Akrapovics progress thread!!

So i just bought my TL-S 9/12/10 and started messing around with it. I was coming from a 2000 VW Passat that i also played around with. Im slowly moving down the list of mods being a student doesnt help much with the cash flow. Heres a few pics of the VW and the TL along with my other toy.

Heres a few pics of the VW before i parted it out.

I got sick of dealing w/ german cars after modding this one so i went to something cheaper and much fast. Heres a pic of putting together my first gsxr.

This was the finished result.

Now i am currently driving my 2007 TL-S 6spd.

After i got my windows and windshield tinted along with adding my shocker and transformers sticker, I went went a AEM V2 and Custom grille. Also debaged the trunk except for the Acura emblem and type-s badge. I will be adding a type s badge in the top corner of the grille once it gets here. I also installed a CT short shifter but didnt bother taking pictures of that annoying ass install.

While the bumper was off i went ahead and did my fogs yellow and also got the lower fog light grilles painted instead of that dull flat plastic look. This were the results.

Will keep this thread updated as much as possible.

Current mods
-45% tint on windshield
-5% on windows
-Custom grille
-Yellow fogs
-Valentine One radar hardwire
-Debadged trunk lid
-AEM V2
-CT Short shifter
-Painted lower grilles

Future mods by summer 11'
-RV6 PCDs
-RV6 jpipe
-Undecided Catback exhaust (perhaps when the true dual comes out from richie)
-3rd cat delete
-TB spacer
-19x9.5 offset 22ish Volk CE28 Time attack black wheels w/ red lip and red extended lugs.
-A spec lip kit
-Tein SS coilovers.
-Sarona spoiler
-Slotted rotors
-Tinted taillights
-Cleared headlight
List will probably get longer...

Did you purchase this car in VA off Craigslist? I inquired about this car and the seller said that someone was coming to pick the car up the next day. I like what you have done to the car so far.

Hey I pretty sure i've met you before, your chefs friend? I came and looked at his prelude after he wrecked it, I remember bringing my wrx over to that house where all your pics are taken to try to find a boost leak... I also remember one your friends had a white TL-S... your car is comming along really nice.

Yea im looking into getting Volk CE28N or TE37. I was gonna go with bronze for awhile, but decided to go with the time attack edition which are black with a red lip. Thinking of 18x9.5 with a 22mm offset or 19s with a little higher offset. Depending on cash flow i WILL be slamming this thing on teins coilovers probably next month and perhaps getting my friend to powder coat my oem wheels for the time being.

Yea i said all i was going to do to this car was instake/exhaust/tint.....then the bug bit me and i probably wont stop modding it.

Nice car....except for the shocker sticker. Its not a civic dude, take it off.
But to each their own I guess.
And wow thats an impressive list of future mods.
Keep us updated on the progress.

Love the outcome of the grill... but since the type-s grill is larger than the base grill, it really leaves a huge ass gaping hole that's black. I'd recommend blacking out your headlights (NOT with tint film) to match it or else it looks pretty awkward.

And please, get rid of that retarded shocker sticker; like aforementioned, this isn't a civic.

I have a set of 18x9.5 +22 te37s in factory orange paint.

PM me if interested, comes with tires. Willing to trade for type-s wheels with tires + cash.

What do you mean blacking out the headlights, like painting the housing black?

Also 18x9.5 + 22 dont rub? I would have to diff get them powder coated dont think i can pull off the orange.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. im glad everything likes the direction the car is going and the only thing people dont like is my $2 sticker. So far so good then! I'd rather get hated on for a sticker, then an expensive mod ill feel pretty bad then.

UPDATE: Going to pick up XLR8 resonated cat-back exhaust tomorrow or tuesday from someone local. Was putting money away for my teins but im not going to pass up on a good offer. Will post pics during and after install.

Btw has anyone heard of whats going on with those resonated PCDs? I heard good stuff about the RV6 but also heard the chemicals inside the PCD wear off pretty quick and the car gets a little to loud. Any suggestions or comments?

Thanks

I have 225/40-18 tires on; they don't rub in the back at all and i'm pretty slammed. Up front they rub when turning on driveways and bad bumps. I can get them powdercoated any black style for $120/wheel... let me know if you're serious.. shoot me a PM if so.

alright thanks brian, think im going to slam my car 1st the type s wheels look good for now. Not like im rolling on hub caps lol. If only acura would have made those dam wheels 18s.

Since im getting the exhaust i think imma be done for about a month on mods. I try to do 1 thing a month unless its something over $1000.

Ive had the car for about 5 weeks now and im happy at the rate of progress i have on it.

I just installed my xlr8 resonated exhaust and it sounds so gooood. Heres a few pics of the exhaust and my stock exhaust which will be going up on the BM soon.

Stock Pics

Then the XLR8 exhaust which almost looks the same.

i will probably do the 3rd cat delete when i get my j pipe in a little while, but for now im going to relax and enjoy the mods ive done in the last 2 weeks.

Sorry if some of the pics turned out shitty. Was using my iphone.

Yea its sort of a curse...i mod fast but then get bored even faster so i try to pace myself so i dont end up trying to sell the car after a year or 2. Next up Jpipe coilovers and a lip kit. Should all be done by in a month or 2. Not sure which order im going to do it in probably whatever good deals i find first.

finally got my new badge in the mail so i went ahead and put it on my grill. I ordered a aftermarket one that was about 1 1/4in bigger then OEM since the grill leaves such a big gap. I think it turned out pretty good.
