Thanks guys, so I decided on what color to paint my rims. Going to be painting them Matte Bronze. I'm buying Duplicolor Bronze Wheel Paint and then a Matte Clear Coat to spray over it.

I'm going for something like this:

Just a little darker

welcome! car looks great!
i have a question however: how does a car go about entering an auction? just a personal question...

as for the all season floor mats, i say go for it. i have a set of black ones in my car and they flush well with everything. they do the job; theyre pretty dirty currently. btw, i think there's a tan color, yeah? you could always just buy a matching set?

White is synonymous with a woman's bridal gown.. so I would have to disagree..

Well I think you need a dealer license first, then at the auction you pay a fee to put your car on the auction to sell. At the auction place, there are different lanes. There are about 20 something lanes. Some companies get their own lane, while others may have to share. Honda Financial, BMW Financial, and other big companies have their own lane. Then there are the private dealership lanes. Usually at these type of auctions, people go for the bigger companies like Honda Financial or whatever because these cars haven't been flipped or played around with. Most of them are lease returns. These companies aren't in it for the money they just want to get rid of it. These other "private" dealerships who put their cars up on auctions usually flipped it and are trying to sell it out for more. Say they received a busted car and it wasn't reported to CarFax, all they can do is do the body work, clean up the insides, tune up the engine and sell it back out as a mint car. That's why it's harder to sell personal cars at auctions because others don't know what you did to the car since they know you're in it for the money. I personally wouldn't buy from these "private" lanes because I don't trust them. Car could have been in a severe accident and I wouldn't know (sometimes accidents don't get reported).

Hey what's going on guys?
It's been a while since I updated this thread but about a week before I headed back to school I painted my wheels flat black because that's all they sold at the Autozone near me. I left the center piece silver.

Here are some pics:

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pictures!

Next up on the list might be black vinyl roof and flat black grill with just the silver emblem.

There was just a DIY on wrapping the front grille with black vinyl. I think it looks good and it is on my to-do list. I just bought my 04 6mt with 90K for 11.5 about 5 months ago and its my first car as well. Good luck to you.

It's been over a year since I posted in this thread. I'm still very much in love with my TL and there has been some progress since then. I've been doing small mods here and there. No major mods yet!

But just to update you guys, here are some pics of my baby:

I painted the grille with Plastidip in August. It came out looking awesome! It has an OEM feel to it and it's holding up well after many roadtrips back home from college.

In August I also swapped my stock HID bulbs with aftermarket 6000K HID bulbs from DDMTuning and I also switched the fogs from 2500K Nokya bulbs to 3000K HID bulbs from DDMTuning.

6000K Low Beams

My latest mod is the Cold Cathode License Plate Mod. I bought a set of cold cathode bulbs from Microcenter and replaced my failing LED license plate bulbs.

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pictures . I'll try to take more pics with a real digital camera next time.

Happy Holidays everyone! Also if you guys haven't, please donate some money to the AcuraZine Holiday Drive. I know many of us are very fortunate to own Acuras, so let's donate some of that spare change we have in our pockets (it can be anything) just so a child somewhere can receive a toy they want.

Thanks for viewing my thread

So after a year, you are still using your cell phone to take pics. It's ok though.

Anyway nice looking ride.

Damn, can't believe it's been 2.5 years since I bought the TL. I forgot I had this thread up so just to give you guys a quick update on my TL.

In the Summer of 2010, I PlastiDipped my grille black

In the Spring of 2011, I brought a set of UA7 headlights and had them modified by JnC. He painted the inside glossy black, painted the chrome strip black, and added USR clear diffusers. I added Morimoto 5000K bulbs, V-LED DRL bulbs, and V-LED Type 2 Switchbacks.

From the last pic, you can see that my car took a hit on the lower right bumper. Stupid Syracuse winters...

Now on to the next.. I was able to purchase and install one of the RV6 True Dual exhaust systems.

Then I had the Type-S A-Spec kit installed..

This is how my car sat for a month or so in July

As you can see, my flat black stockies were chipping so I resanded and painted it over again with PlastiDip.

So this is how my car sat at the beginning of August.. the front bumper.. errrrr.

Anyway.. so one night a buddy and I decided to grab some 53rd and 6th in the city.. a truck passes by and hits my driver side mirror and proceeded to drive off. I was lucky I was in my car at the time and chased him down a block. Apparently he "didn't know he hit my car". I jotted his info down and his company eventually paid me $175 for the mirror. The next day I met up with a fellow AcuraZine member and bought a mirror of him for $35... the only thing was.. that it was blue.

I was rocking a blue mirror for the first half of August. A few weeks later, I found a steal in the Black Market. I was able to grab a full bumper from a member for a great price... but it was blue.. again.

About a week after I installed the rear A-Spec lip, I got swiped by a driver coming out of his parking spot while I was parked overnight. I don't have any pics but I ended up getting that painted along with the UA7 bumper, rear bumper, mirror, and upper/lower grilles.

Here is how she sat mid-August

That same weekend, I traveled down to Central Jersey and had AckTL05 install the Accord fog-light switch along with HID 3000K fogs. Afterwards I purchased vinyls from BlueBats and here's how she looked at the end of August.

Then I installed the roof overlay from BlueBats

And also an eBay lip (IMO, the best looking eBay lip for the TL)

And here's just a random reflection I took of my car

But yeah that's all folks, this is how my car sits as of October. I can't do much to it now since I'm back in school for 1 more year. I do however have some plans for it this Winter..

Is the 07/08 front bumper a direct replacement for the 04-06's?? I've wanted fogs. and the 07/08 bumper just looks so much nicer.

Also, did you have to cut the exhaust openings to get the type-s aspec rear on??

They are Acura RL brake calipers. These calipers are much bigger than the stock automatic TL calipers.

The 07/08 front bumper is a direct replacement. You have to do some wiring to get the fogs hooked up though. Look into the Accord fog light harness, it's makes everything look really clean.

And yes I had to cut the exhaust opening to get the Type-S A-Spec rear lip on.

Thanks everyone.

BTW, I just did the 3rd/4th gear pressure switch and a 1x3 of Redline Racing ATF. The gears are definitely shifting much smoother. Definitely a must do!

Just a quick update, I picked up a set of XXR 522s 2 weeks ago

Here's how they look on the car

I want to lower it but I won't be able to until the Spring time so this is how my car is going to look for now. I want to get spacers for the front and the rear.. does anybody know what size spacers will I need to make the tires flush with the wheel well? I have 235/35/19s tires and my wheels are 19x8.5 +38. There is a bit of a stretch on the tires.

My tints are 35% actually.

I'm probably going to get mine redone soon with 20% though.

Thanks for the comments everyone.

Btw I forgot to post this up

I bought an AEM 3x9 DryFlow filter off Amazon

Hooked it up to a cheap eBay CAI pipe for the TL

And installed it on my car.. it fits great

When I ordered the intake, I just asked for the pipe. I forgot to ask the guy to include the hardware so right now my intake isn't mounted to anything. I think it should be okay for the time being. I'll probably make a bracket sometime in January.

Not bad for a ~$80 intake.. it sounds great and my car pulls much harder now (surprisingly).
