Soooo i just got off the greenway down here in NC and i overheard some vultures off in the grass. They were talking about heading to Baltimore because there is a freshly painted car or something of that nature that needs to be scratched on. I hope they weren't talking about your car.

How did your plasti dip hold up? Did any off it chip or peel before you removed it? When you washed your car, did you use a PW on the wheels? Any harm done?

plasti dip held up great, granted it was only on for a few months. nothing chipped or peeled at all.

when i would wash the wheels, i would just use regular car wash soap and a mild brush with a garden hose.

on the other side of things, when you do start to spray the plasti dip on...make sure you cover EVERYTHING 100% the same. i found that when i started to remove the plasti dip with wd40/power washer...it came off great on the face and barrel of the wheel, but not so much on the inside spokes. depending on what wheel you have, the design can make it easier/harder to apply evenly.

so, now i'm left with this...all the inside spokes still have some purple paint on them bc the plastidip wasnt layed down evenly on those certain spots. it'll scratch off with your fingernail, but takes way too damn long...so i'm searching for a way to remove it with some sort of solvent/chemical without damaging the wheel finish. i'm open to suggestions. i've tried goof-off, nail polish remover, 3m adhesive remover, doesn't seem to work well at all.

everyone else stay tuned for pics today. car was covered in frost/ice this morning tho so i hope it melts off soon.

Use a lot of goo gone and let it sit for a minute. Then scratch it off with your fingernail or something plastic.

I peeled mine off my wheels recently all with my hands, took about 5 hours. My wheels were dipped for about 9 months. Really wish I had a pressure washer to take it off. Never doing that again.

ok i'll give the goo gone another try. i need to find a nice plastic scraper small and strong enough to fit in between the spokes.

Hey Shark, I just pressure washed mine off and I guess I got lucky. I didnt have any spots of the actual paint, there were some areas that the plastidip really stuck on, I had to spray wd40 and pick at it with a small screwdriver.
Hope that crap comes off.
