Edmunds says curb weight is 3563 lbs.

I like the look that rockstar has, but might not be as sold if his calipers weren't brighter than the wheels. I'll probably go silver when I do order.

To me, if you go with black centers...they look like there's nothing there from a distance. Light gives definition to the center of the wheel and contrast. That's the winner. I should try and convince you all to get other caps so we don't match.

but thanks!

Haha, soon it'll be another piece for the 3G TL starter kit. Aspec kit, painted brembos, window visors, headlight/taillight mods, and Advan RS with silver centre caps.

Bill at OfficialThreeTwenty posted a youtube video with some quick rolling/carwash footage of the car after the wheel install. Check it out if you'd like!

you get $5 for traffic to the site, huh...

with 235, negative 3 camber and your ride height, I'm wondering if a pull was really necessary.
looks good, but damn you canadas and not using tire shine.

Haha, I wish! I'll probably start re-hosting some of the images here on Acurazine, since I don't like making people click away from the site. At the same time though, it's really nice of my buddy to do full length features on the recent updates. He's a great writer and photographer, so I want to make sure he gets credit, and some traffic.

It doesn't seem like it, but it definitely was. From the outside it looks like there's pretty good clearance, but before, when the inside of the fender was L shaped, there was only a few mm. I could definitely run more neutral, and more low, but since its my only car and I drive it every day, I decided to stay more conservative.

As for tire shine, nothing against it. We've just come out of winter, when its completely useless, so maybe I just need to get in to the habit. It'll be out in full force for upcoming shows.

horse ejaculate works best

i've been trying that megs gel and it's pretty tenacious if you're good about wiping excess off. chemical guys is good too but looks dry after a few days.

you could try rubbing your balls on the tires. but that's a totally unrelated suggestion.

Yikes. Been a while since my last update.
Originally I was all set to enter one of YYC's big season-opener car shows, Driven. I found out a couple weeks in advance that I was 'cut' from that show for not having a chassis/mod list that was impressive enough compared to the registration demand they had. This left me feeling pretty unmotivated, since I take a lot of pride in the work I've done.
Short story long, I have some good friends in one of the largest car clubs in town, which was also a major sponsor and not subject to those 'cuts' that my original group was. So, when someone dropped out, I was able to take their spot. Here's a couple shots.

Unfortunately the whole thing has left me feeling somewhat unmotivated and I've started to turn my attention elsewhere. I've also spent through the whole budget I had for the car, so I'm not making much progress lately. Hopefully you guys like the pictures, It's definitely the cleanest It will be all year.

Small update: Turns out I've got a pretty nasty oil leak... We tried replacing what looked to be the source: Oil Filter Housing Gasket (a really cool little gasket with a tiny mesh screen in it). There was definitely a leak there, but unfortunately it didn't solve the problem. There's still a decent sized leak, so worst case is front main seal, but the pump seal is a possibility. Really hoping its not the main, since that's a big project.

Next show in August. Stay tuned for a new windshield banner and a car wash... Those are the only update on the mod list. -_-

I've also decided to start storing the car for winter. I've invested too much to drive it in the ice, snow, and salt up here in Canada. I'm looking at a used CR-V for winter, but would be interested to know your guys suggestions. AWD SUV/Wagon is preferred (for ski trips! )

I hope you find the leak quickly!

Storing this for the Alberta Winter is a very smart idea.....

turned out it was the pump seam, like thoiboi suggested. The fix, as many know, involved dropping the sub-frame and a lot of other annoying wrench work. Since that was all going on, I had the main seal, as well as all other gaskets and pressure rings, replaced and re-sealed. I also had the timing belt replaced, even though it was only 20k miles old. The peace of mind knowing that its all taken care of any good for a very long time is nice, but the hole in my wallet is not.

Looking in to a new livery for the upcoming show mid-august. A little more aggressive than I've done before, but hopefully not too much. Worst case: I peel it all off again - they're just stickers, after all.

damn man I bet that was a pricey bit of work

Your car looks so sick in those pics. Good choice on storing the car for the winter, I also store mine. Its just not worth it for us to drive around in the winter here

I'm fortunate to have a great garage who does great work. I got a good deal on the parts and labor, but it still wasn't cheap. Thanks for the compliment! Storing it for the winter was always the goal, but just not possible last year. Finding a cheap and reliable winter will be a tough task though, those two things don't always go hand in hand...

how much was it for the oil pump seal work? when i had a shop do my 105k service, they mentioned about that leak but it was another 600 to fix it. coupled with the 105k bill, i felt that the "topping off the oil" fix was the best route at the time haha

Yesterday was illmotion Sunday School car show, which is one of the major 'tuner focused' shows in YYC. I was proud to have the car there with 250 or so other builds from around town. I'm hoping there will be more high quality pictures coming out based on how many people Isaw walking around with DSLRs, but here's the quick snap that made it to my Instagram.

I wanted to do something that helps the car stand out a little more, and I'm a ricer at heart, so a tasteful side-stripe seemed like the right choice. A good friend of mine owns a vinyl company, so it's very easy and inexpensive for me to try things like this, and if I don't like it, I can always just peel it off.

Also, it's actually a dark grey vinyl with a really nice metallic flake. A very close match for the wheels, and the flake size is very close to the paint itself. It looks fantastic in the bright of day.

What is your budget on the winter vehicle? CRV is a good choice, but they are pricey, but that means they hold their value pretty well. I am looking into them as well actually. Also looking at the older subarus but I am very worried about quality on those, engines seem to explode after 200km.

car is looking good man. not a fan of the banner but as you said your just kind of messing around with stuff so

Are your fenders rolled? you got the +32 advans?

I also store my TL and I have a 03 Acura EL I use in the winter and just my overall daily beater car. I love it, theres nothing like having something that you can beat the living piss out of all year around and it just keeps taking it. I was on the hunt for a CRV at that time too but theyre friggin pricey here in Canada so I elected for the Acura Civic lol

Thanks! I'm shifting my search from a CR-V to a Pilot. Definitely not a step down on the price side, but a big step up in a winter highway driver/ski hauler. Agree on the Subaru, I'd LOVE a new one off the lot, but cant get behind a used one as a daily... My budget at the moment is $8k CAD, which should get me in to an '06 or so with around 200k.

Thanks! Fenders are rolled and pulled about 1.5''. The Advans are 18x9+22, and I run 2* camber all around (the tires are Michelin Pilot Super Sports in 235/40).

Thanks dude! different strokes. There's lots of TLs out there and its tough to stand out, which is what I wanted for this most recent show. I'll probably keep it for the rest of the season and then do something different/nothing at all next season. It's funny, the comments from inside the 3G TL community have been pretty 'meh', where outside the community they seem to like it. That said, people here are always more honest, which is how it should be.

What's next? it's done for this season, but next spring I'm hoping to focus on the power train. I'd like to do some larger maintenance like valve adjustment, plugs, etc. Also an Injen intake, J37 throttle body, HFPCs, and maybe a pulley. Most important will be a Flashpro and proper tune. After that she's pretty much done and I'll be turning my focus and budget to huntingdown a clean track car. Maybe something convertible, RWD, with a Honda badge... Hmm...
