Dude, what is the status of your Carbon Fiber hood? Was it salvageable or are you going in a different direction with it?

 

Speaking from experience Steven. They will be able to sand the gel/clear coat an re-clear it.

 

I would buy that hood from him in a heartbeat....would even trade my hood so he doesnt need to buy another one LOL

the CF hood is salvageable. they are sanding down the original clear coat, and replacing it with 2-3 NEW coats of high resistant clear.

^ totally understand. good thing about this "incident" is that the new clear they are putting on will be tinted so that it's darker and doesn't show it's age so much. these things tend to lose their "pop" over the years getting beat down on by the sun, as you know.

honestly, i just told the painter to do whatever color he wanted. when i first met him, he was flipping a nickel and chewing on a toothpick. he had a trustworthy face so i trusted my gut on this one.

painter is also fixing 6 little dents on my car. 2 on drivers door, one on rear quarter panel driver side, one on rear quarter pasenger side, one on the front bumper and one on the trunk.



i'm going in saturday to approve the new paint color and i should have it back in my posession by the end of next week.
