Black Out Baby
Hi Acuraziners,
I am not on the boards as much as I have been in the past years. My passion for modifying cars died in one year of having the car. My car got vandalized by high school kids and I have a super long key mark on from the rear towards the front fender. I rather not post pictures of it, I don't want to scare any of you. I have yet to paint my entire car because I am a student with plenty of loans out for tuition . Besides the fact, I decided to make a bold move by replacing my front bumper with an '05 bumper off MY AMAZING BOYFRIEND, TIMOTHY's OLD TL. Although they are different shades of Anthracite, I rather have that than a crack bumper. ( a tire flew on the freeway, hitting and chipping about 30-40% of the paint off.. my front aspec lip lives!! )
Being around the Socali acurazine boys, I learn to love the clear out and blacked out headlights. So I attempted to join the group with the assistance of my boyfriend (ib18c1). We worked on it from 12-5ish because there were problems with bulbs and the outside of the headlights. We worked on it and here is now we manage to do it.
More pictures of final product will be up soon ! Btw. i refuse to drop my car.. i like my monster truck status on my TL because i SCRAP even with stock suspension. Don't hate, i really like going fast on speed bumps. It's not a female driver's perceptive because I see boys do it all the time!!!
February 15, 2008 ( newly installed aspec)
February 20, 2008, The TIRE of Death.. there has been more damage from the wear and tear of driving.
Pre- Operation
Switching out the bumpers ( i didn't erase my lic. plate number)
Open it up!
Had to spray paint the light housing, semi-flat black.
Sealed the headlight back together and now polishing it.
final product coming soon.. when i finish de-hazing it.

Yeah I agree with you.. I rather have mismatched bumpers then a cracked one and I can almost bet that the paint mismatch is going to be noticed by no one else besides you guys because we're all anal and its our cars. I can almost bet that no one else will even catch it.
Smart moves to do the headlights while you had the bumper off. Waiting for post op pics!

Its good to see that you are back! If you want to get those key marks looking a bit better, you can follow this DIY:
Clean the area with rubbing alcohol
Apply touchup paint slowly (over multiple days) in layers until it is past the surface of the surrounding good paint
Take some 2000 grit sandpaper and sand the area lightly until the touchup paint is level
Follow up with 3000 grit sandpaper
Take some Medium Cut compound and clean up the area
Take some Light Cut compound and clean up the area
Wipe with rubbing alcohol once again to make sure all the scratches are gone.
Polish as necessary.

THANK U sir.
Pictures will be up tomorrow.
Yeah i know. I think it's suppose to be that way though. I fit inside the car.. NOW, it would be weird if I was BIGGER than the bumper.
thanks for the support nonetheless
ib18c1 (tim) will post the pictures soon.. I HOPE.. I will do a better shot of it in the day light. It's still a bit hazy after wet sanding and all.. we'll see the results in a few days. If not we will have to open it up again and sand the inside.

I know but I really cant deal with driving a lower car. I was practicing stick shift and i scrap the bottom of tim's car. BTW, i live in Riverside County and there are a lot of "BROS" with lifted trucks. It's only natural to be one of them. YAY for off roading by the river brah.

+1 most benzes are meh
You are gonna have to get one sick ass benz for it to be nicer than Tims car. Heck your car as it sits right now is better looking than most benzes.
