Aspec survives but bumper =/

Thank god, I didn't listen to you guys. If I had the drop, I would have died today.

Today I was heading out to get stuff for my dad with my brother and sister. We headed on the 60 fwy in the mid-morning traffic. It's not that bad because we were heading east from LA. Anyways, I was in the middle lane driving 70mph i think. All of a sudden.. I saw a tire with nails in it heading in front of my car. I knew I couldn't go into any other lane, I would have killed someone, maybe me or some other driver. I just let the tire hit my car at full impact, 60-70mph.

I headed off the fwy, the front bumper is damaged.. the exhaust has been bruised but not bent, and the rear bumper came loose.. otherwise, driver and passengers survived the horrific event.

bad luck, yesterday feb. 17.2008

afterwards, Feb.18.2008

My brother wanted to mock the situtation.. AZN PRYDE? Ricer status.

My other thread is pointless.

paint job is the next mod. a dark anthracite baby!

You definitely did the right thing by not swerving and causing a major accident. Thank goodness, because it could have been a lot worse. The damage doesn't look too bad. You plan on going the same color or painting the car a little darker?

Yes i did the right thing. My mom is playing the pointing finger game with me. She says that I only know how to drive foward, YET i can give her an accurate image of foward, left, right, and back of my car. Anyways paint job, I am going to get a custom anthracite.. if you guys notice from the previous pictures, mine was in between AMP and NBP.. I love it, it was the color I wanted if I got the IS300.

No more photoshoots.. and defintely not going to any car meets till night rider is fixed.

...reminds me of the time when my roomate told me to look in the rearview mirror at the lightning storm, and in doing so ran straight over a tire. The splitter received the bulk of the wrath, and the aspec survived. The aspec front lip is extremely durable.

Good job on maintaining vehicle position in your immediate lane.

Glad you guys are ok, and nothing major happened. Car or car parts can be replaced so don't worry about that. Hope nothing like that happens again.

I'm still baffled on how you were able to see nails in a tire at 70 mph! I need to check my vision.

You NEED NBP! Now's your chance! Do it!

P.S. - Props on the tire handling, but can I get some of that you smokin' that lets you spot nails in a tire at 70 MPH??? Dayuummm guurrlll, steroid eyes and whatnot!

I can paint my car NBP, but my dad has a black car.. it attracts a lot of scratches and swirls. PLUS, you know better than to tell me that. NBP has the most bad luck on acurazine. Stolen, deer collision.. etc

& yes i saw nails in the tire..and its visible on the car.

Come on guys, metal embedded in a tire...what else can it be but nails?

That sucks Lisa. I'm starting to think that Anthracite is bad luck too... *knock on wood*

First it was some jealous high school kid hating on you, now tires are after your car too.

I just think i have bad luck. My other car, I scratched because of the garage. that's for not wearing glasses and thinking that you are smarter than your dad.

maybe my parents should have given me a honda civic hybrid. "BALLIN"

I know you are not talking about that dang curse thing again??? AARRGGHHH!!!

Question: Has anyone ever considered the possibility that the reason more NBPs get damaged than other cars, is based on the fact that, and hold onto something...that we are the MAJORITY car color on this board??

90% NBP owners means more NBPs are likely to list more incidents than other car colors on this forum...ok, ok, ok, I kid...85%!!
