After almost 14 years, it's the end of an era.
Guys, I know you don't hear from me very often, but this is newsworthy.
I bought my ASM '07 Type S on January 1st 2008....I've had it for almost 14 years. The car was build in July 2007! For years, my Acura dealership has asked when I'm going to trade in my 3rd Gen Type S to them. I always responded, "Never!"
Friday, I went to see the new Type S that just arrived...nice car. But for the heck of it, I built a Type S online. But to my dismay, they won't allow you to have the red interior with a red exterior, which was disappointing to me. But, my dealership had a brand new Gray TLX with the red interior....I was smitten. They gave me the car to drive overnight. So Saturday, I decided to trade in my beloved 144,000 2007 ASM Type S for a new 2021 TLX Aspec. This was one of the toughest automotive decisions I've made in a long time. I have to tell you, I thought long and hard about giving up my Type S. But I got a few pictures of the two cars sitting side by side. Here they are.....
I will get some better pictures today of the new TLX Aspec and post. It's a bittersweet farewell to my beloved 2007 Type S, but it was time.

^^^
The new Type S is about $20,000 more than the TLX (or at least the one I built online). The main difference I can see is the larger engine. At this stage of my life, $20,000 for a bigger engine is a no-go.

Honestly, I haven't really leaned into it yet. Since I hadn't purchased it yesterday, I didn't put my foot into it. But I can tell you that the TLX Aspec is 272 HP, which is fine for a Daily Driver.
Here's some more pictures just shot.

Hey....don't tempt me! I could just have it wrapped in Carbon Fiber!
I was thinking the same thing....I think one of the guys at the Jay Wolfe Acura dealership might buy it.

I tried pricing one out too... The red interior is nice but I love my interior to be black/ebony. Unfortunately it's only offered in the other colors like the blue and the tiger eye.

Congrats, Steven.
Someone at the dealership that has always lusted after your TL-S will have purchased it, no doubt.
I've seen the type S TLX first hand and driven the TL-S Aspec on a few occasions. Either is a solid
choice but at 20K over MSRP on the Type S...you did the right thing. I love tiger eye but I wouldn't
spend that on any new car anyway. Crazy.
Congrats and enjoy in good health...solid choice for an upgrade.
and you did get the bigger engine. It's sitting in the coupe in the garage.

Thanks for sharing pictures of your garage, I will never share mine, way too embarrassed… mine actually looks like a garage not a well polished museum.
Cool decorations all around, neighbor down the street from me is a vette guy too, he’s in a “corvette anonymous” club and he said he starts meets with “Hi my name is Tom, and I have a problem…” ( joke is that he’s obsessed with the car… )

Thanks...here is an up-close look at the flooring. This is NOT epoxy! It's ETEK.
LOL....gotta admit. I love going into the garage!
Thanks brother!

Yea...gotta admit-the Corvette can become obsessive!
LOL....even Anil is envious of this garage! By the way, he says hello and sends his best!

I added some goodies today....trunk tray, heated steering wheel, interior Carbon Fiber package.
The Carbon Fiber looks outstanding! Gotta hand it to Acura on that. However, the trunk tray is "awkward"....it sticks out and doesn't sit flush with the top of the trunk-it just looks "off".
But here's a little of my own handiwork.....
I'll get a full-on front view later. It was pulled in the garage-this was the best I could do.....

^^^ Thanks Jeremy....I'm tryin'. I have to admit, the new wheels make a HUGE difference. They're one inch wider all the way around (just like the Corvette wheels). Now I need to drop it about an inch and I'm all set.
