mine is spaced out over a long period of time

Its been a year and everytime I look at the car I know exactly why I got it

When a better looking car comes out, i'll trade for that. The *ONLY* car on my watch list is the new G35 coupe, and i'm not getting that till a couple years after it comes out.

I'll stick with my TL for a couple of more years to save my pennies.

Can you tell that the Corvette is my true love. lol

I know....I know....I should. Its hard not to want that dang car with those guys popping into the 11's in a 1/4 mile and ruling the autocross circuit. But fact is...everybody has those cars right now....so I am one of the few that dares to be different in our group with the NONEVO or NONSUBIE car. Everybody does like the TL in our particular group.....but I still fail to hang with the big boys when it comes to performing out on the autocross and drags. And when I look at the SC....when/if I get one...I am likely to just be up to snuff at that point performance wise....they will still get me in speed due to my heavy weight....so it is what it is...and you guys do make a good point...you can only get so much performance-wise out of it. So I do enjoy the TL still....just....I tend to get bored with most cars after about 24 months. Does this mean I get a new car every 24 months...nope. Its like you guys have stated...you must have a purpose in mind when you buy the car...and to some degree...I guess my interests changed a bit since then and I have started to get into autocrossing and racing/performance challenges....and this is one heavy mutha to be tooling around some of these circuits in!
